I did this yesterday and just kept going right with scan going crazy haha. Do this with super landmine and turn off the landmine sounds... It's fun
I usually turn down the darkness to 0.5
to keep the horror but if you dont have a flashlight you're not a goner
Realistically you would still be able to see stuff up close a bit in such darkness.
Not to mention lighting in rasterized games not having bounce lighting represented correctly, which would also contribute to visibility.

First clip is newest and second is 1.1.8

Seems to be an issue with the mod not playing the sound while walking through water (just silent normal walking until your head is underwater). Breaks the MoveThroughWater sound to be more specific

We played with diversity yesterday for a few hours and never got the lag that the brackens usually cause
And I wondered if diversity already fixes the bracken
I tested this mod in a modpack that also had diversity, and didn't really notice any performance improvements
i think that mod is mostly useful for stuff like LethalEscape or Brutal Company where the indoor enemies are outside
For me, it fixed the problem with the Bracken standing in one place looking at you

It would certainly be another mods doing. Apart from the light flickering and the personal space, diversity doesn't change or add anything to the bracken.

it didnt fix it but i didnt bother reinstalling it
i fixed it by just installing an earlier version, but as for the staring towards bracken i followed him and stared at him for a good 40 seconds until he got mad
i dont know if this has to do with the mod, only cause without the mod he worked fine

@azure wedge idk if this a known issue or if itβs already fix but it happened a few days back but just remembered it. I had a flashlight in my inventory, turned on, and I killed the bracken with a shotgun while it was close to me and the flashlight got permanently dim.

Yeah. Fell into a pit because it was too dark to see. Not sure if that's the point. I saw this mod in a Tiktok and the visibility seemed a lot better for him, so maybe my monitor's just too dark or something.

just having it as an option to toggle on and mess with a config would be nice. of course if u want u can just disable it and have the other diversity effects on, but for the people that would want something like that it would be a grand time
General rule of thumb is to jump when it is completely dark, that tiktok might've had increased brightness

If you're talking about the interiors being too dark its a setting called true darkness you can change or disable in the config

Whatβs the bracken personal space?
Basically the first person Bracken attacks will not be instantly killed but instead caught and transported to a sort of hallway where a chase sequence plays out. If you manage to parkour through the hallway, at the end you escape. If you don't, you die of course :3. Bracken will only do this once.

is anyone experiencing some weirdness when being abducted by the bracken? My character just stares at the floor for a second or two and then I have to figure out which direction is which to start running.
I feel previously the mod took control of the camera, looked back at the bracken, it screamed, then the camera panned to look down the hallway and then the chase started.

when taking the apparatus, everything in the building gets angry, not just brackens.
things like hoarding bugs, bunker spiders and snare fleas will abandon their spots to hunt down the player.
other enemies that don't usually chill in a single spot get omniscience to chase the nearest player even without seeing them

@azure wedge yo, might have found a bug with spider web where you can't break some of them, and one client walk through it and got hard stuck on it, no way to release him or jump or anyuthing idk if its a known issue

No That's how the AI works from base. All It's doing it's chasing for a player for 90 seconds and if it kills them he's back at normal.
Staring at him while killing someone will keep him aggro that's the thing.
I don't think anyone looked at him, he just ran around killing literally everyone in seconds

does this disable the local player light (ambient light) cause my interiors are pitch black now, I like the challenge of a darker inside, but now even being able to tell where a wall is if there is no light
