i actually work on tgs the next giant after cactus is the dirt giant thats on every moon you walk on it. its so good they added it to vanilla on every moon with soil

oh i've seeing falling down the map before, just never "falling but not falling"
I wonder what happens when you go through the floor, like if it detects touching ground at all before it has fallen through, and how to prevent it
oh the fix for me is just to turn kinematics back on on the patch for touching the ground i have
i just havent implemented the fix yet
but i've never seen someone phase through the fall and not continue falling

Speaking of the throw, maybe it was just the game’s physics being jank but the first time I got thrown by one I landed on top of the rock spire on Ass, thought I was going to be fine but force seemed to continue pulling me down after I landed, so it kinda sucked me off the side of the rock and I died.
Not sure if the throw or the game itself was the culprit there

I wanted to report an issue xd
Dunno why, but when i change the config, those guys just dont spawn... i realised that after a lot of rounds, where normally they spawned like crazy, so i lowered the spawn values a bit and changed the spawn count from default 1 to 4 and 2 respectfully
After making changes to the config they just... never appear.

I don't know, the idea of you doing development on this solo doesn't look like the best idea because it would be quite the workload.

So my only thing about it is there’s a similar mod called Diversity that is just a giant mod with a ton of moving parts, and it’s a little annoying going through everything in the config to turn on and off what you want, and plus the footprint of that mod is huge, it has custom dependencies which are annoying because if you dont use those features they have to get loaded anyways
We ended up nuking it from our modlist for that reason

What weights do ppl set their spawn rate to? I have been setting them to 200+ and still barely see either giant spawn. They still do though, but it's very rare in my group's sessions
i set the weight of red giant very low and almost everytime i'm on Vow or March, they spawn
I try to keep my spawn rates balanced around vanilla so I typically go tweaking and referencing a moons default spawns
Yeah I set the redwood spawn rate lower
And bumped up the driftwood
I kept having the colossal titan spawn every seed on the defaults for some reason

usually when i die tho, i bounce on first impact then die on the second
can you avoid the second impact by crouching right as you hit the floor?

i still love how my friend who picked up anvil from immersive scraps, with lethal weight mod got thrown by driftwood and just died on the first one, classic.

im i the only one who's pissed when people compare DbD and evolve ?, like sure the concept is similar but the gameplay are SSSSOOOOOOOOO different, the concept of having a team working together to do a Bossfight against a boss that is controlled by a player, but need to power up to survive was so neat

He would be a passive/docile enemy, would not attack any type of enemy
but every enemy that tried to attack him or get close would be damaged by his spikes
he would walk very slow around the map (like hygrodere but a bit faster)
he would leave a trail of small spikes on where he walks that could hurt the player 5 hp for every seconds standing (outside trap?)
only the player, not the mobs

he likes to eat honey?
so if you don't want the hives to be gone, you should kill him
he won't attack you even if you hurt him, but his spikes could kill you

Old ideas for cactus giant

Rolling charge: When chasing he has a chance to roll forward which is faster then his run speed but he can't turn so he can be dodged and escaped (maybe if he crushes you, your body will be stuck on top of him

ambush mode: he digs into the ground waiting for someone to step on or near them to emerge (if they are ontop of him could fling them or just eat them idk)
But the way to tell one is underground would be a few cactus sticking up (rip for people who play on desert maps lol)

I think I encountered a bug with the mangrove giant
The mangrove giant was next to the ship, and it suddenly began throwing it back, and a shockwave emanated from his clapping cheeks sent me into the abyss

Hey idk if this has been mentioned or looked into yet but i was encountering an issue with the redwood giant the other day and just wanted to mention it. every time it attempted to eat one of the driftwood giants it flew across the map in-between its animation. im unsure if this is an issue with it itself or because it was happening a lot of the time on custom moons. But i just wanted to mention it just in case
i have a fix i can apply, problem is it allows the giants to path like hoarding bugs instead of like actual big giants
but it's prolly worth it

their animations are the same except they just dont turn around

anyway, im not redoing the redwood animations a third time, it'd need a huge rewrite plus going full depth into how animation works in unity

Default giant spawn rate is way too high for custom moons
100 pretty much replaces everything else on some custom moons. And when the redwood spawns it turns to 200.
Cool mod though, that was my crews only complaint

well 90% of time dogs are out numbered by a alot
also you can hit their arms through the ship to the point where we spent like the last 4 hours of a moon trying to kill them

@calm widget I've tried disabling and enabling my mods in batches and figured out that the mod doesnt work in combination with the Lethal Phones mod by Scoops. I've also found it weird that the Driftwood giant only sees you for the first time if you are really close to him, after triggering him once he can see you from further away.

Just wanted to say this one of the better lethal company mods I've seen, and was also wondering if there's any progress on the Cactus Tree giant yet and if you can share what plans you have for the cactus tree in terms of behavior/interaction
im just a bit busy with commissions so i havent done too much in terms of cactus giant, bringing giant specimens into CR and adding cactus giant is probably what ill do when im free next

I like FlameBurnt's forest keeper designs, but they remove from both the animal aspect of the design, and the aspect of the design where they're not hostile; but instead misunderstood, curious animals
Could there be a config option added that makes it so the Redwood giant also targets player? I like how it's unique and goes after other giants, but I think it would be fun for something so huge and scary looking, to alse be hostile towards players as well.
I get that the stomps can kill you, but that never really happens unless you try and get yourself killed.
I think it would be nice if it targeted players and GIANTS
It should priortize giants over players though if it spots both.

From my experience, my friends and I never get attacked by the driftwood unless we purposely go up to him until we are like 2 feet within range
I went to the config file to increase the range of his scream to see if that would help with him aggroing onto us
But it did nothing which was expected lol

I haven't seen anyone else struggle with range either
There was someone else in #help-and-troubleshooting complaining about it as well
They said they had to walk inside the driftwood giant just for him to aggro
