what's the difference between your Floppy Disc disabler on your ScienceBird Tweaks mod and the DiversityNoFloppy by Voxx?

the floppy disk disabler part should be effectively the same, only differences are my mod doesnt require diversity as a dependency and DiversityNoFloppy also fixes some issues with the walker on certain custom moons.
so, go with DiversityNoFloppy if you have the choice between the two, I just have that feature bundled into my tweaks out of convenience (and because DiversityNoFloppy didnt exist when I started making it lol)
gotcha, I was asking that cuz I wanted to install your tweaks mod, but I don't know if it could conflict or smth
I ran a test with both my tweaks and floppydisdisabler so I dont think they conflict with each other either
they won't, the intersecting part are just prefix patches that shouldn't conflict

what bugs are there currently?
don't know all of them, but i do know watcher has a glitch disabling the vent cover where it spawns (for custom interiors at least)
of course theres also the performance drop from the floppy disk reader but that can just be removed by DiversityNoFloppy
bracken personal space is still broken the same way it was pre-rewrite
where clients can't be taken and get softlocked until the bracken dies/the round ends
i usually have bracken personal space turned off so i guess i never noticed it
Some custom moons/interiors will cause softlocks with the sus doors the walker has, diversitynofloppy has a fix for that included
I think there's some bugs with the snare flea rework also but not 100% on that

there's also been some issues with people getting stuck in the ship upon landing (mostly a mod incompatibility issue), I can confirm these aren't fixed by diversitynofloppy

in my testing there seems to be an (occasional) incompatibility with diversity and lc_office, yeah

yeah the bracken rework is also great, the personal space is also awesome (when it works)
Never been a fan of the personal space but I like the rest
A big issue I have had is that even just being in orbit solo diversity makes me have 50fps less wich is kinda weird and insane
And the crazy thing is DiversityNoFloppy cuts my fps in half again wich makes even less sense
Simply adding diversity + the floppy mod reduces my fps from 170ish down to around 75

Is there a way to have the walker work on custom moons? I was having big errors and I read it was his interactions with doors on custom moons/interiors so I disabled him and it fixed it.
Diversitynofloppy should fix the big thing with custom moons but if it doesn't then idk

it was supposed to be that enemies would drop floppy disks
and it would be little lore pieces or something
but i never got any monster to drop a floppy

they do drop, but it's bugged and most of the time they appear in the middle of the ship instead
There's a few you can find just sitting outside on a few vanilla moons but yeah a few you'd have to get from monsters
The enemy drops were only from very specific circumstances, to my knowledge ||getting killed by a ghost girl would drop one||, ||one is guaranteed at the end of the bracken's personal space||, ||one can randomly show up in the walker stairs|| and ||i think there's one that requires the walker and its sus door to do its rare extremely niche thing i haven't gotten to happen for you to find it||
the moon ones were on ||experimentation, vow, adamance, dine and artifice|| iirc

Apparently if you manage to get all of them the one you start with on the ship starts working

||It's typically a set number of times he has to touch people before he's primed to take someone to the stairs, whatever you have that set to in config he'll touch people that many times then his next target after that he'll zero in on them for the stairs||
||I wouldn't be surprised if getting touched is a decently chonky dent to insanity that could aid that||

are you getting stuck inside the ship on landing? if you're using LC_Office, check if that interior is generating, that's something which I've found to cause it occasionally

though it seems it only breaks Rorm and Acidir every time the Office generates there, while other moons are fine with the Office generating
but that means I don't have to remove it entirely at least
yeah it's definitely inconsistent, no idea what exactly is causing it either, since it still happens even if the Walker is disabled. only solution I found is just to remove one of the two mods
It's because even if the walker is disabled it still does everything for its spawning, and skips it at the very end. I know why this happens, I will add a fix later.
i couldn't reproduce this with lc office on mentioned moons, but it should be fixed in the new version of the patch

Hello! I'm experiencing an issue with the ||Walker||
Upon making contact with the player and ||sending the player to the Stairs||, the cutscene plays as normal but when it ends I am stuck with the camera static overlay despite being able to move and interact with things. Moreover, the contact amount config doesn't seem to be applying properly as I have set it to 2 but the ||Walker|| still needs the default 3 contacts. If it helps, I think I noticed my vision clearing itself in the brief glimpse between pressing Quit and getting sent to the Main Menu.

As for the config
||It's sending you to the stairs the third time it touches you with it set to 2, yeah? if that's the case that's (probably) intended||

||Once it reappears after 3 touches it'll be faster and beeline it to its target, ignoring any other players, and stairs them on contact||

I do have ImmersiveVisors installed. It's the only mod which messes with the overlay, so perhaps that's causing issues
Having trouble getting the Guy⢠to spawn right now, but if that's the source of the issue than it's a big shame! ImmersiveVisors is a one-of-a-kind mod on the LC mod database afaik

is the watcher considered an actual enemy like any other that takes up power level?
I have it on 20 weight in the config but it never spawns, and I also cannot add it into the interior enemy spawn list with LQ (which may prevent it from spawning since I use it) because it's not in the list of enemy monsters
LQ itself doesnt break it but manualy adding it in LQ might mess with it?

To answer you, it uses my own AI script unlike LC's AI. So LQ can't detect it. And weight works as expected though the watcher has a unique spawn logic which has a lot of factors, like sanity, time spent, and level difficulty.
would that make it a thing of "it spawns like any other enemy and it places its weights in the indoor spawn pool but because of how weird and quirky it is it's technically not considered an enemy by imperium/other mods"?
I'm actually kinda curious now I thought it was some weird deal of "internally it isn't an entity or hazard, it's considered some kind of secret third thing"
It uses the same spawning method as the other enemy but a different logic. And since the enemy uses my own AI script, well other mods that does their stuff with LC enemies won't be able to do much with mine, unless they make a compatibility patch for it.

So I have some bad news...
I was recently working on Diversity earlier trying to fix the known issues with the mod, and I was hit with a power loss due to bad weather. I tried to go back and continue working and found out that the Diversity project got corrupted. The project was stored on my server where all of its data now got corrupted... I don't know what to do right now. I'll keep y'all updated if I manage to get the project back. If not then yeah...

The watcher can't be spawned in with or detected by imperium because it uses its own ai class that isn't based on the vanilla one at all to my knowledge
or however it works I think it was smth like that
Your best bet is to just set its weight to 100, minimise any other enemy spawns and pray

so removing diversity did allow it to generate but it was way slower and laggier
i'm suspecting something else is causing the black mesa issue specifically

To my VERY limited knowledge ||the new place you get taken to through that door under the right conditions is its own dungeon||

The moment I do the generation doesn't matter if it's before or after. Generation always cause stutter if I want to keep consistency when it comes to seed randomness with unity. And the issue with the door not spawning is just modded interior where their door's structure is different and when I try to look into it to add the new door well the mod just errors out and soft-locks the game.

you dont change anything, just press Extract materials and itll auto assign all the materials into your model and put them into a folder you can edit them in
The walker should be able to spawn on every moon if it's enabled/has weights set
