Well we don’t know on intomusic right now yet, but there are other mods to fill that gap. As far as dropship music I’m not sure if we have plans to do that until there is a way for individuals to use the sound pack in a more modular way since many popular mods do dropship sounds
I don’t want to make people choose between their favorite dropship music and LR
the vanilla dropship music is fine anyways, not EVERY sound effect needs to be replaced
The goal is definitely to be a sound replacement, the goal of the pack wasn’t to replace bad sounds, the goal was to provide a complete alternative. However we won’t force them on people when it comes to highly used sounds. An example is the scan sound which is now part of a separate mod. There is a possibility that we will make another mod that covers highly controversial sound replacements and likely mod conflicts sounds as to not force people into choosing between mods and our pack and leaving space for individuals who would likely be bothered by the most heard sounds being replaced. Ie is dropship, scan sounds, etc
Ultimately we won’t sacrifice the goal of the pack, but at the same time we won’t sacrifice people’s opinions as well which is why a new mod used as an addon to cover all other controversial sounds would likely be best for everyone

basically internally it has a clock of how long until it explodes,
so if you do time left/meltdown time you'd get a percantage going down from 100% to 0%, youd have to flip this with 1-percent but yeah.
so 25% would be 30 seconds after pulling the apparatus and you could trigger an event

So I have a question about the Facility Meltdown resonance mod. Does it deactivave the default music or only overrides it? Because the audio settings of the default mod were deactivated (0 volume etc)

you could always make a more Simple Implementation Where you use an apparatus to "supercharge" the ship and make your next jump for free. At least it would be something really making it worth pulling

Like for example, there has been a ton of controversy about the scan sound and the airhorn sound. so once everything is finished except the sounds that people dont like on large basically turning those sounds into an addon pack so those that wish to have the true LR experience can and those that dont want the full overhaul wont

In all 3 alarm clips for inside outside and in the ship the explosion background sounds added are all synced including the air raid sirens, and because you can’t hear the interior alarm from outside or in the ship I can make variations for the interior alarm as long as the new tracks I design have synced explosion/ air raid sirens
but i played around with how the game revives somebody in a different mod and genuinly this game is held together with duct tape

Anyhow, been thinking about the lever sound some and I was wondering if the sound of a double throw switch would be more appropriate? I came to the realization the lever operates as such, and it's an appropriately industrial sound. The vanilla audio sort of mimics a double throw switch, but a cleaner/more robust sound with two distinct mechanical points of contact would be a huge improvement.
For a good reference sound, heavy electrical equipment often use double throw switches, so any large breaker audio is a solid reference (just remember: two clicks! one for the first circuit opening, second for the second circuit closing)

This is a good example of a single throw switch. A double throw switch would have a similar sound as both of these back to back, but the first sound would be partially inverted as the first circuit opens, before the second switch closes. It's hard to find a good example of a double throw switch as it's normally used on very heavy electrical equipment, but the principle is astoundingly simple.

When doing some studying for my new job I ran across some terminology for double throw switches and had an "ah-ha" moment as I realized the ship lever is a double throw switch

I gave an example of a single throw, then explained both the audio principles and physical differences of how you'd translate that to a double throw. 70%+ of audio design is using physical principles to translate to auditory. I mean, Foley work is 100% that.
You'd make a config and whatever true or false comes from that config, it'd auto change the file name so that it'd either be used or not used
Obviously you'll need to tinker with the method a bit, it is both untested and needs some file path changes etc
But other than that as long as you know how to link it with the config you'd be good
But like you understand how difficult that would be to translate such a verbose complicated concept fueled by specific knowledge learned in your high level field into an audio clip without an audio example?😅

this sound is made up of three main parts, and is repeated twice (leaving the reverb/echo out of this explanation): metal friction, spring tension, and metal contact. If you were to take these two sound clips as an example, the first one should contain the metal friction and spring tension only, with the contact sound's "click" being removed, second one is complete with friction, tension, and contact.

Thing is I could totally get why the door SFX grinds on people's ears and while I'd like it back for a private modpack, I'd rather keep that option available to turn off and on which makes a mod ideal. Unless I'm mistaken, which I totally could be, modifications to files like YourOwnSoundPack or LethalResonance wouldn't transfer with codes right? Even then it'd still be a pain to remove if someone didn't like it. I'm also... kinda drowning in Lethal Quantities configs rn ☠️
Sound is a preference for everyone, the sound configs not syncing shouldn't be a problem
Some might might want some sounds on or off
Ideally all controversial sounds would be off by default
Then turned on for whoever wants

like when you first did the meltdown fork of your mod, it had like.. not music but it was ominous ambient sounds and it was just super cool, not saying i dont like what it is now but i feel like it sounded nicer like this

Do any of you guys know a mod that would reduce/cancel the in-game voice chat echoes
This is for a friend of mine that is playing with us, she's deaf and uses auditive device but says that the echoes are making our voices almost unrecognizable, I've search for accesibility mods for Lethal but i'm really aching to find this kind of stuff
Also told her that we could use Discord VC but says that it's not immersive and remove half the fun of the game so.. looking for a echo reduction mod
And i talk about in-game ambiance echoes, not voice echoing between mics

Honestly lethal modding is very much so in its infancy, I would love for these mods to exist, but generally they come up in response to an issue someone is experiencing, ie. Your friend, I would recommend putting in a mod idea as a request in the mod-ideas section

without the change or doppler effect stuff in game. like audio is different when inside the ship and inside the dungeon

Since i'm here, I've been already hit by the idea of using Lethal Resonance but i'm wondering how much and what are the custom sounds added exactly, I wouldn't want to overwhelm sensible people, not sure if Lethal Resonance is going on full horror or is it more sublte/soft than that

B. you some sort of coward? Your gamma is too high
@upbeat hound in the new meltdown update the music will automatically mute, not the warning voiceover. so if you want to replace those they're called warning1 through to warning4, these will also speed up towards the end if you use these

not right now, in the next meltdown update. you will no longer need to ship a config for Meltdown and you'll get warning1 .. warning4 which will use my dynamic system (if custom sounds supports modded need to check that), it wont break your current one but there will be a better way
