#Separate Keybinds for Flashlight and Laser

The current attachment mode system already works well since players can select flashlight, laser, or both through the menu.

However, the main issue is that both functions still share the same toggle keybind. Because of this, turning off the flashlight can also disable the laser, forcing players to reopen the menu and re-enable attachments manually.

It would be much cleaner if flashlight and laser had independent keybinds or separate toggle inputs.

Example:

  • One keybind for flashlight ON/OFF
  • One keybind for laser ON/OFF

This would make the existing system far more intuitive and reduce unnecessary menu interaction during gameplay.

Also give momentary push instead of simple on/off

Please. For the love of god. We need this. Absolutely mind blowing that the most basic things like this aren’t in the game.

I would be happy with when selecting which mode you want doesn't turn on the light/laser. Right now you can't select between modes without turning on that mode.

well you can but its second or two delay to the smoothness of your actions, its annoying and doesnt feel intuitive. you have to hold T, scroll down to turn off the flashlight, back out, turn on laser. its fine, obviously, for EA, but should be enhanced it would make utilizing two attachments smoooooth bruv innit

I think the single keybind would be find, but it'd need to be smilar to how tarkov does it, it's just on or off, not both on or off depending what you've got turned on, then you'd have one turned on, the other off, and then put it on the weapon and you turn one off, the other turns on, ez done, best of both worlds

  • keybind 1 toggle on off; hold to change to different mode
  • keybind 2 same deal

I guess so, but we could also just use the toggle and hold keybinds as they are but, with the EFT style on/off, then there's no need for a new keybind to add to the already decently large list

#

then just put both on, turn both on, hold to turn one off, close, then just "switch" between them

we have devices with multiple settings

why doesn't it work?

#

hold "t" to toggle your device mode (laser, IR laser, IR light) and then just toggle (not hold) to turn it on and off, then set the the current device to do the opposit of what it currently does, tarkov has done it, it does work

#

in tarky you can also toggle between device modes as well as on/off

but why not allow it to toggle a different mode with the same bind to toggle it on and off

#

thats a ton more convenient

I'm not following ngl

#

like, change between IR and visible with the same bind?

round radish
#

yes

#

while also toggling it on and off

#

single toggle on off, hold down for mode change

so, you want (DB light idk the actual item name) to turn on laser, turn off, turn on IR laser, turn off, turn on IR flash light, turn off?

Realistically the easiest solution that is also the most flexible for those that like the current implementation is to just add unassigned keybinds that the player can go and manually map for Laser / Flashlight separate from the 'Tactical' button.
