The bad battery life, niche items some broken but not unplayable items. I always saw that as a little fun thing
The inconsistent scanner being another thing, I doubt a company who sees you as expendable would really invest much into you, but this is just my way of justifying not adding 999999+ mods for every pixel that isn't how I dictate.

Misleading stamina bar is based actually because it's realistic. In real life when you exert yourself you can push for a few extra seconds beyond exhaustion if you really need to (i.e. being chased by a horrific monster) and it makes sense that your ingame character reflects this, being able to push a bit beyond what your ingame HUD tells you your stamina capacity is.
fair enough some people might want an accurate bar, but that's the video-gamey option - not the realistic one.
Tho having the straight bar for a streamlined HUD is fair (I still prefer stylized + lethalemotesapi having the lil guy match your movements is cool)
I use Elads purely to free up screen real estate, without changing FOV or removing visor.

I mean all the opinions on it are fair, but I think that's the most reasonable of all of them.
I might've not used it if there was an FOV solution that was configurable from a menu, so that each client could change it to their liking. Current ones all get shared from a profile, so they'll get constantly overwritten on profile updates.

In all honesty, testing out the three Bracken reworks (Diversity, BrackenReworked & SnatchinBracken) is much better done in multiplayer

Chaos said "probably" on Saturday IF there were no heavy bugs or something. Unfortunately the Walker isn't ready because of host - client issues that came with the beta, I bet that the full release might be next week.
you can test it, sure, but keep in mind that everything works except the walker for clients, seeing with how many people you're willing to play with they may complain about it.
Yeah, you're right, I'll just leave it out of the modpack for now to fix the rng problems (That is unless I could just disable Walker spawns using Advanced Company). Also, there are definitely timezone differences that I didn't account for (8pm is 2 hours from now for me).

I have an idea for jester if that ever gets a rework
Jester would start off in box mode that can be sold like scrap, really high but at a cost holding the jester for too long or make to much sound may cause it to bring its legs and arm out, when the jester starts winding up the player holding the jester is forced to drop it, if the jester is hit with a shovel while its in its popped mode it will go back to box mode

Pretty difficult, it would require fixing all of insanityRemastered's bugs and upkeeping it

THe vanilla moons are not suuuper empty, you can defintiely cook a bit with them. Its just that we dont have to care about going out there and exploring it except for getting 1 log

I looked at the source code and figured out the dev hard coded the plugins directory. this made it incompatible with mod manager installs. you can fix it by manually dragging the dll and asset files into the root of your profiles' plugins folder on the latest version.
That wont carry over through profile codes will it?

no it won't because it's not in a folder.
you have to get everyone to do this for it to work.

Had to uninstall it after using it for so long, thumpers were impossible to hit

But for the last month trying to hit thumpers and spiders was literally impossible for me and everyone else. You could get right up on them and just nothing. Over 20 "hits"

My friend was able to 4/4 hit a thumper
I’m pretty that’s more an issue with the shovel - it’s swing sometimes hits nearby walls, even the ones behind you

It was just hard to believe that because thumpers and spiders were the only 2 who had a hitbox issue and Diversity changes mainly those 2. I'll reinstall the mod and record trying to hit them then uninstall and show me trying to hit them

I think it bugs out the quicksand. It slows you down instead of having you sink. Not sure about desynced weather tho.

The quicksand bug has been around for ages why do we have to wait for a major update and not a hotfix
Fairly sure the system that was causing the bug is one of the ones being reworked in 2.0, so the bug fix is a side effect of the major update. A hotfix would be purely temporary for 1.0, which would be fine if it was a major bug, but it's pretty minor

I'm sorry if that came out wrong, but standalone darkness feature would be cool, I asked if it's possible to turn on every feature and leave the darkness off but I forgot how huge the diversity and the mudhole bugs and stuff

It happens! It's all good but yeah I mean Diversity isn't a huge bundle but it includes some stuff in current version and later ones that cause some issues - with 2.0 I will have no problem using it but currently it's just kind of meh not having it.
Also for sake for vanilla packs, the darkness feature is nice graphics QoL that removes the horrible circle lightmap 😛 That's all.
i think True darkness (darkness 1.0) its to hard if you dont have any more slots mod to have a flashlight, because you dont see anything
Anyone using 1.0 setting don't want to meet the quota xD I always set it around .8 .85 so you can hug walls to see.
it is harder and I think it makes a little bit scarier too. I like the fact that the flashlight can run out at any moment while you're deep inside the facility in complete darkness lmao
nah i only use less than 0.5, in the vanilla i never use flashlight to have 4 slots of items. It is a bad habit not to use a flashlight in general
1.0 made the geiger counter from FM not visible in the darkness so I decreased it to 0.9

Yeah I really dislike the circle lightmap that surrounds the player, objects light really awkward at distance too becaues of it.

Atlass just nice simple moon, nice asthetic - good for like first costing moon. Not huge but nice dungeon size.

I do both
All wesley's moons are amazing, just Acidir is heavy and Polarus will give you a halt on load in multiplayer. So everyone can't touch their keyboards otherwise they'll crash.
Acidir is one of my favourites.
Gratar is beautiful
Infernis is awesome.
ASteroid is a cool free moon, pitch black unless you turn lights on.
With Ai StarLance Fix you can spawn Coilheads outside which is really fitting for level.
Shockdrones spawning outside really suit Triskelion too

Scarlet is on everything for me, I just have higher chances on certain moons and really low chance on most other moons
Infernis + Bunker (more Interior) is really nice
Etern + Mental Hospital but I overall don't like Etern. It's not a huge difference from vanilla map although it does include scrap and lore items which is why I like Wesley moons

Egypt is actually a REALLY nice level, one of the first to release too. I just don't like it because you can't see sinkholes that well on it

Just don't help there's a lot of assets in level that don't have read turned out so produces errors and causes a app halt for like maybe 3-5 seconds depending on system. Just don't press anything and you'll load in fine

It was just a early entry for custom moons, just polished now and is nice.
Maybe 1 desert moon is fine, it just seems less interesting and more bland than other moons

nah you don't need to disable anything, both works, it's just a matter of chance which will take effect
you can experience both multiples times in one run/day
i've tested it myself, that's not how it works. the bracken snatches you, teleports you a second later, then starts acting like a regular not-snatching bracken
i've had myself and my friends get dragged for full durations, or get sent immediately, or what you said
you might have something else messing with the bracken
most of the time though we experience getting snatched more than getting tped, like prob a 7:3 ratio
should probably disable personal space anyways to avoid bugs
meh in the 100s of run ins we've had with the bracken nothing broke relative to it
its fun having both

i mean, it shouldn't be a bug at least in the eyes of snatchin bracken since that config is there since it's pointless to get dragged away in single player when no one is gonna come save you.
snatchinbracken was developed with multiplayer in mind, just like the game itself
this config was prob just added because for some reason, people play solo with the mod and it was just a waste of time to get dragged only to get inevitably get killed
which is also the same for if you still play solo but want both diversity and snatchinbracken
getting dragged away is still pointless, unless you want it for dramatics
not specifically because of solo. if other players die, you tend to be alone
it is a bug, because it's a setting which pretty much everyone has on which breaks something?

I'm gonna be pointing out some things, cross my finger and hope to God that the misunderstandings are cleared out.
Point of adding SnatchinBracken: to get snatched by bracken (slowly die or get saved by teammate) instead of getting instakilled
Point of Instakill config when set to true: to not waste time in multiplayer lobbies (mod was intended for this) due to being dragged when the result will always be death because you're already alone, nobody's gonna come save you.
Point of Instakill config when set to false: mandatory for solo players (mod wasn't intended for this) to actually see the mod work and do its dramatics, even though gameplay wise it's pointless since you'll still die, you're just wasting time being dragged away.
Why it is not a bug when set to true and paired with Diversity Mod: You have a config set to be instakilled when alone. Although the first encounter is you being sent to the personal space, the second instakills you, WHICH IS THE EXPECTED BEHAVIOR. TO GET INSTAKILLED. AND IF YOU DON'T WANT THAT, if you want to get snatched especially in solo, set it to false. IT WORKS AS INTENDED/EXPECTED. A bug is when something happens that is not expected/intended.
It does not break any feature from Diversity. You can still be tped to personal bracken room normally. It still flickers light. etc...
Unless you expect it to snatch you first till you're in the bracken room (not the personal one) then tp you to Diversity's personal bracken room, then yes, that would need a compatibility patch most likely from Diversity itself and not SnatchinBracken.

I get an issue where clients actually escape the room but can't pick up their items from where they got snatched. But the host can see they still have it on them, but they see their items on the floor unable to pick up.

Request: Bracken to flicker lights off randomly across the map - whether or not he's nearby. Have it roll a % chance (default 5?) per 20-30 seconds to flicker the light off (rolls for every light individually). That way, you never know if that light flickering off is because the bracken is nearby, or that the bracken just exists on the map. Maybe have this only happen throughout the rest of the day after a person has scared away the bracken once with looking at them (so it doesn't give away that a bracken exists on the map early).
or maybe have it flicker when the bracken is angry, just like that one ghost game...
