Apparently lethalperformance reduces bloat in large modpacks, but by itself it doesn't do much
Well it actually is a little surprising considering if you look at the ram usage normally used by LC for its sound usage and extrapolate what it would be if it just used LR it’s wildly different

Even though there is reverb I looked up how sound changes through distance and modified the EQ to dampen the highs, muffle the mids, and left the lows to reflect how sound moves through space

Of the sounds the mod replaces (Which is about half of vanilla sounds) most of them sound different, while others are just modifications of vanilla souds
Hey people, is there a way to track every sound that gets played via the logs? There's a sound that annoys me inside the ship, a kinda repetitive high-pitched beep-like or a small whine-like sound, even if it's coming from vanilla, is there a way to identify any sounds playing?

All the sounds I made I did my best to replicate real science. Like meltdown even you go outside the original explosions you hear inside are eq’ed to cut frequencies based on travel distance. REALISM IS BEST 🤝

Harvesting sounds is a major pain, because I have no idea when most of them trigger
As in triggering them ingame to grab them from the logs
I spent ages trying to track down what sounds loop, how many places they're used in, etc
It would be easier if I didn't have to manually parse through and clean up the resulting log each time, followed by figuring out what even is a new trigger and what are just the old ones
Still wouldnt know, It always seemed like a pain so Id usually just throw Moroxide at it
Average harvesting session logs (30 mins of gameplay) were 100MB
Couple that with chained logs so none of the old entries were lost, and I amassed like 3 gigs of logs at one point
Open into notepad after 30 seconds of loading, enter regex command for cleanup, wait 3 minutes

I've tried three times to make sounds that live up to the original while still keeping the LR vibe, and haven't been happy with it
Oh I've honestly never even tried, I was scared that if I replaced whatever sound yippes rode on that it would cause public outrage
I can set up automatic overrides for any yippee mods
Well now yeah, but it became such a habit to avoid working on it that I just forgot
Also I heard @leaden breach was fearmongering claiming LR was incompatible with yippee ( should be compatible, I hope that's not true)
There isn't even a replacer for the hoarder lol

Tried scrolling up the 2000 messages here recently; but.. Our group just played a session and it seemed like LR was working fine in general, but after we got yeeted off the ship and sat on the ship saying our goodbyes, someone pointed out that the radio messages are default. None of the custom radio ones were present.
Now this might be a really stupid question but are those even part of this mod? We recently removed BadAssCompany due to it being huge bloat (260MB), and just quickly wondering if the custom ship radio was changed by that instead?
...sure could go reinstall the mod but someone here probably knows instantly.

That's the annoying part. It's not consistent. I can play for 2 hours without seeing it, which makes testing a total pain.

So I added LETHAL RESONANCE MELTDOWN with its dependencies, but literally nothing changed that I can tell
No pizzatower music inside or outside facility / no music at all during the last 2 minutes
I'm so damn confused. No errors of any kind in console either
Or is the pizzatower dep just there for the sake of it being there? I literally can't tell the difference between not running LRM and running it, for both grabbing apparatus / the last 2 mins
For some reason the sound files were being overwritten and neither pizzatower default sounds nor resonance custom ones played, reinstalling with new set of configs somehow fixed it.

I'm not a big fan of the off-tune start in the menu due to the Loop, though, but I'm sure it's so I can loop completely, maybe move the off-tune to the end of the song and leave the start normal?

my theory is that when JacuJ added the new menu with both active, they somehow cancel each other out when using the old configuration.

Of alt theme is enabled main theme is disabled and voce Versa, and they're both disabled of menu theme is disabled

and that didn't make it work

I don't like Resonance's old bird sfx aside from the footsteps. Old birds are meant to sound like clunky, aging diesel engines, emitting natural instinct-triggering roars. Not sleek, modern Sci-Fi machinery.

Did you guys found some kind of way to extend the distance a sound is heard from? Typically the Old bird/Radmech stomp sounds are like only heard from maybe 3 to 5 meters? Should be heard from way farther, any way to do this?
That would need changing the actual values of the soundsource. Soundapi can only replace the sound

I must publicly report that I deeply thank @arctic crown for continuing to add new features to the mod. If I had continued myself, I would have only made the mod compatible with the new LC updates along with a few changes and updates.
My main reason for inactivity has been for three reasons:
- First, my computer has broken, specifically the internal fan, so I'm not able to overuse it to avoid internal damage.
- Second, I have been working on other projects inside and outside of Lethal Company, such as a Minecraft modpack with LunarCama (the composer of the music for this mod, who by the way might soon surprise us) and the maintenance of my personal LethalCompany Megalophobia modpack.
- And third, I have become a bit saturated with LethalCompany lately, especially with projects made relatively recently, so I have decided to take this break for both my computer and myself.
I might try to help JacuJ with some things if needed in the near future, especially when I get that inspiration and desire that I had at the beginning when I made the mod with Pixel (by the way, he is still busy with his private life).
Thank you very much for using this mod and we hope in the future to be able to give you news about what this wonderful game has and brings.

I will admit I'm glad I was able to readd SoundAPI and stuff to my pack recently without people getting performance issues, it seemed like MeleeFixes and SoundAPI didn't get along with each other cus it's been fine ever since I removed MeleeFixes. I found it incredibly difficult to go without this mod as I love it and adore all the hard work that you, Pixel, and Jacu have put into the mod. The new sounds Jacu have added for the Old Bird especially are just fanastic lol and this mod since I've added it has always been a main stay for me besides the times where I had issues with SoundAPI
