Serious question: how frequently do you predict that >4 players would want to go to a friendly controlled large COP?

COP or it's own special LZ, doesn't really matter. But it would be nice to have an option to move a larger group of people around the map quickly. For example the many times I've recruited people at main to storm FN with me. Having it's own LZ closer to higher tier areas like FN or TB would be interesting. More of a large assault vibe than small tactical insertion

the blackhawk I'm fine with, but the humvees would be at a much later date since it's in the game lore that all of the gasoline on the island is siphoned out, and the helis we have now aren't from lamang

I'm not gonna immediately discredit vehicles unlike a lot of people, since it's early access and lore can change, but that might be a few years down the road realistically, if at all

another thought on ai vehicles is having them tied into world missions. for example a supply truck gets stopped by flip floppers which halts respawn of goods timer or something like that until your PMC clears out the problem. obvs that's a big system to implement but its all just ideas here.

The problem here is the entire game is built around a maximum 4 person squad, even the dedicated squad missions.

As such (as you've said), the only possible use case for this is putting together a large scale raid, which while fun, isn't the primary focus of the game.

With regards to vehicles of any kind, in various different streams the devs have straight up said they won't be adding them - they want us to walk and explore on foot.

Well yeah the bird would have a specific use. Regardless of what it is, it's just a more niche version of what we already have. Ultimately doesn't negatively affect what we already have but gives a little variety in the way we do what we are already doing, getting a ride to one place to the next. As for AI vehicles rolling around, same thing. If its just a truck rolling from base to outside one of the starter LZs, is it really changing core gameplay or current focus? all just adds some variety to the things we already do.

I think we'd have to wait until 1.0 to see if vehicles are even a good fit for the overall story. I mean judging from what I've seen in a few of the snippets, anomalies are going to be a thing which could adversely affect vehicles or essentially make them useless should they be added. We just don't know at this stage.
