I do like the overall changes to AI so far, them being aggressive and all. Still not sure how I feel about the entire POI being on alert after engaging one guard. Almost kinda feels like .1 all over again.

Here are some vids I've gathered so far.

I don't know how I feel about AI being to spot you in the dark given that the update has AI vision worked on. I did stay put to get shot at in the end but I feel like they should have a harder time seeing me at night from that far as well. If it was daylight, then sure, I would totally get it.

#

This one's by one of the gates, it was around 140+m AI being able to spot me in the dark. This one, I actually do get coz I did snipe 2 AI prior to the last one spotting me and shooting at my direction.

#

This one's still at night and dark, it's hard to tell coz even if the AI was looking at my direction or heard me sprinting, that's still a considerable distance to even spot me in the dark.

I’ve been playing since .1 with over 1300 hours, I do like the overall difficulty of the AI and I believe those who have the same or more amount hours would be able to adjust and figure out the AI if the test build version ever does go live.

I could also see a lot of players, especially new ones, would probably have a hard time dealing with the test AI. There are already players out there who can’t even deal with the AI with the current live build. I dunno what the balance would be at this point, hopefully some of the other testers could chime in with some suggestions.

I think a real tutorial would do good to kinda “force” new players on how to play gzw, so it could set their expectations on how the game and ai is like? I know the starter town is supposed to be that but currently I don’t think it’s cutting it unfortunately 😅

#

If not a tutorial then maybe a free demo?

I definitely get your concerns I definitely think the whole poi unloading in your direction after 1 silenced shot at night might be a bit over the top, a couple giving covering fire in your direction I can understand. I went back to the 0.1 and 0.2 strategy of taking one ai preferably with one shot, then pull back and move positions they do seem to be to track your position even at night, but it’s almost like they have a timer and if you haven’t moved after so long their shots become more accurate. As for the starter town and new players I went into starter town with some trepidation after seeing pha lang, tiger bay and fort Narith ai reactionary fire like crazy strategy. But waltzed in with an aim and sp ammo, admittedly with a silencer but was expecting Somalia style response but no, creeped along took them out one by one, and before I know it standing in the middle of market thinking where are the rest of them? Every run I’ve had feels like ai are missing but I seem to be the only one with this opinion. Got some mates loading in tonight to test proper. But the ai in starter town were really slow to raise their weapon even in plain sight.

Went in last again last night and general consensus was that’s it’s now known as potato town, you can walk around relatively carefree, I walked past a guy hidden behind a container, turned round and he was just standing there. I have close to 2000 hours along with a mate who’s the same and another who has played since 0.1 and everyone was a bit dismayed by starter town it should be easy but that was ridiculous I’ll try and find some clips to post. Also had runs into tb, ms and fn and I don’t know yesterday felt harder but today felt easier than public, once you get past the unloading rounds when you enter the detection zone or shoot, and that seems to be done by shooting and moving. Haven’t made my mind up yet whether ai are better or worse to be fair

Then thers this...https://youtu.be/DtTd0A0Krq4

feels like danger is mainly when you engage from distance but I reckon I could kill some AI by kicking them in the nuts especially starter town and YBL I think with new recoil and me not adjusting(firing more rounds) I had like 3 clicks of death but they were more a click of "Oh Well give me a minute while I find a mag....hang on...one more minute ill just take a phone call...right now im set and your dead" YBL used to make me shit my pants

Wow lol

#

Yeah they need to fix that 😆

#

I would be totally ok if I was liked suppressed in that situation

#

But to get hit almost instantly, nahhh

#

It just needs to be tweaked slightly not all the way

#

yeah for sure, but there was one shot from the guard tower to the south which I dont think will vene have a viewof my position, I turn to the south and get hit in the right arm so it must have been from the gate

#

Ok fair enough I guess 🤣 I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt

#

I want to recreate what you did in the vid at night lol

#

Coz in bad weather it’s already confirmed they have a hard time seeing or pinpointing your location but at clear night it’s almost like fighting in daytime

Yeah could have been an lucky shot too to be fair, I am swinging seeing to a negative view of the overall AI, From distance they are agro as, then CQ they seem to be worse. I never had a problem with getting one tapped(that I didnt deserve) That and there are definately less AI, just did YBL and it felt sparce unless Im self biasing my opinion by convincing myself it is less noone else seems to think so

I do like the idea of the A.I being more alert and aggressive in some settings. I always found it weird attacking Fort Narith loud. Only to get a 100m further in to see soldiers standing around like there wasn't a hectic firefight at the main entrance.

Definitely needs to be a balance. In the future stealth update an alarm system would be nice. It should be possible to stealth into Fort Narith. But that said if you shoot your way through the front gate of a military base you would expect there to be an organised defence of the place.

#

I think people mainly focus on the A.Is accuracy and individual awareness. But I think the A.I need to be tweeked to move more. Communicate with each other and be less bot like in general.

Fighting a group of soldiers should feel like fighting a group, not just a bunch of individual aim bots

so like metal gear solid? 😛

just don't give them "!" on top of their heads 😆

#

but kidding aside, it would make it look more realistic

#

like an alarm going off

just for like fn at least
