In one of the logs, Sigurd mentions being able to see one of his co-workers who died in a bracken attack even though he seemed to hate the guy.

So i thought that it'd be interesting if when a player dies, they get the option to become a ghost. They function exactly the same as the ghost girl in terms of who can see and hear them. The dead player could only be visible for a brief 5 seconds or so with a 2 minute cooldown. When visible however they can talk for the duration that they're visible.

Ghost players can only interact with regular doors, cupboards and facility exits. (Possibly be able to carry an item for the same duration with the same cooldown as bring visible?). It would be hillarious if a ghost player also could start the ship

Ghost players should remain invisible towards all monsters.

I thought it would be a really fun idea.

This would honestly be a really cool feature to add

#

i'm not that big of a fan of the ghost girl part, but everything else about this is awesome

Removed it

The more i read it the more i started to dislike it lol

my teammates can finally hear me yell at them from beyond the grave to stop hiding in the corner of a dead end when a thumper's coming

#

or that they're the only one alive and that they need to solo to keep the run alive, which i can also proceed to tell them that i have no faith in them doing so

#

or i can just scare them, especially if i have the skinwalkers mod and they think a monster mimicked my voice

Ghost players should be able to pop player's heads when visible and close enough

yeah i don't think anything else needs to be added

#

it's perfect how it is now

I think while this is neat. I think it would be neat to have dark souls esque ghosts where you can see how people died potentially. Or even just ghosts players walking through the map and appear in and out

#

I meant to post this earlier, but I never hit send

i would love to see a blood stain feature so i can see 2 of my team members die on the crooked beam jump

#

also what if instead of dead players straight picking up items, instead they would nudge the item, moving it a little in the direction they're looking and play a noise of it getting picked up to alert your team members of where an item is

#

y'know, if you wanna be helpful for some reason

#

i hate how i only make good ideas when i see other peoples' mod ideas but never when i make my own mod idea

People make good ideas together, or from inspiration of others work

#

if this is collaboration im a goddamn wandering traveler

#

if you find something titled "Permadeath "Gamemode"", you can see that i basically made an entirely new mod idea

#

same with one that's called "Vision Skill"

#

another called "Intercom similar to outlast"

yeah that's what i thought, but i basically spent my entire night working myself half to death on mods whose probability to be made is extremely low anyways

#

the only "original" mod i came up with today was a goddamn sound replacement

#

but i see a post with what my little monkey brain believes is potential and i create a fucking hyperadvanced doo-hickey of a mod

So i thought of something. How do coil heads actually work. If a ghost player looked at it would it actually stop moving? (Thinking in-verse logic)

well if we're talking gameplay, coil-heads should just ignore the sight of ghost players. Lore-wise, Coil-Heads decide to not move when observed, but can, so even if they could observe a ghost, it probably wouldn't care enough to stop for it
