I have been testing General Improvements and I have noticed that the FPS gets impacted whenever I use 1.1.5, 1.1.6 and 1.1.7.
1.1.4 seems fine though as the FPS does not seem to be impacted almost at all.
Any version above 1.1.4 does not affect my FPS a lot if the mod count is kept at a minimum (duh).
Version 1.1.4 affects FPS rarely even with 50+ mods.
I hope this helps, idk I could be wrong but the issue may have probably started in version 1.1.5

If you wanna take a look go ahead, personally being stuck in version 1.1.4 does not bother me as I am not really losing anything essential.

cuz a friend of mine was having fps issues in games before till i checked her gpu usage. basically was using her internal GPU. and we set her GPU to dedicated to graphics related and now she can play in 4k on Hunt Showdown
can now run 180fps...

when I first used this mod with extra monitors turned on my FPS was halved (lost about 75-85 FPS)
then a week ago I lost about 50 FPS when I went outside the ship with extra monitors turned on and about 10 fps when in the ship after an update
(an improvement of about 30-40 FPS from when I first used this mod)
disabling use better monitors made me go from losing 40-50 FPS to about 10 FPS outside
Huh... so adding fontfixer got $'s working, also ModelReplacementAPI fixes not seeing yourself on internal monitors
im super stoked anyway to see it all come together
i tried removing the ModelReplacementAPI because i wanted to remove the woman suits
since it was the only one i had that needs it
then i couldn't see myself lol in the camera
because the suits that depends on ModelReplacementAPI can't use cosmetics like the ones in MoreCompany
they would not be able to use items specifically once they use emotes
they will be there but stuck and gets desync

we dont know why you cant see yourself but with ModelReplacementAPI, you can see yourself on that screen

temp fix is the model replacement mod
lethal company (especially with mods) seems to be very cpu intensive. so idk if gpu would matter much unless the gpu is much weaker than the cpu
the more mods you add, the less fps because of the cpu

the only mod i can think of that can affect gpu much is hdlethalcompany

I'd love if Lethal Company would. Because running cyberpunk on high settings results in the same amount of fps as lethal company and this makes no sense
lmao that's somewhat true but the difference is cyberpunk uses alot more gpu
well, the obvious answer is because Cyberpunk uses DX12 as default and DX12 is optimized for multi-core loads. Lethal company runs on DX11. Also increasing the amount of cores used by the game would require a lot of engine tinkering which would be pretty hard for modders to do.
That's why laptops have pretty hard times running modded Lethal because before Zen4 and 12th gen, single core performance on laptop CPUs/APUs is pretty terrible
You can force LC on DX12 but honestly, do NOT do it. You'll regret it :S

On the other hand it's not necessarily a bad thing unless it's a leak and doesn't stop allocating more and more memory. Free RAM is useless RAM.
10GB is pretty intense tho. Don't know what kind of stuff you have installed. There are cosmetics and such on store that are waaaay too big as in extremely unoptimized.

You can post it but I'll probably have no idea.
Best thing you can do is deactivate half of your mods and see if it still happens. Then deduct in which half the problematic mod is and split that half again, deactivate half of it. Keep repeating that process.
Don't deactivate using mod manager, just go into the plugins folder with file explorer and move half of the mod somewhere else temporarily. It's faster.

It doesn’t matter, I just didn’t reset the item in time - so the effect froze

i was able to see myself before i installed modelreplacement, and when i installed modelreplacement i only was modelreplacement skins and not normal, now i uninstall modelreplacement and cant see myself in the cam

Seems to randomly occur out of the blue and spams the log to high hell
for me its more like 15 - 20 fps less with GI, no matter the settings
and can confirm that it wasnt like that few updates ago

well removing the cameras from the visible screens doesn't necessarily disable their rendering

bodycam surely take a bunch of fps, but using both doesnt seem to get really worse, tried with only GI, still loose like 20fps (and better monitor On or Off is almost the same, actually using ON seems to have a little bit less dip)

That actually could be. I'll have to investigate my monitor cam code to make sure I'm handling unexpected missing references. No idea what would be cause it offhand though. I see that log says it started in the UpdateDaysSinceDeathMonitors function - do you know if that's always the case?

i've seen the same issue that's being reported here
it seems like some sort of behavior is causing hudmanager to crash
im not sure if it's due to a mod conflict but it seems very likely that is the case
since i've never had this issue in "mostly vanilla" but it happens semi-frequently in larger packs
interestingly it doesnt always seem to print an exception in the console/log
the first time i got some sort of nullref in hudmanager but ever since then it just hasn't been logging anything
this is a major gamebreaking bug because it completely prevents you from interacting with anything, using items (left click, Q, E, etc.), or scrolling through your hotbar
wish i knew how to consistently replicate it or any sort of other info for debugging
it seems most likely related to inventory changing? i've had it happen while dropping a lot of items together, picking up a lot of items really fast, scrolling through while dropping stuff, etc.
this is with all inventory settings off on my end, and I'm like 99% sure everyone else in the lobby had them off too

instead of that floating carbon copy of the door buttons onto the front of the ship
so far the only one i saw was that zoom button on the monitor

combine that with tworadar mod. now you can properly have a duo in the ship to handle the watching
one is on the terminal while the other is on the monitors
just add touchscreen on the monitors and they can tag team disable or open doors
which is useful when yo have like more than 8 to 15 people or something

we normally have 2 people in the group that likes to troll the crew. 1 would properly open and close the door and the other one opens it to let the dogs "In"
normally the one that helps runs towards the terminal to help the crew. while the other makes noise and bring the dogs in and open the doors and then wear the mask
its a fun combo lol
normally we would sell all the horns and they would still manage to hide one lol
a lot keeps getting killed in the counter cuz of it lol. then they will have a shovel fight every time lol
besides. we have that door power on the monitors now. rather than running at the back, having a button in front seems fine

I'd like to confirm something that was brought up recently in this thread. GeneralImprovements drops my average framerate by a lot but not limited to inside ship. Even outside and inside the dungeon I drop from a pretty consistent 120fps (limited with RTSS) down to 60-90 FPS. That's only the average framerate though. Frametimes get REALLY bad with 1% lows close to 30 fps even when just standing outside doing nothing which results in a lot of perceived stutter.

Also see if leaving them out completely (do not assign them to monitors) is the culprit. And I guess try limiting their frames while you're at it to like 1-5, out of curiosity. In theory, 0/unrestricted may be the best performance though

Hmm, it really depends. Not in particular because each patch is only run as needed, and it doesn't hurt to have a lot of options.
The only downside I guess would be it's harder to diagnose individual problems if I don't keep it well organized

Ah, the monitor uses the same algorithm the terminal 'scan' command does, which is an approximate value (it's not supposed to be exact)

So I tried pretty much everything I could think of. Resolutions to 1 or 5, leaving all monitors empty, disabling UseBetterMonitors. I tried disabling pretty much every setting from the config alltogether. None of that improved the performance reliably.
The only thing that does is reverting back to 1.1.3. I wonder if it could have anything to do with one of the new things to put on monitor or maybe this Updated the credits monitor to refresh a few times a second to guarantee it catches any credits changes, whether from vanilla or other mods. or that Slight potential performance improvement when paired with OpenBodyCams

usually what mods do to change that is mess with the layer on the local player's LOD0 model, so if you check that with UnityExplorer maybe you'll get some clues
The only thing that I can see offhand that might be affecting it is the the health display text is being set every frame. Did you happen to try disabling that?
The credits are updating 4 times per second or so, I could do it less but I don't think that would cause issues
it may be that some mods like model replacement or mirror modify the culling mask of the internal camera to make the invisible enemies layer visible on internal cam, if it isn't already visible in vanilla

updating credits should be a simple field access in Terminal right? I wonder if the camera enabled fixes affected it, I was curious about that before
In this case I do a check 4/s to see if what we are currently displaying is different than Terminal.groupCredits, and if so, update and rerender the monitors that display credits. I guess even if it hits it multiple times a second, the actual monitors only update when there is a change

I experience performance going down switching from 1.1.4 to 1.1.5.
Confirmed this by going back to 1.1.4, back to 1.1.5 and back to 1.1.4 again.
Tested with at least two rounds to make sure it's not EnemyAI acting up.

But yeah in that case OnEnable() will set it again, and the ?. null check will handle the reference being nulled out
I just checked going to the menu, not sure about traveling to another moon
but a lot of stuff gets destroyed when loading out of a moon
I would expect the weather effects are included in the asset it loads for each moon
Those are part of the Systems in SampleSceneRelay, which I think stays around as long as the game is loaded (other moon scenes are additively loaded)
and yeah, it'll free the previous StormyWeather when going to another moon that's storming if you just use OnEnable
which isn't a huge deal to keep around, but perhaps if you're doing that in more places it starts to matter
I'll make it null in OnDisable just to be safe

Yeah that deserves a hall of shame for me. I usually avoid calling that every frame as much as possible (as in, 100% of the time it shouldn't be necessary)
But something I assumed would "catch" after searching for it, never did until you landed on a stormy moon, so until then, every frame was doing a search..

Found a bug
It seems that sometimes when using a key and you move too much you can get softlocked, unable to change slots nor opening doors
That's probably related to Issue 56 - I assume you were playing with a host who didn't have GI? Or at least didn't have the inventory shifting settings the same as you? There are problems with desyncs when item slots move around and the host isn't aware of them - especially when using keys.
Some of that can be prevented by making sure the key is the right-most slot possible (so nothing is after it to be shifted left), but other than that, try turning off inventory management settings in GI if playing with hosts that do not use it

it makes the cams look like your normal view. Doesn't matter if your not using cams.
It just disables those cameras using visual effects. If the cameras don't exist, it doesn't matter if they use post processing or not

I just realized I'm crazy and misread what the function did
For whatever reason, I assumed it allowed me to lock doors with keys
Here's an odd one - the way my "better monitors" work is to have a strip of TextMeshProUGUI objects, and a single camera that pans and screenshots as needed each time one of them changes - which is then copied to a render texture and applied to the matching material on the monitor.
In the editor, the camera is perfectly aligned and you can see the margins work, etc. However, making no changes to the camera or text objects, in game the positioning is applied differently
Is there a shader applied to the monitors that warp the image to be more curved?

No shaders, the texture is just being UV mapped to that part of the model, but it looks fine in the editor
I fixed it by applying an offset if the text is left aligned (in the next update) but it bugs me that I couldn't find the underlying cause
aint no way you get 144fps during a round with a 1660ti, unless you don't use HD lethal with no Anti aliasing and using the default shitty resolution maybe

Are you on 1.1.8? That seems to fix most people's performance issues because it was something unrelated to the monitors. If it's still performing poorly I'm not sure what else to do at this point

This is being caused by ImmersiveCompany - they are hooking into the KeyItem.ItemActivate method and manually calling the DespawnHeldObject, which conflicts with behavior when my UnlockDoorsFromInventory is set to true

Moving scaled television is messed up currently, but it adjusts itself after reloading Lobby. Resolution also obviously does not scale
If it's possible to add in an option to read in item IDs to teleport certain vanilla and modded gear that would be amazing. I ask just because we did run the classic "only held item" teleport option but we quickly realized we stopped playing the game in a fun way and just teleported back and forth constantly without any real danger.
Teleporting back with utility gear would make it a lot more useful, but at the moment the only mod I've found that does that doesn't account for modded items
If you could let us set IDs and teleport back safely with certain gear BUT no scrap I think this would be the perfect teleport mod imho

you just need the right itemtype ids
Would these be the same itemtype ids that come up in the Lethal Quantities scrap cfg? The main issue I've been having is trying to find the right ones to add since the better teleporters GitHub mentioned an issue with modded items

It helps make the game more stable and replaces the need for a hunch of diff mods
For example for stuff like expanded lobbies and late joining, it’s easily the most stable option
As a replacement for reserved slots it has upgraded versions of some of the items. Like helmet lamp, which takes up a helmet slot rather than an inventory slot and is better than the pro flashlight, and also a helmet walkie (don't remember what it's called) and some other stuff too. I get not wanting to go through the hassle of refactoring the modpack so I can understand that, but once you go through and check what mods you don't need because of AC or GI your load times and fps will thank you
yeah again I'm aware of what it does but I do think it does a lot more than it should, which isn't good since if one part of it is broken when an update hits it's a lot harder to comeback from that than say disabling one smaller mod and waiting for it to update
since at that point we're losing a ton of features rather than just say one or two

I suppose, you can always just not use the latest version of any mod, it's pretty simple to downgrade version. Not saying you should, that's your perogative, just letting you know it's an option
Not sure if the issue is being caused by GeneralImprovements, but I've only encountered it since 1.19 dropped - I cannot access the terminal, it just doesnt load and hitting esc brings up the game menu rather than releasing you from the terminal

but I have savage company + lethal escape (no blobs, coil, jester) to keep difficulty in place
While also eliminating 90% of LGU but keeping some upgrades
i put either 1200 seconds or 1500 seconds

Because so many people are bad at running terminal
i never used the mod
It literally babifies it to where, again, I don't have to micromanage
But people still mess it up if they're just simply bad
and I don't mean that rudely, not everyone is skilled the same

but people usually stick to the main monitor anyways
With Touchscreen + Labels = I don't have to worry as much on who is running terminal if they're a noob
meanwhile we have 8 to 15 people. one on the monitor while one on the terminal
I sort of consider myself a minor sweaty player and I've done terminal and It gets overwhelming fast with a lot of people so it makes me wonder when people who are worse than me try to do it because it's the "EZ job"

the bracken tends to go into the ship
our terminal operator got nabbed multiple times
and the other guy watching the monitor just saw them get dragged
it was amusing

ended up recreating that thing

Trying it out with combination of the other mods
Getting tired of shooting a dog and dying because it just absorbs a clear shot
I had to adjust the vanilla values because it inadvertently made the shotgun worse
but now the shotgun, as it should be, one shots dogs
