I know this seems irrelevant but I have been talking to people in game and it seems that a lot of people are very positive about the idea of having games or hang out activities in faction base. Something like a shooting range with a leaderboard, card games to play with friends while having down time between missions (poker, go fish, etc), something to do there besides plink at steel and jump off to the next mission. There is a really great social aspect to this game and while I can definitely enjoy the main game, hanging out with your friends or making new ones is one of my favorite parts of this game. Thank you! If you want more ideas I'd be happy to work shop a list.
#Minigames and activities at faction bases

I love defending Harrison all by myself
I see no reason why this shouldn't be implemented. It's funny and whimsical
I'm against this because of one factor - faction head count on a server.
16 players is not a huge number, so when these kind of things are implemented, they have a significant impact on the number of players in the server instance out in the world.
When half of your faction or more is sitting around playing cards etc. that means you only have 8 players out and enjoying the actual game the devs spent years building.
Can’t disagree with that one
Maybe making it so players can do some/all mini games and activities in COP meaning thaf you can could be attacked while doing theses🤔
Or having mini-games like this at enemy POIs. Like you can play a game of cards at an LAF camp after you've killed them, or before if you're brave
Would lean more towards the open worldiness of the game
I really want this in game but can’t stop seeing how problematic it may be
That only holds for PvEvP mode - in PvE, there's no threat at all since the AI don't attack or even push as far as COPs.
Given what we know of the player figures being skewed towards PvE, that means even in COPs, most players will be unaffected by such a condition.
Sadly, I don't see a way around it - without increasing player numbers (which we all know has a whole other bunch of issues and concerns) this is very much DOA.
Yea..well again i can’t disagree with that
But i think theres way around it
Maybe giving the A.I the possibility to attack COP or even (rarely) try to raid main base🤔
You're right in that AI raiding and retaking COPs would help a little. That behaviour might even be coming anyway.
But it still doesn't solve the fundamental issue the small player numbers per server causes.
Maybe in the future they will be able to increase player number until then I agree its would cause some issues
@lavish tinsel that's a good point, i didn't realize it was only 16 players, I thought it was like 50
No problem - you're kind of right in that there are 48 players... but it's broken down into 3 factions of 16 players each.
If even a fraction of those from each faction were sitting around, that really kills off a server instance.
I really hope they’ll find a way to implement that idea
Right now, I suspect a lot of it is likely down to performance bottlenecks - to run large community events, they literally have to disable all the AI map wide.
Add the heli limitations (somewhat eased with COPs, but still worth keeping in mind) and relative compactness of the major POI, and it's little wonder they've limited the player numbers per faction.
If they could get to grips with those, then it might be more feasible to up numbers, though by how much would be hard to say.
Wonder how hard this issue would be to solve
