anyone know why im only getting [none] weathers when i start up the game with weather tweaks? cus i was really hoping to use the progressive weathers in my modpack
is there away for me to just have progressive weathers on every moon?
you should have a few random weathers
but combined and progressive weathers cant happen on first day
even on the 2nd and 3rd day its still none

i cant get it to work i even copied and pasted the example into the unique weather algorithm to always get that weather and it just comes up as none

Prolly Dopadream, it's likely overriding the Skybox since iirc Cloudy is just a modified Clear Weather

Weather Ideas:
Acid Rain: Rains down acid from the sky every few hours for 2 hours dealing 1 dmg every 2 seconds, may kill everything outside
Volcanic Eruption: Spawns a Volcano on the map that erupts after 4 - 6 hours that spews lava around the map that deals 5 - 10 dmg per second
Supernova: Makes the planet you land on be enveloped in fires
Debris Field: Rains down rocks and junk from space, sometimes rains down scrap items
Desertification: Turns the moon into a desert waste land and adds sand everywhere, sometimes has sandstorms that make it impossible to see in front of you til they pass
Alien Abduction: Ufos spawn around the map every few hours that search the ground with beams of light for any forms of life to abduct by beaming them up, enemies can be abducted. Sometimes a ufo will crash land on the planet leaving scrap at the crash sight

Rainbow: Spawns a big rainbow across the map, if you find the end of the rainbow there should be a really heavy scrap at the end of it worth a lot
maybe also spawns a big loot bug that guards it
Eye Of The Beholder: Turns the sun into an eye that looks around the entire planet for life if spotted by the eye you will be disintegrated after 3 - 5 seconds in its line of sight, if you manage to find cover away from its gaze it will go back to searching
For some reason, weathers on the ship's main monitor screen does not appear colored until you switch moons

Idk if this applies to you too, but having Weather Registry installed kills Map Improvement's Assurance and Vow specifically for whatever reason

Update on this: Seems to be broken by v0.7.5, though it could just be that older vers of the mod don't run at all in v73

So, you set all weights for each moon 0_0
use level weights only for every option for every moon. I forgot the exact bug but having a mixed weather e.g. rain + stormy, you cant have rain + stormy on a moon if rain isnt present on the moon, i forgot if it force enabled rain as a result or wouldnt let rain + stormy ever happen, but either way, the solution was this yes
now that i think about it, it doesnt seem like a bug. But it may as well be with how brutal it is
i made a spreadsheet for everything moon related for myself but i ditched 95% of it except the weather registry portion... it jsut too useful, fill in table and paste it in...
i am starting to remember...

I did, it was very frustrating since its not very clear whats used as a fallback and whatnot
tldr...
If want rainy + stormy on titan without rainy, set level weight on titan to 0 and stormy to 100 and rainy + stormy to 100. Now apply this to something like the end of the world, and you have to go through and set like 2-6 weathers to 0 per moon just so you can use the end of the world on those moons. I believe this was my issue
This also fixed what youre dealing with as a result because i remember it... confuzzling

I do my changes from scrap value and amounts in RoundManager.LoadNewLevel. I'm wondering if your mod would inherit my scrap values/amount into the calculation or if it overwrites them. Do you think it would be possible to introduce a patch if it does so, so that scrap values are correctly grabbed from my mod BCMER?
I'm wondering how I should set my weather multipliers. I noticed that the default scrap value multipliers are 1 but shouldn't they be 0.4?
I'm trying to properly set up my multipliers for each weather and I want clear to be the normal amount. So I should set clear to 0.4 correct?
So the base vanilla multiplier is not 0.4? I keep seeing this value show up.
I know general improvements suggested using it, but that mod's multiplier is broken.

Howling winds spawn on other moons, rather than gratar only, and same with the other weathers i try to whitelist to only one moon

Try to ignore the whitelist/blacklist and instead set the weight of the of each moon to 0 for moons you dont want it on instead
Been told combined/progressive weathers dont work on first day
even second,third days, they didnt worked
I have these two floats that are being calculated and used later and throughout the code.
I believe the issue is that it would not actually scale at the times where mine is used at? Since I make calls to it at RoundManager.ModifyLevel and some calls are made at lever pull.
alright i've tried to put levels weight, and so far, it works, but i checked End of the world, so i could put it on Hyx, i got rid of every moons blacklisted on hyx, and it still doesnt appear, so i guess i got to whitelist for this one

I've been wondering forever if this isn't like the wrong way around? is it just the wording?

clear = none?
my confusion is: when adding a bunch of weathers, the total weight of all weathers increases. So for clear/none weather to stay the same absolute % chance on every moon, i.e. the same % of the total weight, its weight would have to be scaled up not down..?
the way it works is:
- I'm checking for all weathers and using that amount as a baseline to calculate the % of "total weight" of clear weather
- On planets that don't have certain weathers that % is lower, so clear weather's weight is lowered to match it
so the result should be the same % chance of no weather on all planets, no matter the amount of possible weathers
ahh, it's dynamic in that way. I assumed it's to normalize to the same chance that clear weather would have without any modded weathers at all.
so essentially if I want to see more moons with no weather at any given time, I just increase the None weather base weight and keep that setting enabled to normalize across different moons with different pools of possible weathers
my misunderstanding was thinking 'no matter how many weathers are in the pool' meant total pool of weathers vs vanilla instead of per moon weather pool
i'll try to check it tomorrow to give you more details about it, but iirc it works that way

Cloudy and Blackout from Mrov's work. Heatwave and Solar Flare from LE are fine alas Snow, Blizzard, and Toxic Smog don't load. Wesley's seem to kinda work though last I checked their was some desync between clients with the props spawned during hurricane. No clue about Kenji's, Generic's

you can set this up using combined weathers and setting the original weathers weight/chance to 0, i had done this by renaming majora moon to Moonfall

The only thing I found in the mod's configs was a scrap multiplier indicator
Go to any weather in the config and it will show you scrap multiplier

v80 changed the code I was patching with a transpiler
so that's fixed now

if you want to hide every weather every time, you can use AlwaydUnknown option in WeatherTweaks config
under "special modes" iirc

Seems like there's a fair bit of manual setup needed. I have to type all of the weather combos in? Also would I just turn off all of the weather from weather tweaks and use the ones from toolkit instead?
If you already got some vanilla weather combos setup I'd love it if you could send your config. The setup process looks confusing to me.

Registry weather config is empty now after launching with toolkit
the 50 predefined weathers come from combinations between modded weathers
so if you dont have those modded weathers, you wont have those combinations

The only reason I asked about all this is because it felt like the multipliers weren't working when I downloaded tweaks. I didn't expect to find stuff below like 30 on an eclipsed or stormy moon

Those work on top of Registry's weights
so Registry applies them normally, and then Tweaks modified them based on the percentage in the configs
and after restart all special weathers will have their entries added to the config

I changed all the weather settings to 'unknown.' When I check the planet list in the terminal, select a planet, and it asks if I want to go while showing the price, the weather still pops up there. Is it supposed to work like that?
I looked around in the configs and didn't see one, but would it be possible to add a config option for WeatherRegistry that disables the weather forecast and weather change terminal commands?

Just to help mitigate potential temptations to change the weather in your favor mid-run lol. WeatherRegistry controls the scrap bonus rates with my pack & even if it's only the host, it's an avenue to cheese the system. I just see it as a loophole that can exploited & taken advantage of outside of debugging.
I mean, I'm not worried so much about me. It's just a potential loophole that someone playing my challenge pack could do to give themselves an advantage. Then again, even if the config was added, what's stopping someone from changing that? Kind of a moot request now that I think about it in retrospect.
i mean you can't really control what others do, they can easily install your pack and add any mod the want on top of it
or just... turn the setting back on

You know, I took a look at that and that got me thinking. It actually is better if the weather option is available by default.
Cuz there's a potential scenario where you would want to freely have access to it. Say for example that you had to save and quit the game to resume it another day. When you eventually sit back down to continue the run, the active weather that you saved with may have changed on the reload. Having access to that command would let you restore it to what it actually was when you left off
That's not something that I took into consideration, so I do thank you for mentioning that simple commands mod since that sparked the thought process for me

@drowsy willow I noticed that when I disable the LCKR (Korean patch) mod, text appears as 'unknown' even on the screen before pressing 'Confirm.' If it's not too much trouble, could you look into making your mod compatible with LCKR? Or should I reach out to Piggy, the creator of LCKR, instead?
