I don't strongly object to this, but we have to recognize that the concept of "I only need 700 ml" isn't something that your player possesses - and it may not be something we should be optimizing for for this reason.

They know they've been hurt and "lost a lot of blood" - to the point where their faculties are impaired. Yes, the effects do worsen, but do we really think anyone is going to have the ability to gauge the amount they need to put back in to "feel better"?

Seems like a stretch.

In Grayzone Warfare, you know exactly how much blood you've lost, down to the milliliter! How? Because it's clearly visible in the bottom left corner... No one would pump 1000 ml of blood into their body if they had only lost 600 ml. Besides, blood is expensive in the game, and it's also a question of cost. As long as I have a scale in the game that shows me how many milliliters of blood I have in my body, I should be able to pump in exactly as much as I want... I wonder if we're talking about the same game.

The choice you make with that last 200ml is "do i want the 200 NOW and waste whats left, or do i just let the last 200 regenerate" since that'll take only two minutes, and my vision is perfectly clear anyways due to only missing that small amount. Question becomes is it worth further developing the blood to that specific level of detail, or is it fine to have to make that choice. Personally, im good with having to make that choice.

....Wouldn't the Transfusion kit become contaminated after the first use in this hellhole? That's why there is a cap on the needle, which our character, if memory serves, shoots off into the moon....been a hot minute since I blooded myself so idr exactly.

I really don't think it matters, so what if you waste 200ml of blood. Just bring/buy another bag.

Yeah, if I need less than a full bag I probably will let it regenerate.

Counter-arguments are just stronger. Just because the game provides meta-knowledge, doesn't mean your character would know. You don't need full blood-levels to get rid of the symptoms, and blood regen over time, so no need to go full. Needles would get dirty af. And OP argues/argued in really bad faith, making it hard to put even some good faith support behind this. Regardless of my last point there, the counter-arguments are still just better.

On the contamination, just pretend that a new needle is pressed on that the camera can not see.

I am on the side of this adds one more click to the action, that is unnecessary.

For bulk storage, maybe a bag that can be used like that, but at the same time, the refilling kind of goes with all the arguments of contamination.

On the brain surgery, I always think about it as head damage, and stitching wounds on the head, not brain damage, as that would kill you.

If we needed this system, why would we not also be demanding partial eating and drinking of things. Well, I only need 25 water, so I am only going to drink half of this Grayzone energy drink.

Sliders for blood are too much for me.
We can regenerate like 250 ml of blood quite quickly, and adding that much back (from partly used bag) doesn’t really affect gameplay, except for that brief moment when we’re right on the edge of the low-blood side effects. But even then, we regenerate past that point pretty quickly anyway, if on the edge. And if we need more time, it's better to break contact to regenerate rather than pump blood under fire anyway.

I feel like it falls into contamination rules - like a bandage - once opened shouldn't be used twice.

Obviously we're not doing brain surgery on ourselves so that point is just kind of ridiculous, it's a head wound if anything. And at least from my perspective, you're only really doing surgery on someone when they're in a coma and needing to be revived.

Don't we already have multi-use out of the large blood bags anyway? That just leaves the smaller bags, why would you use only half of a smaller bag?

As far as the whole blood contamination point, there does need to be some leeway regarding this. Blood needs to be refrigerated to remain usable so the idea that we're all carrying around liters of blood in the scorching hot jungle is ridiculous on its own accord. During my deployments, we were never issued blood bags filled with blood. If someone needed blood really bad, you'd get it from someone else with you in the field which obviously came with its own risks, but if it was really necessary, you did it.
