A buyable laptop item that lets you do everything the terminal+screen does (and maybe even use teleporters??),
BUT
is ONLY usable outside (flavored as a "wifi" or "bluetooth" connection).

Goal of the idea:
Saves time (walking to the ship) when opening doors, making actually doing so much more possible (especially solo).
Disabling mines without a radio to coordinate each other becomes possible.
and MAYBE, teleport yourself/others home from afar, (making the normal teleporters more useful [again, ESPECIALLY solo])

(hopefully I don't make too many suggestions and instead actually start making em :P)

Should be fairly simple to implement... idk yet though :P Recommendations for UI would be great

I like the idea, but also being unable to use it inside is prohibitive. You can't disable turrets. I think it would be better if it had a battery (like, a really shitty one. The company just gave you its old garbage), and you had to turn it on and off with Q. It would take a few seconds to boot, and then left clicking with it obscures your screen entirely with the terminal display, making it an ideal time for a bracken to give some unwanted chiropractic care for all that tension in your neck.

There are a lot of other mods that already allow you to "hack" things from inside, but the idea of an all-in-one portable terminal tool would be great, especially if there's teleport commands (which already exist through... I think terminal extras?).

But if you could take it inside, you pretty much invalidate all traps since you basically don’t need to coordinate any planning anymore.

I think the terminal is all about coordination with friends. Making a tool allowing for you to take all of that and do it YOURSELF, IMMEDIATELY is boring

At least a hack tool requires time to hack/solve a math problem (depending on the mod) and proximity (so there’s still a level of danger).

Also hack tool balance is debatable imo

I guess that makes sense for a primarily multiplayer game. I always think of solo stuff because I'm always alone

In solo, unless you HAVE some kind of device to hack stuff, you're mostly fricked if a turret is in a bad spot

Theoretically, whenever you run into a tough place, you can place a Radar Booster, teleport yourself out with a laptop, disable the turret and then teleport back

Well, ok let me rephrase that. When I'm using a significant amount of mods I'm always alone. I do hang out with some people but the most mods they want is cats and skinwalkers
