Player vs. Player (PvP): Upon death, your gear remains on your body for 10 minutes. This window allows for a recovery attempt or for the victor to loot. After 10 minutes, the gear is "claimed" by the nearest AI or the AI that spawned in that sector or map.

Player vs. Environment (PvE): If killed by an AI, your equipment is immediately transferred to that AI (or the nearest one), forcing you to hunt down the specific unit to get your gear back.

And where would all this gear be stored? in their fanny packs? Not only would this force you to bring another gun to get your gear back, but the only way to make something like that realistic would be for them to equip your gear, meaning you'd be shooting, and destroying, your own gear when you go back to get it. The durability loss is bad enough as it is... we don't need anything else adding to that. And what would be the purpose of this, anyway? In what way does it improve the game?

I kind of like the idea. If we can loot the enemy, why can't they loot us.

I think this would need to go hand in hand with a larger update to AI behaviors that add more objective-based movement and looting behaviors.

A good example/reference would be something like AI PMCs in EFT / SPT-SAIN. Those PMCs loot the map, do quests, and loot their kills like any other player.

# robust cedar Currently the game has no difficulty, dying or staying alive is just a matter of...

Difficulty is a matter of tweaking AI, which they've been working on. I don't understand how the extra ass pain of having to track and kill the same AI that, per your comment, is too easy makes the game harder or more fun. It's the same body run, just with an extra step. I'm not trying to shit on the idea. Just don't understand the logic behind it. If you want extra difficulty in the game's current state, just use shit weapons or, as iFound suggested, don't go get your gear back. Consider it lost, so deaths hurt your wallet. Idk. I wouldn't complain if they added something like this, but just seems like a waste of development time if the goal is difficulty.

"Immediately" so....how would this function for a player who explodes, Redeploys, or dies from fall damage? Having to search potentially 2-300 meters in a circle around my body after getting some sketchy physics with rocks/tree roots cause me to suffer a Fatal Fall is not my idea of a fun and engaging gameplay experience (especially when said gear already has the challenge of finding where the body landed)

In all, the idea is extremely flawed, the AI must have an AI package to go towards a dead player in order to loot select items and not just become a clone of the player's last life, especislly given some players will be geared worse than the AI (notable when comparing players to LLA Sgts or RSB Sgts, or just LAF as a whole)
