ok, I was confused there, cause i made no mention of chaos at all
just that the walker was kinda targetting me, despite being a rare spawn he appeared twice in a row and both times scared the crap out of me. Then I just made some suggestions to tune the spook/atleast provide some warning that the walker exists so I don't keep getting as catastrophically jumpscared by it.
I did say "diversity plz, have mercy" but that was literally in reference to the mod, not to chaos who puts their mod in their name for ease of tracking down their work I'd guess.
anyways. Speaking of the walker.
when you get sent away by it, does the character still pull out a video recorder...?
I had a random idea not too long ago where it's like an alternate version of one of those mods where you hunt the monsters to get drops. but in this case, you take video of them with a recorder item while they're in an aggro'd or otherwise aggressive state to get an SD card of data about the entity which you can sell. Although it's more risky than bonking entity till dead cause you need to have the entities alive to video them.
but dunno if it's possible to detect a monster's state or that you're looking at them while they're doing something with the camera out to trigger the giving of the potential item.
Alternatively it could just be "video/scan X amount of unique entities while holding Y thing (camera, bioscanner device whatever) to get research data"

yeah it definitely needs to be visible from further away. if youre walking towards it, let alone sprinting you have almost no chance to avoid hitting it

do you use advanced company? their profiles can set up a level to only spawn 1 thing. or alternatively LLL's config, provided it decides to work and doesn't break the entire moons command like it did to me when I last tried to use it.
then you can gaurantee the interiors through configs one at a time and test the heck out of them

I heard that betterscan has a couple of issues, so I opted for Generalimprovements' scan fix as an alternative

What even is the walker...? Is it a cursed spirit? Some sort of cognition based monster that screws with your head when close? A stealth tar monster creature with light manipulation/cloaking that can only be seen up close that just makes you freak out?
I kinda feel it just blasting doors off their hinges doesn't feel "spirity" or "stealthy".

does anyone here know why "MaxSecure" tags some lethal company mods as a "trojan.malware.susgen"? it happens for example with LCCutscene.dll from Diversity, but also with mod like FairAI and CoilHeadStare. Other mods do not get tagged tho, and I dont really understand why and how big the risk is

Probably just some aspects of the code are flagged as "potentially dangerous", like if they use networking for example, as in theory some kind of networking could allow for bad behaviour but it doesn't seem like it comprehensively checks what the mods are doing

I mean if AC is breaking Diversity I doubt you'll see Diversity add support for it after everything that happened. I knew after the aftermath mods will slowly become incompatible with it, and it's not up to mod devs to support it anymore
It's on AC's end to fix the compat issues themself
Cus I can tell you when I used AC 1.1.1 with the Diversity update before all the drama happened it worked, so if you plan to use AC just downgrade it

Well unless lobby control wants to help me adjust what scraps/monsters spawn on which moons it's only really good for late joining based on what I've tested. And I've tried lethal quantities but it's a pain to adjust.
I only ever adjusted masked and coil head stuff so luckily MEOF and CoilHeadSettings fill in those gaps for me 😅
But yeah I can get it being frustrating if you adjust other things, luckily most enemy mods now are adding config settings to adjust moon spawns and stuff
Yeah more monster mods are making so they inject them even in modded moons which is moreso what I try to do. Kinda ruins the vibe of going to some modded moons when you know certain scrap/monsters won't spawn in without being forced to.
AC wanted to become mods instead of being a platform mods can hook themselves to, so many mods need dedicated support from AC to be compatible, which diversity doesn't have

You've gotten a scale of the difficulty i have, by what quota should players be able to max out their perks
maybe like 10% higher player xp gain, but no more than that

i removed snare flea from friends head
with E spam
then after some time some kind of script suddenly dragged him to some unknown coordinates
it was like force being applied to him, shoving him to the unknown direction and pinning him to the wall
so he was stuck on the wall and was unable to move
then he spazzed out of the map and died
i'm not sure if that was because of snare flea detachment or not
oh, and moreso, after he respawned in the ship he was pushed into the wall again
so he had to rejoin in the end

they rely on the funds of the goverments
So they establish delivery/pickup points with the governments and any transactions are handled by the few people operating those sites. Finding info on it from the outside would be looking for a needle in a haystack, instead of everything being connected in some way via "SCP"

I just tested it in the test room with and without it and it seems like there is errors thrown when the player takes damage,
which causes the player to take damage again and again really fast

GI messes with teleporter/inventory stuff, the teleporter mod does too, and maybe some weird conflict is happening between the state of diversity's centipede with one of the mods o- o'

even though in the config I first had it (for 2ish hours) it mimic the bracken spawnrate, and then I told it to use the rarity system and set the rarity to 3. It still kept spawning fast.

If you have a low end laptop, maybe. I haven't noticed any significant issues with performance
This game is more intensive on performance with mods than people realize. If your computer is a potato it won't take much to tank your performance.
Tbf my laptop bluescreened a couple of times when playing diversity but that's aight I guess
To be entirely fair it's always possible for mods to improve so they cause less strain on the PC but that only goes so far depending on specs lol
I can't speak for every modder but I know Chaos works really hard to ensure his mod performs as well as possible.

I have a suggestion for the case someone doesn't want the pitch black darkness setting, but still want disadvantages when lighting changes:
Your eyes slowly adjust to the darkness.
This makes it possible to play without a flashlight while going between lit and unlit areas still cause a problem.
Additionally, constantly turning on and off your flashlight also causes problems, since your eyes need to adjust to the new light.
What do you guys think about this?
If you don't want pitch black darkness then set the value to anything between 0 and 1. Eye adaptation like in Amnesia could work, but no opinion otherwise as I don't know how hard it is to implement.
It could simply increase the transparency of the volumetric that is around the player which makes view distance limited especially inside the dungeon. I find it really aggressive anyway. Anyway that simple value could be controlled by the factors you describe or others.
Darkness adjustment is something your eyes do naturally anyway I don't love it's when artificially implemented especially so aggressively as in Amnesia, even gives some people nausea. Though LC does a lot of low contrast asethetic choices.
I don't really like how vanilla low light vision is done tbh.
You just have a "sphere" around you that has very weak lighting essentially.

From my understanding, not yet, but you can occasionally find eyes in the wall (same eyes as the cover picture for the mod) that will kill you if you stare into them for too long. For right now, until the escape methods are added in, dying in this way is really the only way to actually get out of the stairwell (does teleporting work?)
There will eventually be an end and a way to get out! It’s just kinda nonexistent atm in the current release
No, teleporting does not work. I had cheated in one of LGU's portable teleporters, and while it activates like normal, you don't go anywhere

honestly for just Masked enemies, it probably doesn't even need to be humanmoid since they share the same generic skeleton with players

well it's more like, EmotesAPI works on Humanoid skeletons. None of the vanilla skeletons (and by extension, the skeletons that BetterEmotes uses) are humanoid
So the two paths would be:
BetterEmotes switches to humanoid setup
or more realistically, makes a copy of its existing emotes and converts them to humanoid and sends those to EmotesAPI
or or, since the Masked already have the same skeleton as the player, if you only care about Masked, better emotes would just use whatever method TooManyEmotes uses/used to use to make the Masked emote
this method only allows for masked to emote but would avoid emotesapi entirely since you don't need humanoid or anything
