On another note, you should check the export settings on your daw the next time you're making sounds, pixel. You might have a setting in there that "prevents loud audio" by clipping it, which would cause the awful peaking

Meltdown is a huge gameplay change. Having it as a dependency means anyone that installs LR will automatically download meltdown, which they may not want

Sure thing, I had originally done it just as a temp fix since I couldn't get the PizzaTower version working in my modpack for whatever reason, didn't expect it to blow up so much. Felt kinda bad at the people suddenly calling you out for it lol, but hey, if I can help people with my little fix that's awesome. Fun learning experience
I'm not able to get it to work for some reason, I get this error on startup, claiming it can't find the sounds. Not sure if it has to do with it looking in just \sounds\ rather than \sounds\Meltdown, that's all I can think of

Yeah, pretty sure you don't have to specify the location in the code since the sound API automatically checks all the subfolders, which is how it looks like it's working for the other sounds, so... I guess it just doesn't see the folder for some reason? I've confirmed it exists and the sounds are in there 🤔

Well, what I just pasted works as well, it's just an edited version of what's already in the mod. Just needs to be overwritten and uploaded. Might be good to have someone else try it just to confirm, though.
@small pond Yeah, the previous problem of the voicelines being totally broken still persists. I've tried several different arrangements in the json and it just doesn't want to work. Are the voicelines oneshots as far as facilitymeltdown is concerned?

might be due to meltdown updating to 2.6.0
does lethalresonance-meltdown still work even if it's deprecated? one friend of mine prefers having lethalresonance off but the default meltdown audio kinda sucks and with resonance off it'd just be silence
It’s in the config, you should just be able to install LR then adjust the config so only the Meltdown audio stays since they merged

Same thing applies to any future and currently supported mods as well. LR as it is now that it has a config is designed as an all in one audio pack, but is thankfully modular so we don’t have to spam one mod per addon on the thunderstore

Since our config is different. Our file tells sound api how to generate a config that it uses, not the state of true or false. Because of that if we update it won’t reset your configs!

It's still functional, all I did with the final update on it was update the readme/description stating that LR Meltdown has been made part of the original mod. If that's the only bit that you want from the LR mod then it doesn't hurt to keep it, but I won't be updating it since there's official support for it now. I do suggest using the main mod and editing the config to your preferences as was just mentioned to "future-proof" your pack, like he said you should only have to edit it once so it's not too big of a deal. I feel you on the daily modpack changes though, that's typically what I'm doing for my group as well lol
Or just share the profile using the file export. That way your configs are transmitted

If you're trying to make sounds more directional, having it as mono seems to accomplish that
it ultimately comes to how unity handles audio
plus even if the game ran in like 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound audio, players would need to get the headsets to even have the full experience 🤷

You should revisit some of the monster sounds in the future. Spore lizards, spiders, and thumpers sound very similar
Spiders are surprisingly difficult To get right. I love how thumpers sound, but I’ve definitely been considering a full spore lizard revamp ever since diversity made that change to spore lizard AI. Gotta get rid of those squishy footsteps

Is the game already bugs out sometimes and sounds like footsteps and such get stuck behind you
I worry this might increase the chance of that

Honestly I think it might be an issue with the game just not registering the footstep to begin with

like charging items and swinging shovels and stuff too
