Worst api name of all time
A (very early in development) tool meant to support content creation by giving developers access to their own terminals and giving them tools to customize them.
A developer may define a SoftwareDef which allows them to add their mod to the list of loadable software
Upon booting the terminal, instead of the normal splash screen, a list of every available software will be displayed, which then allows the user to choose which mod theyd like to interface with by using the “load” command.
Mod developers ideally have full control over their software, which is a completely new terminal. Customization includes: adding new sections, removing unnecessary sections and in the future even full color and styleground customization, allowing each mods terminal to be personalized to the dev’s needs.
TerminalTerminal also comes with premade special menus, such as the encyclopedia , which allows mod developers to store information about things that their mod may add, wether that be scrap, items, equipment, or whatever. Think of it as a wiki of sorts stored in game
I also plan to work towards a unload system, which allows you to disable/reenable mod content with the game still open
Some other future plans include:
- Unity integration
- A component that automatically adds a piece of content as well as its keyword to a section
And more probably
Please voice any questions comments and concerns, because that’s the main reason I made this thread. My main priority is getting my content mod out first, so don’t expect many updates to start
