Hey thanks for the excellent new update. The alternative credits are a really neat system. This is kind of a niche suggestion, but I was wondering if you would consider adding a feature at some point that allowed configuring the Apparatus Alternate Progression to award a fixed amount of Alt Credits instead of a random upgrade?
Question about the hunter upgrade, which enemies of all drop items? I though forest giants did
So for Medical Nanobots, is the cap increase to the base value each upgrade, or an increase to the overall value each upgrade? (20 base, 30, 40 etc) vs (20, 30, 45 etc)
All but nutcracker, mimic, coilhead, jester, butler and bee variants from what I can remember.

If you didn't buy the first tier, you don't get the first tier.

Funny how it was always like this since release and nobody gave notice.

Forest giant comes with the last (4th) tier of the upgrade. If it doesn’t work, then try regenerating your config. Sufficiently old configs will cause upgrades to have one less max tier than expected

Some small bug with the shopping cart, When you drop all items at once in the ship the items will be left out floating outside when you leave. It still goes back at orbit at least but its weird
So its like not fully registering into the ship but it can be fixed by dropping the shopping cart first
was there a new update? I changed every price and level cap of upgrades manually and it seems everything was wiped in the config file
There isn't an update where there was a replacement for the config file.
There was an update where the configuration implementation was changed, maybe you're referring to that.
Hey got a question. Every time I join my friend in lethal late game upgrades never apply and we have to buy them every time. Apparently this has an unexpected side effect where the host (My friend) gets stacked and has 300 health and bees never hurt her.
Without logs, I don't know where I need to mess with.
Does the game save the log files somewhere on the PC?
In the BepInEx folder usually.
%localappdata%Low\ZeekerssRBLX\Lethal Company a file called Player.log is the easiest to find
or if you know where your modmanager holds the files then in BepInEx\ there is going to be a LogOutput.log file that's more usefull for debugging mods

Both are ideal.
I don't see any relevant error that could cause you not loading the upgrades.
So it's probably the host failing to give you the save.

I configured LGU to only let you get upgrades through selling Apparatices, you can no longer purchase them in the store (which is intended). I only want you to have to use the lgu command to see levels of upgrades you've gotten but it still shows prices, is there a way to turn this off?
i.e. Stop showing prices for upgrades?

He's also the only guy on the group having issues and using Windows 11, so prolly smt to do with W11

You can try taking a look at Alternative Progression configuration to see if you can do that.

his game just doesn't launch with lategame upgrades for some reason, and on a group of 6, its only happening to him

The same thing happens to my boyfriend.
For some reason, for him specifically, it gets stuck when loading More Ship Upgrades.
If he waits a few minutes it does load eventually though.
It started doing this randomly, even though LGU didn't update between the time it started happening
He is on Windows 10
None of my other friends have this issue.
Solution is probably just waiting longer.

Anyone know any mods that cause issues with Lategame Upgrades? I've been really trying to get a big (almost 100) modpack with it, but anyone trying to join me runs into an error while joining.
I'm thinking it's "Enhanced Monsters" since they overlap in offering a way to sell monster corpses, but made the following list of what it could be:

Usually the logs say what went wrong when joining
i can cut out mrovlib, jll, staticnetcodelib, lethalconfig, lethalnetworkapi, and diversity from your list
i use all of those and have no issues
It just says soem shit about "wrong network ID" from what I remember.
I've tried a selection of mods with LGU and it works fine.
So, it has to be one of these mods.
If you can provide the logs from when that happens, I can try giving it a look.

Yeah, but it still functions with LGU and all the other mods.
So I figured it'd be best to keep it since touhou Scrap doesn't work very well without it.
You still should not be using Lethal Expansion at all

touhou scrap needs to migrate from LE to a supported dependency
And considering it's supposed to change alot of stuff of the game, I doubt it goes smoothly.

I'm not gonna argue with you about this. You can't use unsupported mods that don't work properly and expect it to not break when you add other mods that need to touch networking and stuff

And your idea is to ignore what I said and say it's this other mod despite the fact that I have tested multiple times to confirm that it isn't an issue?

I have TESTED with LethalExpansion on, and it works fine.
If there is some other mod that interferes with LethalExpansion that is causing LGU to break, please inform me of the mod.
I mean, there are errors from enhanced enemies but I don't know if it's because of LE or the mod itself.
Plus if there were issues with LGU, it would have an error or two from it meanwhile I didn't find any from the logs.
I have tried without LethalExpansion. It did not work.
I have figured it is Enhanced Monsters because it does take over one of the unique features of the mod.

I'm only seeing an error in patch because their config didn't execute right.
Now if it's either logic fault or something was changed unexpectedly, I don't really know.

I got rid of enhanced monsters, and it WORKED.
I dunno if that German Man on reddit could replicate his errors, but, yes, Enhanced Monsters does go against LGU.

Other friends with the exact same profile have no issues, but for some reason it gets locked on that part
If I wait 5 minutes there's a solid 30% chance it makes it past it, launches the client, but freezes up before it gets to the main menu

of these mods i'd recommend removing these:
- BuyableShotgun/BuyableShells (BuyableShotgunPlus works better for this)
- ShipLoot (ShipLootPlus is better)
- UniTask (not required by SoundAPI anymore)
- LethalProgression (has not been updated since december 2023)
- HelmetCameras (OpenBodyCams is better)
- MaskedFixes (the deprecated one, MaskedInvisFix is fine)
these mods are less likely to cause issues but i'll list them:
- IntroTweaks (i've heard some people have problems with it, but it isn't a uniform issue)
- LateCompany (LobbyControl is an alternative that has less late-join bugs)
Applied all the recommendations, but it didn't quite fix it
Found online that a solution was to downgrade Csync to 4.1 and it actually worked
oh ha it's not actually a solution because LGU just straight up doesn't load with Csync 4.1
Yeah the moment I try to use LGU with either Csync 5.0.0 or 5.0.1, it gets completely stuck loading

Something messed with player controller that didn't let lgu patch correctly.
Also I don't know what's going on with the freeze reports. I had already tried starting a fresh profile multiple times and I never got it frozen.

it didn't freeze the game when this happened, it let me into a lobby but the lgu command didn't work

The issue was indeed coming from my mod BUT !
important to note that the issue was caused by ScarletDevilMansion !
I have fixed it in version v1.3.3. It should also fix other mods compatibility issue but it makes ScarletDevilMansion mobs incompatible (unsupported) by my mod unless they fix their own mod
sorry for the ping. I'm also having this issue and testing what mod could it be in my profile. Dont know why but disabling/downgrading ButteryFixes, it was fixed. I tried it also in your profile, it was also fixed.
I tested only LGU and ButterFixes in a test profile but it doesnt give any errors. so maybe combinations of mods conflicting. dont know what else tho
It depends on the order that it happens sometimes.
If I patch before the drastic change happens, it's not a problem because I don't remove anything that could compromise the others patching.
However if I patch after somebody removed stuff from the original method, I might not be able to patch correctly as I won't find the things I am expecting to find.
It might be that I have to disable a config or something in butteryfixes, I'll check it today
did you also have betterstamina? i turned that off with butteryfixes 1.12.0 and the error isn't happening anymore
me and my friend tried running a modpack with this mod and upon joining his lobby I've had a buy where my screen was black with a green could at bottom left, there was also a grab button on my screen but other than that I couldn't do anything at all, even go back to main menu. After fiddling with our plugins folder one by one we pinpointed that specifically lgu is causing this issue, upon swapping to an old (very old) version of lgu, the game normally ran, but naturally lgu did not work at all. Are there any ideas why this could be the case?
yeah I tested in a profile with only betterstamina, lgu and butteryfixes + dependecies. I got the error.

i agree, i guess it's some inherent issue with betterstamina that wasn't addressed until butteryfixes added the check to stop patching ladder sprint if it's installed?

i suppose it would be this one (on this one we've used lgu 3.12.0 hoping that going back a version will fix it as a hail mary), i hope you can figure it out
also a sidenote, we've had a few different crashed in the console about other mods, but when removing mods one by one only removing lgu fixed it and we see it as almost a necessity for fun

Betterstamina was not my decision, but I have been using it for several weeks now.
if you disable it, it should stop that error
strangely it only started causing problems after butteryfixes 1.12.0
so i guess there is some patch in it that doesn't allow LGU to run correctly

Troubleshooting:
Disabled each contract individually and disabled everything about contracts
Disabled Remnants to see if it affecting (was not)

I’ve noticed that at least on client, if you spam buy multiple tiers of an upgrade, it won’t update the price for each new tier
e.g., go to the lgu menu, select hunter, then repeatedly press enter to quickly fully upgrade it. Each tier will have been purchased for the price of tier 1 even though tier prices are supposed to increase

You're running an old version of the game?
For the teleporter, I guessing something like Portable Teleporters.Behaviours.Teleporter
What you can do is look at the repository and look for the file which has the teleporter functionalities and grab both the full namespace and name of the class.

i think the idea is that default balancing is kinda op and if you want proper balancing, you can change it yourself
I haven't been able to get it to work with any of the names I can find in the repository. I'm not sure exactly what the type of name/id is (like literally what the term is called) that's equivalent to the "GunAmmo" type names for a vanilla item like shotgun shells. This "BasePortableTeleporter" seems like the closest one to one of those names, though I've also tried "PortableTeleporter". Peeper only really has "Peeper" and "PeeperBehaviour" is there any other types of ids for items?
My only other guess is it's possible modded items don't work? but I'm not sure.

I updated my game
if you are on v64 or lower you can downgrade the mod, the specifics are in the mod page. But I would advise you to just update to v69
I genuinely don't know what that error does if you can still use the mod
I think market is the one that increases the sale percentage?
Also the issue related with buttery fixes is mostly due to BetterStamina.
So if you have both LGU and BF, it will work as expected.
LGU and BetterStamina works as expected IF LGU patches first.
If BetterStamina patches before LGU, it will never work as expected (mostly due to missing vanilla field calls).
It only has been noticeable with BF because it makes BetterStamina load before LGU.
Just wanted to clear that up.

contracts happen so frequently like all contracts on everymap their money don't scale with how late game is they straight give 1k from start of the game and they are buggy

Reinforced isn't supposed to make you invicible. It feels like you have something broken.

It's just a bandaid fix anyways, I would prefer people reported the issue with their logs so that I can know what went wrong and fix it.
This is why I prefer the errors breaking the game rather than not as I wouldn't have any kind of reports.

That specific error was due to a mismatch with LGU and LGU's Company Cruiser extension. If you have the same error despite having neither, I wouldn't know what's happening.
The final tier seems to be missing from every upgrade on the list for me. e.g. Midas touch only goes up to 80% now, protein powder can only upgrade shovel damage once and so forth. Is this intentional or some kind of bug?

It seems as if midas touch, for example, only has four buyable tiers now. 20/40/60/80 increase in the value of scrap. The 100% tier isn't there.

What does it mean “selected item in the store”
From what I remember, it increases the lower cap of the sale percentage.
Also the “intern” part of your mod is the only stable revival mod that has survived multiple updates. BunkbedRevive is probably the coolest execution of revive but the creator finally threw in the towel and uploaded the source files, just wanted you to be aware in case you felt extra spicy and wanted to take a look 👀
Probably needs a good rework because it bricked every game update
But I love the concept of bringing the body back to the ship before allowing revive

I do everything I possibly can with LGU cuz whitespike is very consistently active with updates and fixes

setting the price to 0 means I can't buy any futher upgrades though, right? that's what I understood from reading past messages here
And generally his code is the least invasive of the options for accomplishing something so less overlaps or incompatibilities

hello! I have recently encountered an issue where LGU causes my game to take forever to load, the console gets stuck on loading it and my game takes about 5-10 minutes just to launch
I realize I forgot to send an image, here's what my console usually looks like when stuck.
Would it be a slow cpu issue? It sometimes does that until it finally kicks in

So.. LGU started throwing a lot of errors and crashing a lot for me ever since I updated the mods, I somehow got to replicate it in a fresh profile with only ButteryFixes and BetterStamina present
I believe its something to do with 1.12.0-1.12.2 of ButteryFixes as I saw in their changelog that it did something with terminal, But both works fine if I take out BetterStamina.. So most likely its a compatibility issue between the mods that caused it to break

I seem to be running into an old issue that got solved some time back, but I do not remember the solution or what exactly caused it - the bug is that the (loot) icons appear on the ship monitor/minimap for invisible items (iirc, its the contract items that somehow appear like this).
I have tested this for v50 on mod versions (3.6.0, 3.6.5, 3.7.2, 3.8.2) and double checked that I have the right dependencies for each version of the mod by reading the manifest that is downloaded with it when manually installing the mod.
It's only fixed past 3.11.0 release.
The issue is the same as the one raised all the way back here

there is 208 mods but it loads in fine just happens when i exit but the game still saves just have to close the bepinEX log thing to get the game to close
Either uninstall BetterStamina or downgrade ButteryFixes before they added the soft dependency of BetterStamina.
BetterStamina makes patches which break any mods looking for the field it has removed from the code.

Hello. I'm having an issue with better scanner. I'm not sure exactly what's happening but for some reason the "ship and entrance node distance boost" does not seem to be working, in fact getting the first tier of better scanner actually decreases the distance I can scan the ship. I did change both values from 150 to 900 for ship and entrance node distance and 20 to 40 for node distance boost.
For example, without purchasing better scanner, the second image shows how far I can stand on Experimentation to scan the ship. However, after I purchase Better Scanner, the ship's scan node doesn't appear even when I'm standing closer as seen in the third image. To be able to scan the ship again, I had to stand at the distance shown in the fourth image which appears to be the same as the regular node distance boost.
And you aren't using anything else that affects scanner?
For example, Good Item Scan doesn't allow differentiation between outside and other nodes.

That fixed the ship node not appearing but the distance the ship node is scannable is still the same as if better scanner isn't activated
so the ship scan node appears at the same distance it appears before getting the upgrade
The node only disappeared for me after climbing the ladder and going towards the exit.
That spot you're using both showed even when walking further away.

My scenario is that I didn't want to host anymore, so I figured I could transfer my save data from \AppData\LocalLow\ZeekerssRBLX\Lethal Company and take the

- LCSaveFile1
- LCSaveFile1.moddata
and just throw those 4 files into my friend's same location so that he has the same file
It seems to work for the ship, days, scrap, even moons unlocked from Wesley's, but it doesn't transfer over the lategame upgrades we bought when I was hosting. From some readings and context, I figure it's client-side saved and then sync'd to everyone but even when I make them copy over my ENTIRE BepInEx folder from \AppData\Roaming\r2modmanPlus-local\LethalCompany\profiles\ModdedComebackv2, ofc ModdedComebackv2 just being my r2modman profile, it still doesn't work. I figure I'm missing something on what they need to copy over?

like midas hands (or something like that) let's you snowball really fast to absurd numbers like 5-10k every run
also playing with brutalcompanyminusextrareborn which sometimes gives you 1.65x value of loot (when event is hard) or even 2.65x (right now at day 48)
i think the intention is that you should configure modifiers to your preference
base modifiers aren't supposed to be balanced, and the user configures them to values that work better for what they're going for
The default is a suggestion from a guy who hasn't played for a good while, yes.
So the option of changing to what you want is neat for that aspect.

For some reason when I buy the Medic Bag, it shows the info for the Medic Bag and everything looks correct, but then when the dropship comes down it spits out Night Vision Goggles. It was working at the start of the run because I bought a few of them, but now I've tried like 5 times on different days and it gives me NVG. Here's the log file and my modpack code.

having an issue where already bought upgrades are not working for players on day 2 of hosting the same lobby. the host still has all upgrades and they show as bought but the other players dont have acess to any of hte perks

Any idea why sometimes items get confused in the store? It seems to stay consistent with what items it gets confused (Remote Radar always gives Utility Belt, etc). It had the exact same wrong items on two different saves, but now I start a fresh save and it works correctly on the first day. At first I thought it was only LGU items, but I'm pretty sure clipboard phonebook, toy hammer, and ouija board are not from LGU.

The only time I can think of is during reboots with LLL as some items wouldnt be in while the option was still there. It was long ago tho so I don't know if it was addressed in the meantime.

had a problem with the scrap keeper upgrades not doing anything? we upgraded it to the maximum level today while we were playing but had 2 team wipes and both times (even tho it should be 100%) all our scrap items were deleted, im unsure if i just misunderstand how the upgrade works or it its a bug. im unable to really tell if it was only scrap keeper not doing anything cause the only other upgrade was a single upgrade point into litium batterys but i personally dont know how much the base flashlight/compares.

This is a lethal things issue. Some of their shop items are broken and cause this. Highly recommend not using lethal things until it gets reworked. This issue has nothing to do with LGU.

The name I typed was not host, it was other players in the lobby. Host had the correct upgrades applied.
They're the ones that have to type it.

In this case, you (the person typing the terminal) tried grabbing the person's LGU save (the name you put in) and putting into yours.
And since apparently they don't have any entry in the save file, it failed.
I found the issue in the meantime.
I think those issues got fixed finally.

My guess is that something went wrong when you inputted anything to the terminal.
How can I send you the logs?
Either in the BepInEx folder of the mod profile or clicking a prompt from the mod manager that allows copying it to clipboard.

for some reason, it causes non-host clients to get hung on the loading screen of whatever is the next moon you go to after leaving a moon that had Peepers spawn in its scrap pool.
I just tested and it doesn't do this if you buy a peeper normally through a drop pod and then just leave it on the moon, but it does happen if they spawn in a scrap pool. Restarting the lobby fixes it, but still... fun little quirk of using mods in ways they are never meant for anyway

nah if you wanna make fun of zeekerss code then you make fun of the ship navmesh that still lets you just stand where the bunkbeds normally spawn and everything will path to you out on the railing instead of into the ship, or maybe dunk a bit on the kidnapper fox implementation.
Both of which can be remedied tho, so I do hope he returns to LC for some simple and generally mod-friendly QoL updates

for me it is called Peeper and is a trap item same as a landmine (I assume the incorrect entity name was a result of some mishap when the actual Peeper item was still part of Lategame Upgrades)

I tested it like yesterday, it still works. Haven't tested the newer features with it though, like the teleport restrictions until a revived player exits the facility or anything, but like with much joyous LC jank, ya' gotta test directly or just go into a live play-session and hope for the best lol
We were looking in the store and lgu menu but i figured it out it was in lgc lol
it appears discombobulator's shop level descriptions saying how long the stun lasts actually read from the "Damage increase on purchase" config variable, even though the actual stun duration when used obeys the correct stun numbers for initial and incremental in the config just fine.
I also haven't been able to get the damage to behave consistently. Either the config variable for damage refuses to function at all (meaning all uses after the required level to enable damage are stuck at 2 + 1 for each level,) or whether or not it actually does damage to an enemy that was stunned is based on very janky behavior. Tested it to do 38 damage so it could one-shot even giants, surrounded the ship with eyeless dogs, used it repeatedly every 15 seconds, sometimes dogs would get stunned and live, sometimes immediately die. Some of them were near the ship, some were on the railing, others were inside, and their position didn't seem to impact whether or not they took damage.
I think discombobulator's damage effect is just straight-up borked. Seems smarter to use it as only a mass-stun utility instead by just setting the damage trigger to be a higher level than the upgrade even offers to turn it off completely.
🌟 Feature Request:
Add a portable device that players can pull out to easily view and manage their late-game upgrades, similar to what AdvanceCompany had back in the day (no drama intended, just referencing the functionality).
This device should not take up an inventory slot, and could be accessed with a simple keybind during normal gameplay.
Why this would be a great addition:
✅ Makes upgrades easier to view/manage and more beginner-friendly
✅ Helps players track their upgrades and unlocks without returning to the terminal
✅ Avoids bottlenecks since only one person can use the terminal at a time
✅ Doesn’t interfere with gameplay flow since it wouldn’t use up inventory space
✅ Enhances late-game and modded playthroughs with better progression control
This would be a badass quality-of-life feature that a lot of players would benefit from.

an icon in the corner, next to it the name of the upgrade, the description of it and then a bullet point of what the current tier you're upgrading do is doing
if you select it, you get to a buy screen with a list of all of the tiers
and having these tiles stacked next to eachother
it means more screenspace can be used to display the upgrades, meaning less scrolling
which is a win in the end

Love how compact but readable it is. Having the icon + title up top, then a short description + current tier effect, and a clear upgrade button is super intuitive. The visual spacing works well too, the UI doesn’t feel cramped, even with multiple tiles stacked side by side. That’s the kind of intuitive UX that would make this feel like an actual tool, not a chore.
If this layout gets implemented with a keybind-accessible device during gameplay, we’re talking S-tier quality-of-life.

this makes it cleaner for upgrades which have way more levels than others
the top bar being a quick read on what level you have, a progress bar on the bottom, and I'd probably add a max tier listing somewhere, but it doesn't feel necessary imo

Yes.
Person disliked it and asked for removal of mod, didn't work so asked to remove AC from TS.
Afterwards, they saw people were pissed about it being gone so asked to be put on TS again.
Later updates had their changelogs go in a sausage fight over the mod they disliked so TS removed the mod creator and its works.
While I like the idea, this mod is not something I can put time into right now for new features. Life will always take priority over hobbies.
The code repository is however open-source so if you do decide you want to include it into the mod, you can do so through the pull request.
You can also make your own mod which takes LGU as dependency and work it out.
I saw the misused config in the description and fixed it.
The cause of the damage not seeming to work could be due to miscalculations because of the difference of the visual levels and the internal levels, ending up with a zero multiplication.

LGU trying to destroy objects on client is causing issues
i was reporting some problems with lethal performance 0.0.125 to diffoz and he found that it tries to destroy object on client
it's also complaining about trying to destroy Transform component instead of gameobject
I joined the discord to figure out if there was anybody else with this issue but yeah this is causing extremely long hangs when loading up a moon and crashes the lobby for everyone except the host.
huh for me it was landing the ship for entire lobby, but clients did not start the landing animation and door was stuck closed
oh that's weird. for me as soon as the level was loading there would be a solid 89 second hang. This is was with loadstone and BepinEx Fast load

it just started recently because of lethalperformance's 0.0.125 update, which added more caching for entrances, originally we thought it was caused by Tartarus interior's teleporters but then found the errors (in 2nd pic) coming up from LGU contract items
the specific problem i encountered was that clients don't do the landing animation for the ship and the doors are stuck closed
host has no such problem
so when i got the log from my friend who was client and it was erroring LP and mentioning "[Netcode] Destroy a spawned NetworkObject on a non-host client is not valid. Call Destroy or Despawn on the server/host instead." it made sense
it actually makes the suit rack empty for me
but I haven't seen anything in the logs that'd indicate what exactly breaks it

I delete BetterStamina, then install LGU and it becomes empty

A mod called Sciencebird tweaks fixes that problem, it happens because the suit rack is not a parent of the ship.

if I have LL on 1.0.0 or higher version and enable LGU in my modpack then the quit button doesn't do anything in the ship
but LL kind of also seems to break the suit rack and EverythingCanDie...
LGU has been so broken on this file xD. This is my friends health right now. She can run to the entrance in less than 4 seconds. She can jump to the main entrance for titan in 2 jumps. This is so crazy xD

The first error is because code deletion from vanilla which so far from what i know is from betterStamina that manipulates the errored code.
Is there a way to add compat between the two or should I just downgrade better stamina or even completely remove it for now?

we were playing in a session earlier and we restarted while we were landed because someone died at the company building. I already bought an LGU upgrade before we decided to restart, and the money on our save when i went to load it said -661.
then when i loaded into a lobby it completely broke the terminal and would send logs like these when i tried to press any key
the first time i reloaded, i was locked into the terminal and couldn't leave it
second time, it never locked into the terminal and i could walk around, while still typing on the terminal
none of the commands worked either so that save is just completely gone

LGU save is made on autosave.
NV is the only exception which saves when you use it.

really? Many times if we buy an LGU then reload the save, we lose everything else we did, but have the LGU and lose the money it cost us, has got us stuck at negative credits a lot (it wont let you route to company like that so we have to forcecredit around it)

hmm, i havnt seen that, i see it save when its bought, so if you buy at company, leave and reload, youll be in space minus the credit purchase cost but have the upgrade

For some reason late game upgrades aren't staying when someone leaves, it only stays for the host of the lobby
it resets the rest of the upgrades back to zero, but if we try to buy an upgrade we already have it doesn't apply
Best guess is the logs can tell what went wrong there.

Personally I only use a few things: Hunter (nerfed scrap amounts) to make killing some enemies more interactive. Sick beats (buffed actually) makes the boombox a really strong/fun support item. Discombobulater I rarely remember to use but adds fun ship utility. I have nvgs available for cheaper and they're buffed but if you run out of charge they go dark for like 7 seconds, and I have true darkness.
Also a bit cheaty but the separate weather probe mod and force credits are invaluable for when thinks break or weathers are on planets they shouldn't be.
Oh also I tried lockpicker but it was too easy/free so now I use the doorbreach mod with a big variance in amount of times it takes to hit. The (buffed) lockpicker item is still way better, but at least people with melee weapons or with a mine nearby can maybe open locked doors too, as they can be sorta oppressive.

For example, whether the upgrades that are shown are randomized and how many show, progression routes, etc.

Ahh no worries lol. My team is not conscientious enough to manage any sort of reasonable resource allocating or tier trees or whatever so I just have those ones I mentioned constantly on. People still neglect to even use the frankly overpowered boombox lmao.
The needing scrap to get upgrades seems like a neat thing, but I'd be worried of it being too unstable. I've read in here how like certain upgrades can behave very wonky at the best of times.
Gotcha, can actually run the scrap upgrades alongside credit purchases, which is what I've been doing (on unique scrap). Multiple ways to get em.
Does your team randomize the ones that show, or just have them all visible all the time?
I did also try that alternative currency sys and didn't really like it. Just another thing to remember and manage lol.
personally i use every speed and stamina upgrade(running shoes, bigger lungs, back muscles), midas touch is a must have on lategame and deeper pockets is god tier, nvg and its upgrades tho i have so many flashlight mods it almost isnt necessary but before that it was common use for me, drop pod thruster is so cheap i might well just buy it, and sigurd access cuz i dont use lethal casino hehe

Exactly, there are obv exception mods because they're just way too good not to run, but I generally like the game to still feel as vanilla as possible; so, if it's not "necessary" in that specific sense, I likely won't run it.
We just have them visible all the time, but nobody really uses the LGU store actively.

ye for me those upgrades are essential for lategame :3, i love grabbing 4 gold bars and my weight being 4
it makes it so much faster to retrieve scrap without specially playing solo/2 players
i love deeper pockets, being able to grab the appy and just fly with the jet is peak
makes calist so much easier
I do gotta say I use 5 slots + reservedflashlight, and the jetpack thing that lets you hold a two handed item as well.

Ye I just have it that way because my group plays on one save file for a looooong time, and there's a decent amount of people who are kinda bad. So I don't really play with any sort of upgrade curve/progression, just a flat line so it's always a consistent amount of buffs for people. Also makes balancing the game way easier since it's super consistent.
