Game needs convoys with good loot to ambush, ai needs to be able to use vehicles in general like we see in far cry 2. Wild animals to hunt and be hunted by. I simply want more things where i can say screw the tasks and forge my own adventure.

It's not clear that vehicles make sense - since we have multiple quests that tell us there's no fuel available on the island.

And personal hard no to hunting. This isn't a hunting and survival game.

There's stuff to do outside the core quest line and more will come with future updates.

The game is really barely developed tbh, a lot more is coming which will fill the world with many things to do and focus on.

Hunting is cool though, there should be a protected animal for us to poach

#

You know like how foreigner usually do

#

What are they gonna do? Call the cop?

There are actually hunting sims to go play, don't need that in gzw.

river patio
#

Why exactly would PMCs deployed to deal with a conflict decide to go hunting.

We hunt people, not animals, much more entertaining game, most importantly what animals would there even be to hunt? It's fairly clear that a lot of the local ecosystem was DEVASTATED by "The Incident."

"I really wish there was a certain group of people willing to go out and collect animal data samples for me!"
The humble PMC:

#

it doesn't even have to be the focus of the game, just a small side objective that nets you some rewards from lab rat

Still we should be able to kill animal. Poaching is a fun activity.

It's just crazy to me anyone would consider going hunting in an active warzone within the vicinity of a major radiation event.

Does the lore say something about where the little birds refuel at?
it's a 420km island and acording to the internet it can fly 331 km, acording to questline even the PMC factions are running low on fuel and supplies, so if the PMC factions don't have a way to get supplies out of the island even them lorewise wouldn't make sense to have those birds flying around, but hey, it's a game at the end of the day, so how about we focus on the what will make the game more fun, alive and engaging to the playerbase instead of nitpicking everylittle word written in the lore?

#

clearly new content needs to match the game setting at least

# modern rock i'm pretty sure YBL has a generator, probly runs on magic as well, oh well

If you want to pick that fight, I would hasten to point out there is no indication that YBL is actually powered from that generator.

For all you know (and there's no contradiction in quest info to this), YBL is powered externally from another power generation facility elsewhere on the island, such as the wind farms or some other off map facility.

Either way, you're magicking excuses into why vehicles are possible when the devs have flat out said there never will be any, either player controlled or otherwise, and given background lore as to why.

modern rock
#

not defending vehicles, defending dinamic events

#

idc what they will be, vehicles, planes, choppers, UFO's, just something dinamic to spice things up

#

i understand there is and outside source of energy in lamang after all there are all the turbines and all the houses and street light have powers

tranquil turret
#

Would be so nice to have things like that in the world. Would make it more alive.

The game is 1/4 finished, the lack of life or things to do is more a result of the current state of development rather than lack of awareness.

wheat gate

#

or better, the aliens are bringin in the fuel from outerspace

wheat gate
#

Im giving an explanation as to why things work the way they work in a game that's 30% finished, snark doesn't get anyone anywhere.

Besides, if the locals had fuel maybe they wouldn't let their YaKs go to waste like that and would be bombing us.

modern rock
#

have you never seen vehicles that run on diesel or gas or some other fuel?

#

pretty sure those yaks use a diferent kind of fuel

#

meanwhile generators can use gasoline and vehicles can use gasoline as well

#

but like you said, it's an unfinished game, we don't know where the devs are going with this

#

at any point in the development the devs can go, "now we have snowstorms in lamang"

wheat gate
#

Now you are going into far too much depth for a fan-fic. Again, YBL is likely being misunderstood.

modern rock

#

i'm pretty sure about this

#

also there is a quest that tells you to turn that generator off first to be able to pull out a air filter from a machine

#

so if that generator doesn't turn stuff off in there idk what it does and why it was important to turn off for the quest

#

inconsistencies everywhere

#

anyways, the future of the game is gonna be decided by the devs, and definitely not by me, so whatever happens happens, i just hope the game keeps being fun

There is such a thing as redundant backups in bunkers - if mains is no longer available, then they are there for that exact purpose, to provide power for the installation.

But given the supply isn't disrupted (as virtually every other building on the island still has power), there's no need for the backup to be active. For all we know, high voltage cabling could be coming through the FN Tunnel (despite being impassable for us).

#

As for why you disconnect it from the bunker circuits for the air filter, probably a maintenance thing, depending on how the bunker circuits are wired to the HVAC.

To the people downvoting more mechanics that create immersrion and non combat play....tf is wrong with you? "no me only want shoot gun, bang bang, no immersion!". TFOH

#

Survival is part of being in a milsim, a group goes into the jungle out in the wire.... there will need to be more deeper survival stuff as long as it isnt taxing. I vote hunting and a fire for more food options if you get marooned in the deep jungle.

#

It would be optional, you wouldnt have to do it.

Well his three suggestions were vehicles (MFG said not happening), convoys.to Ambush (Ambushing convoys in games without AV explosives is always bland, also thats vehicles) and hunting animals.....what animals COULD hunt us? The Incident has caused a LOT of death to the creatures to that the canine population is gone, and I can't imagine any jungle felines had it any better, birds would just be annoying so what? Frogs? Spiders? Don't think anyone likes the Camo+Neurotoxin one shot meta real life critters have, now imagine just randomly dying to a spider that bit ya 27 minutes ago without warning or counterplay?

#

(Also using TFOH with people merely expressing a different opinion is in poor taste)

Survival mechanisms make sense in the game setting if we didn't have readily available food, shelter or water - all of which are provided by the FOB and COP systems and all of which are within at least half an hour of any major POI in game time (and less IRL).

Provisions are also readily available out in the game world, so hunting for food purposes also makes no sense.

Simply put, there's no reason for these to be in the game, since it's just adding dev work (which is both time and money) for the sake of it.

I am a poor taste guy I Guess. So keep the game the same, add no other elements other than the vanilla combat that we have now? There are animals, you can hear them constantly and hear dogs. I would personally like a camping mechanic and heating up your food or purifying water from a stream. Again something you dont have to do but you can if you want to add more immersion. Think of Red Dead 2, all of the immersive world events. I would enjoy something more than the game has to offer. The current bland walk to point 1-10 and find thing and click on it and then fly back to base to turn in said thing is extremely dull. It is fine but they have to add something more. You can also eat plants btw. I would like and a lot of players would like more immersive world elements however they may implemented. All of you negative Nancie's who poo poo any and all ideas dont really help anything. If you want to play call of duty and have a simple game of move and shoot that's fine. Tarkov-likes are more than that usually. The PVE mode needs more as well.

"You don't want what I want therefore you want the game to die!" Type fallacy.

We want our immersion, we want our expansions on the gameplay, but we gotta understand where limits should be.

Should also be noted the regions and contexts shown betweeen RDR2 and GZW are completely different, a very clean American countryside during the Manifest Destiny Era vs a Southeast Asian nation in the modern day with an unknown freak-incident, I'm shocked we aren't wearing CBRN gear as we patrol the jungle tbh.

Soldiers are very, very suspect of their surroundings, and if there was a rumor abound that the water was toxic with radiation, probably would see them not even touch the water if at all possible, ESPECIALLY with what we see in the FN Infirmary during that questline.

Not to mention that the line of, " I need to see that lab chick, I've had the shits for days! "

Local food might give someone a case of food poisoning, or if you have a particularly sensitive stomach you might have bowel issues, but as someone who lives and works in places other than the US, locals don't tolerate bad food.

If everyone is coming down with bowel issues, it very well could be that the food is the issue, but not because of standard hygiene contamination. Maybe it has something to do with the weird growth you find in the UN Lab.
