aw shucks its gonna be a lil more tricky to get the beige color than i thought. whatever color i put in just shows up as way darker ingame.
just gonna keep messing with it till i get close

u can also see the giant gets really close to the ship.. not sure how far away its supposed to avoid it

brown dust color definitely looks worse on a foggy mappy
since the particles are just showing up on top of the fog, it's already noticeable.. so something like white (causes gray looking particles) stands out less since it kinda blends in with the fog color.
but i feel like this would look less worse once xu figures out how to properly have the particles affected by fog and lighting

xu tried to fix, but only managed to stop it happening sometimes.
honestly i kinda like the idea. it's like u got stomped into a blood mist.
i'd say my only gripe with it is that it hangs around for too long
would it be possible to fake the giant eating to fix this maybe? like, upon grabbing a giant, the giant is deleted and a fake ghost giant is put in the redwood's hands

-disable collision physics for the forestkeeper.
-THEN start the grabbing-eating animation after all that.
i think the sliding issue still exists because the grabbing animation starts right away on collision + collision physics is still on for that brief frame before it can be disabled. so why not just start the animation afterwards?
that way there should be no chance of intersecting collision boxes and causing the sliding

when drawing out your designs before you model them, you should draw a side profile too so you have an idea of what shapes you want to make it not feel so flat

Colliders are all disabled, navmesh checked and its not the issue

Theres a couple of steps 😄 first make a design in a png - then get someone or make yourself BGM - if these work well you can move on to making a little "animation" to your picture. bonus points for syncing it with the audio :p
you can dm me if you need any help in the steps or you are struggling with the modding part (Bongo's api + Emblem config)
the one thing i probably will have the most trouble with is the bgm
maybe i'll just look a bit for royalty free bgms

Yes this feature is already in #1219082379025715220 but to feel more immersed in to the theme Bongo's API will be implemented switch audiosource when the background changes too. I'm planning to make Driftwood Giant's background as well that is also animated.
One thing though that the colours for the menubuttons will not switch between themes (outside of Emblem's scope) so the menubuttons for TheGiantSpecimens - Gigantic Company theme will stay as White and dark red (latter one might change)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's no lore for the Forest Keepers stating they're deaf. Just cause they don't reflect being able to hear ingame, doesn't mean lore-wise they're deaf. By that logic every enemy in the game but Jeb and Dogs are deaf

I pretty much disable any items added to the shop by mod's that give the player an advantage, my group always makes it to over 3000 quota. Anything that give the player an advantage is overkill for us 😅

Generally turrets block more areas and I don't think there's any mod that allows things to destroy them
There is an upgrade in LGU that destroys them when you type in their code

gonna be honest, dont think there's much more (in terms of features) you can do for the big guy. got the mechanics, the noises, the appearance, a plush, and even an item to manipulate it. you guys all did great. easily one of the best custom monsters released

The spawns there work the same way as on any other moon, coilheads and masked are the only ones on the spawn list
The spawn curve however is made in a way that allows more to only spawn near the end of the day

Ok so from my testing, Giants eaten by the Redwood giant dont spawn in their scrap with the SellBodiesFixed mod
That might be a compatibility you wanna add, they recently just added support for mods that allow giants/ghostgirls/jesters/sporelizards etc. to be killed to spawn as a "body" you can sell
It would also work nicely to actually encourage people to follow the redwood on his funny lil rampage and try picking up the scraps without getting stepped on

you might need to test this in a #1199473521265475745 project so you can go in scene and check the runtime baked navmesh + your agent size etc.

v 1.7.2 QoL update
- Updated dependency to latest LethalLib, meaning you can now specify to have the items and enemy spawn in.
- Cleaned up my code majorly
- Cleaned up config slightly.
- Finished making the model of the Driftwood, expect updates soon.
- Fixed terminal for whistle, no one told me it was broken smh, I just saw I used wrong code.
- Plushie sound added when squished.
- Fixed bug with dying inside ship with redwood giant hitting through wall.
- Wrote some basic AI for driftwood giant and some basic configs, ITS NOT OUT YET SO CONFIGS WONT DO ANYTHING.
update will go live in 40~ mins

Playing into the fact he has spines, some kind of damage over time or laying out cacti would be interesting
In fact, could kinda be like a Shrike bird. You know, the ones that impale their prey on branches. Quite creepy and would definitely make it unique among the giants.
(spoilered since, well, dead rat or something, tho not rly graphic, i tried to find one that isnt rly graphic)
In a sense it could be kinda similar to a spider, in that is has like a "nest" phase where it places the cacti around, and then it has a hunting/ambush phase where it tries to kill people and bring them back to the nest, making retrieving the bodies tricky.
It could also bring scrap there it finds left outside maybe, encouraging people to go near the nest.
Programming wise, having it place some cacti that slows and damages people overtime shouldnt be that hard, tho it proly needs something to prevent it from just doing it in front of an entrance or something. An issue might be how you make it "pin" the bodies in the spikes properly i suppose
it would also be the only enemy i know of besides the spider that actually lays some kind of trap out
that would be wild seeing the corpse of ur friend pinned to it 
which works alright in an open environment, depending on how visible it is
For me it depends, i think alot of the time i would go "rip bozo" and not bother dealing with all that to retrieve them if they was being silly lol
it also works well with the stealth aspect, he could stalk to try and get people unexpectadly to bring to the nest
You could go one step further and code it so that when pinned, if alive, freeing yourself on your own does alot of damage to you, so you can escape solo but its risky
Whereas if someone else comes up to you and holds E to free you, you get out without being hurt as much (or just teleport)

Another approach could be to just have the spikes on him, and have him impale people on himself, and carry them around
For this tho, he would proly need to be way less perceptive, deaf with a slow turning speed and not the best eyesight
So then you sneak up behind him to try to free people
I prefer the nest thing tho, its probably less likely to be buggy and seems more unique
my first thought with cactus giant was a giant thats fairly liable to spawn on the "non giant" dehydrated moons, since cacti are hardy plants
experimentation, assurance, offense, etc
though i think giants have miniscule chances anyways on the latter two

Just got a morbid thought but what if instead of eating you it actually smacks your body onto its cactus for.. dunno, nutritious leeching? Also maybe it could shoot out thorns that could slow someone down? Or maybe instead of hurling you, it hurls things at you (looking at its buff asf arms)

alright just going to rewrite what i mentioned about the audiosource thing from lunxara's stream earlier
isn't the audiosource already networked, since the giant's footsteps plays on each client?
the reason each client is able to play the footstep sound is because the giant's state is synced. each time the giant is supposed to play a footstep sound, each client already knows to play that sound as well.
in the case of your plushie, if only one client is able to hear a sound, that means none of the other clients know when one client is interacting with that plushie
so the simple fix for this would be to just add an rpc method. when the plushie is interacted with on one client, notify all other clients to play the audiosource that you have

idk if you're currently using evaisa's netcode patcher but you'll need to make sure you have that as well
without the patcher, ServerRpc and ClientRpc do absolute nothing
how this works is something like this:
PlayPlushieSfx abstracts the "networking" part out, so whenever you call it from anywhere else, it'll always play on all clients.
- it'll play the sfx locally
- if it's the host, it'll tell all other clients to play the sound as well
- if it's a non-host, it'll have to tell the host to tell all other clients
^just breaking it down a bit in case ur not too sure
