#PVP - Increase server player capacity.

I think its currently 15 (per faction)?

I think bumping it up to 20-25 will significantly enhance the experience. Of course there would probably have to be another helicopter available.

The main problem with PVP (that ive noticed at least) is that the distribution of players is too scarce. This is why red circles were needed, since otherwise finding PVP was too rare for people who enjoy it.

With a higher player capacity, red circles could be reworked or even completely removed, as natural PVP would occur significantly more often. PVP systems should be developed around naturally occurring encounters, but they are simply too rare atm, with probably only about 15-20 people per server actively looking for PVP (if you are lucky).

Personally I think if there is a future for PVP in this game, it involves more players per server. More natural encounters, more danger, more fun.

The limits are the way they are at 16 per faction for performance reasons partly. In custom servers for events we can run 128 players, but all AI have to be turned off.

#

Theyd have to remove a bunch of the AI probably to do anything more, and thats im sure a total no-go, as the game is specifically a PvE first tactical shooter, and all content, even in PvEvP, is PvE based.

Personally, I think the better use of performance hogging resources would be for increasing render distance past 400.

#

I think that'd improve the entire game more than more players, and expand the sphere of combat in PvP making it much more dynamic

#

You'd hear people further, see people further

#

And that'd help find action

pine maple
#

That’s true as well. We will have to see what’s possible.

Totally, the future is bright

The map is too large for the number of players it can accommodate, to have a good pvp, due to technical reasons. A solution could be to divide the map into smaller sectors, each sector having the same player limit as a server. This would increase the player population.

until UE 5 can be fully optimized

#

I dont think we will see an increase in the playercount per server

Dayz is 64 players per map. The map is huge. It gives you a sense of not knowing when you will see someone. You can’t expect it. And that is what gives it, its charm. PvP is unpredictable. I like that. I came from dayz and i hope they keep it that way. Sure maybe increase it a little more but not to the point where it becomes predictable that when i go to a POI i know i will always have to PvP. Right now It does have that unpredictability in gameplay. If it starts to become another predictable battleroyale style then its boring for me.

#

But i also want to see more incentives for pvp. Big picture objectives that players can work towards in terms of pvp. Capturing cop to secure a landing zone. Or destroying objectives to cut off enemy faction supply such as access to certain items. Like food medicine ammo etc. or something that add more depth to pvp.

#

Player count isn’t the issue. The issue is why fight?

#

For fun isn’t enough. It is fun for a while but then its whatever. Especially when you can just respawn and come right back to your body in a couple of minutes.

prisma nexus
#

some may fight to loot gear from the enemy?

wooden magnet
#

What draws people to come contest an area

#

Right now it is not enough of an incentive

prisma nexus
#

maybe greed

#

they want to get as much loot as possible from an area and will not allow others to take it

wooden magnet
#

Come on man think bigger than this. Imagine an enemy faction AI patrol that is hauling ammo from A to B. You kill them and you deny enemy faction from buying certain ammo for a period of time. Players will need to defend the supply run from point A to B to secure the ammo supply.

#

This gives depth and meaning to a military shooter

prisma nexus
#

idk I never played the PvP mode before

im a PvE guy

wooden magnet

Random events that arises. And have impact towards the bigger picture of the faction

prisma nexus
#

random convoy carrying high tier loot

wooden magnet
#

Players will be notified in advance to prepare for the event

wooden magnet
#

Or bigger impact than that.

#

If you lose the convoy

prisma nexus
wooden magnet
#

You lose the ammo supply for the vendor

#

And vender will resupply slower

prisma nexus
#

if you successfully complete it you will get the loot + mission award

wooden magnet
#

YES exactly

prisma nexus
#

high risk high reward

wooden magnet
#

This will make pvp more interesting

#

More things TO DO

#

Meaning

prisma nexus
#

having to fight both ai enemies and other players

wooden magnet
#

Behind every interactiob

#

YES

#

So i hope they think about this

prisma nexus
#

same

wooden magnet
#

I trust it will come out good. 0.4 is absolute gamechanger i enjoyed the update

prisma nexus
#

it will make the world feel more active and alive

wooden magnet
#

i hope the do the same with pvp

prisma nexus
#

cause rn the ai is pretty static

prisma nexus
#

they dont move much

wooden magnet
#

more player interaction on the field. More incentives to actually fight

#

More meaning behind every move

#

Since

#

“Every move matters”

prisma nexus
#

oh boy I hope they take this into consideration

wooden magnet
#

I trust them. They are great dev.

i’ll gladly take this over 30 more guns and attachments.

I'm going to give some general feedback for life here: if you can't describe what you actually want, then making random suggestions for how things could change is not helpful or productive because then it just sounds like your suggestions are random.

"Just be different" is not something that anyone can work with - least of all the devs.

Can’t they do server meshing like star citizen lol? Just a thought

True, and I think there are more feasible solutions to improve PVP (incentives, world events, etc).

But it is worth nothing that in GZW, you only have 32 enemy PMC on the map at an absolute maximum. Now consider that at the very most (from what I have seen from my playtime) 50% of those players are trying to engage in PVP.

That leaves you with 16 enemy PMC to PVP with (if the server is 100% full). On a big map like GZW, thats nothing.

Having world events or other incentives would really help bring those players into a more concentrated area of the map, and if it is technically feasible, I think a 20-25% bump in server capacity would complement it well.

coarse grail
#

World events would be a good way to naturally get people to congregate, but those should be im both PvE and PvEvP.

pine maple
coarse grail

I dont think that much matters. The events dont have to be ridiculously lucrative. Theyd still accomplish the goal though because the more people the more loot, so itd be more lucrative in PvP by that alone

though I do wish for bigger server size so I can encounter more players while exploring the world

You didn't answer my question.

If you have trouble finding PvP then that's a skill issue on your part. If I'm on a full server I can find a fight in 15 minutes easy.

If you want more organic PvP where tasking is constantly interrupted by player fights then I disagree. The game would be much worse if that was the case. Zerging would make tasking basically impossible and fights would be extremely lopsided most of the time.

The ratio of players to POIs is in a great place right now IMO. Spontaneous fights are much more exciting because they don't happen every 5 minutes.
