This tier of trader would only be accessible by selling and buying from traders, similar to how leveling up vulture works.
Their wares would open up in this level to more end game equipment which is currently impossible to buy.

In order to make it a grind, my suggestions on their rep points required would go as:

Handshake - 14,000 rep
Gunny - 9,000 rep
Lab Rat - 6,000 rep
Artisan - 5,500 rep
Turncoat - 7,000 rep
Banshee - 6,000 rep

Each trader would sell their respective trades of either gear, guns, or ammo.

Handshake - selling 3++ rigs, belt bag, MM Trunk
Gunny - Black tip ammo, MOE buttpad, high range mortar, Vudu
Lab Rat - Fenethyl, Strychnine, higher tier food and water items
Artisan - BP 7.62x39, SR and AP 7.62x54R, Modded SVD's
Turncoat - M2 Rig, BS and BP 5.45x39, Rush bag
Banshee - MM Ammo Box, M61 7.62x51, .300 BLK AP

Restrictions:
The rigs and belts can only be bought once per reset
Ammo can only be bought in stacks of 30 per reset
Rush bags can be bought 3 times per reset
Weapon parts can only be bought 3 times per reset

Any ammo will have a steep price of over 25 dollars a round.

Honestly having a tier that's normally loot only but really hard to grind to would be good for those of us who main Grayzone. Currently its pretty easy to level up vendors so having the jump from 4-5 being high would be cool.

Making the rarest gear buyable no matter the grind to achieve that ability would seriously offset the current progression imo.

Some gear should always be loot only imo. Having an in game tier of players that just perpetually have access to the best gear would make it just that much more brutal for all the casual players who make the majority of player base feel isolated. But having bigger goals to grind towards is cool too. I'd love to see maybe like an item of the day for each vender. Maybe a random high tier item they don't normally offer. I'd much rather perfer a system where these items are rewarded through one off hard missions that are maybe randomized or like a weekly quest, etc. just my two cents though.

I think that black tip 5.56 should definitely be available to buy, but coming from someone who does it (not anymore) I can say somewhere over 50% of black tip 5.56 in this game is from farming faction base camps.

friend of mine has literally 15,000 rounds of it stashed up

Wow that's crazy

What in the world is black tip 5.56, you mean M855A1?

Totally on board with this, but I think 120 or 160 of each type of round per restock would be better than 30 as that number would almost be negligible to main base farming gains

Im in the boat of the top tier of items should be loot only. That way youre not giving the big advantage to those who are able to grind the longest, and every player from day one has the same chance at the best stuff. Otherwise, you seriously mess up the balance for anyone just getting into the game when the people more long in the tooth just can go buy the best stuff.

I dont honestly see how that comes into play in not wanting people to be able to purchase the best stuff. Being able to get stuff on PvE doesnt really effect it, you should have to do the legwork for the best gear in either mode. Thats just my opinion on it.

#

And really, best way to fill your stash with good gear is actually capturing enemy faction major COPs anyways. M4s, high end ammo and good armor. All instantly able to be stashed. PvE is no longer really the best gear farm.

# worthy hollow Faction Base Raiding?

Not as quick, you have to haul stuff back to stash it. With COPs, you kill, stash right away, scoot, repeat. Much easier AND quicker

On an aside, faction base raiding in PvE needs to go away anyways IMO.

100% on PvE base raiding.

rotund bloom

Take away PvE base raiding and 90% of the "its too easy to get gear on PvE" goes away

I’m not convinced. I don’t believe most ppl that make this claim have any first hand knowledge and are largely repeating complaints they’ve heard from others.

And that’s before you remember we have ZERO way to even measure this behavior that’s being claimed is this huge problem.

#

It’s really just a boogeyman.

rotund bloom
#

Its just the most common example people use, and honestly the only one I really feel actually holds weight. Though, as I stated above, COP farming in PvP is faster, easier, and more lucrative

#

Personally, so what if they take PvE gear into PvP. You want kills to be loaded with stuff to take right? Thats kinda my stance on it overall

#

Kinda off topic for the suggestion though so ill leave ot there

# wet stump I’m not convinced. I don’t believe most ppl that make this claim have any first ...

I do it. I am not afraid to admit it. Occasionally, I will do it, rarely. I have literal first-hand knowledge of how to do it, its not that hard once you get an insider, and just the general hang of it. I've made over 100k selling their base AI's gear to the players, because you can actually hop over the wall that is right behind the base gym instead of hugging the gate. This makes you immune to mortars, and especially during the night, you can just walk right behind AI and they won't notice you.

#

Especially going on asian servers, you can see base raiding is more abundant.

Do you want to see it?

I don't know how to embed but if you want to I will DM you

The real problem is profit. Otherwise, I believe the dev's have stated that they do not want to get rid of base raiding.

Then why would you reply to my comment on base raiding?

#

Making it very hard for me to understand what your trying to get at

In fact the devs have stated the complete opposite that they're aware it's an issue that eventually needs addressing.

worthy hollow
# strange crow In fact the devs have stated the complete opposite that they're aware it's an is...

I was saying that intrinsically, they don't want to remove base raiding because it restricts player freedom. I think you mixed up my statement for the fact that people farm the AI for loot, which should be removed, not the actual mechanic itself. Riloe, a very close content creator to MFG stated that it is a feature, but the dev's just don't know how to properly implement base raiding yet - furthermore, addressing it by removing it completely apparently isn't their plan.

strange crow

I don't think it should be a thing at all, but that's me.

rotund bloom
#

Base raiding in PvP has its place. In PvE its too easily cheesable and really doesnt fit in in a mode called "Joint Ops"

worthy hollow
#

Even in PVP, just go to a low pop server like asian servers, and it still remains an issue.

#

I have base raided successfully in PVP and farmed literal players.

rotund bloom

But at least in PvP players CAN stop you, and the game mode is on the entire premise that the factions are not allies. In PvE, factions are supposed to be allies, and due to that players couldn't defend their own base. Yet for some reason, you can go kill all their base guards. Im sure theyll find a good balance, but I cant see any way that base raids in PvE will ever make sense when youre supposed to be working together
