Giant specimens allows you to set weights for every moon for each of its giants in the config
Uses the same format as the LLL config
i have actually never seen any giants even tho the default weights are kidna high

Apparently there's a bug with LLL that causes LLL mods made by the same person to not have its configs work. Currently the only mod that is affected is Giant Specimens, Immersive Scrap still works tho
Should be fixed in the next LLL update unless Xu decides to make a workaround first
If you want the giants right now I'd recommend removing immersive scrap for the time being

Some mod conflict is causing clients to blackscreen on join when connecting with GI enabled
Yeah better spray paint I heard is the culprit with a few mods recently
wild how spray paint can cause so many issues
its seems to be a butterfly effect sorta problem
like it changes one thing that leads to another
@calm widget It's a direct conflict between BetterSpraypaint and GiantSpecimens, just those two mods in the pack (plus dependencies of course) reproduces the issue. As for why this suddenly started happening I'm not sure, but I can tell you that the LethalEmotesAPI developer had a similar issue caused by the same mod and this was their fix #1187207156827697173 message
Apparently there may be a secondary conflict as I have BSP disabled and all my other mods disabled and it is happening again
the black screen or void glitch is usually due to some kind of desync between the host and client
or just happens sometimes but it usually requires whoever is voided to restart their game and sometimes mod managing client
thats how ive experienced it altleast
Both the host and client are me, I'm running two different instances of LC and deleting my BepInEx folder from the client instance and copying it back over every change I make
so they should be in sync
Most commonly during v49 this was due to MoreCompany and a race condition when two clients joined at the same time
one would succeed while the other would be voided
This was fixed for v50

@calm widget To summarize, my modlist had two different mods causing clients to load into a black screen when joining, the mods in question are BetterSprayPaint and StoreRotationConfig. Either one of these by themselves will cause the issue, even in a profile with just your mod and either of those two mods (plus dependencies). Regarding the BetterSprayPaint incompatibility, the LEAPI dev had a similar issue and this was their solution: #1187207156827697173 message Not sure if it's applicable to you but it's a good place to start

@vivid nexus I seem to be able to load in just fine to a separate computer hosting with both these mods enabled (in LAN). I suspected it could be the latest release of CSync (v5.0.0) since it's the only thing I'm using for networking, but it doesn't cause a black screen, it just doesn't sync settings (which I need to fix). Are you able to provide any logs, or a specific r2modman profile with this issue?

Apparently it's some issue with FixPluginTypesSerialization causing this specific error when debugging is enabled? I'm not really sure, but it's been discussed several times in this server.
I'll probably add that code snippet to my codebase and release it as a patch, but it does just seem to be a CSync/FixPluginTypesSerialization issue...

It's not really a chance out of 9999, it doesnt work like that in LethalCompany, it's weighted probability, so it's not easy to calculate, the default config is good, you can just remove Experimentation if you don't want it to spawn there

That’s kind of what I’ve been trying to tune my weights to do, but adding more monsters will always consequently lower the spawn chance of other monsters, which I don’t really want to happen

@calm widget Much more of a nitpick than anything, but I've done some tests and I think your default values for the giants might be a bit too high. Not too much of a problem since I'll just rebalance them in my modpack, but for example in adamance your weight is Redwood:100, Driftwood:100 and that's the weight of the other monsters:
It is mitigated by the limited amount of redwood and driftwood that can spawn haha
Might also be very intended, if so, disregard 🙂
The weights were intentional in the scenario that people weren't seeing many spawns
But that was partially due to bugs here and there

The Driftwood is probably my least favorite enemy due to no counterplay tbh
doesn't happen often, but good chance to happen during embrion visits
I mean why does it not drop you and run away if you bonk it while it's grabbing you? But it will if you hit it before it manages to grab you

How do you guys go about spawning enemies to test them? I tried using Imperium but it seems rather glitchy for modded enemies. I tried spawning the Driftwood Giant for example, which worked, but it wouldn’t aggro onto me at all and I want to confirm if that’s its actual behavior (due to a bug) or a side effect of Imperium

I really feel like the Driftwood Giant's grab range is a bit off, I was clear to the side of it while the animation it plays implies it only grabs from the front

I know Xu talked about the driftwood having many weaknesses before but tbh this actually should be one, it's a charging enemy, strafing something charging at you is a naturally expected counterplay

unless dude has like psychic powers that specifically work only on the front of his arms the animation should probably accomodate the grab range, or the grab range should be adjusted
could just initialise the grab quicker
because the giant probably would grab you if you went to the side anyway because youre just going towards the big old grabbers
so if you sort of collide with the arms it grabs earlier

Did some testing and besides the driftwood giant animation stuff I brought up earlier I’ve also noticed that with the redwood giant eating other enemies, the enemy being eaten is mispositioned and is decently far away from the hand that’s presumably supposed to be holding it
Definitely happens with driftwood giants and old birds, I don’t recall if it happens with forest giants
Redwood giants also do not attack old birds unless attacked first; I assume this is intentional but just wanted to bring it up if not
Lastly, would it be possible to get a config option for the redwood giant’s stomp damage? I feel like it’s rather on the low side given that it’s just about almost stepping on you. For that matter, if you’re under the foot of the redwood giant and it steps on you, you just get pushed out of the way; you should probably get instantly crushed in that scenario
The giant does crush you, but the hitbox for it is not where it should be
tbh what I’ve found today indicates to me that the hitboxes in general are just kind of fucked all across the board

If you want to configure spawn chance you should be looking at its "weight" not power level. Higher weight means more probability it will spawn.
Power level is basically how many creatures at once can be spawned. For example, if a moon's total power level is 12, and a dog takes 2 levels: that means the moon can theoretically spawn 6 dogs maximum.
||Note: outside and inside use separate power levels||
I wouldn't recommend tampering with power levels

Perhaps. You could be just getting unlucky too.
Try setting weight to 9999 so it's almost guaranteed to spawn. If you don't see any giants appearing for an entire quota, it is entirely probable there could be a mod conflict
That's because u got hit by the hands hitbox, animation triggers when you've been hit by the hands hitbox, which is intentional, you can't dodge left and right when you've already collided with it lol
You can strafe it, just don't collide with it simultaneously
He doesn't need psychic powers, his arms are huge af, you went into range, hugged its arm, and didn't dodge it successfully
It's not exactly a charging enemy either
Not made yet, in the coming weeks though
Decently far away? It's give or take a meter ahead of the hand, I could fix that but it's positioned pretty well
