Will say I have not abandoned this but i also actually hate how zeekers handles ai and bat has been having… problems? And I don’t really want to fix them cause lazy and spent. So either I’d have to code like zeekers which means I’d have completely disorganized code and it’d look dogshit or fix the garbage and being mixed with being burnt out on the game itself idk when you’re gonna see a release

I guess I’ll struggle with how zeeks does ai whiles I’m on break but also an update is coming out soon tm and I would not be surprised if zeekers uses a gimmick similar to him

I don't know much about this mod but I'm guessing zeeker doesn't have much formal education in well organised code as he's just been a successful indie Dev since he was a lil kid - so I can understand that modders have to really chew some bark. As for modders they clearly need some excitement to follow their ego and vision especially considering the aforementioned hurdles. So even though it might be unlikely that's someone with just the right level of skill and interest would want to continue the project - feel encouraged to donate it and your materials/documentation maybe in one of the collab channels of this server. It would be a shame for the effort of someone with high standards to be discarded. But being ok with letting things go is important too, all of us should know that.

the crawling mechanics of the sentinel are very buggy, but what i did was i made animations for each of its limbs moving inwards, and the main movement of the upper body going down, start, loop and end animations for each, and then made each of those animations happen with varying layer weight depending on values set in the animator, controlled via physics casts on the correct layer, but its a little bit lacking...

the animation controller is a bit wacko, and when i tried to make some code to predict the movement location a bit into the future to detect when doors and lower ceilings would be met before it entered them, i ran into issues as it wasn't exactly 1:1 accurate.

i'd recommend using a box cast of some sort or a trigger collider, and using the distance data from that to control the multipliers of the animations,
also keep in mind additive animation, otherwise combining such animations together can be a nightmare, you gotta build it off of its t-pose state with additive animation in-mind
