#Add sit shooting position because crouching consumes arm stamina too fast for recon purposes.

As per title, add a sitting stance shooting position
Something like the attached picture.
The purpose is to have an alternative to prone for long range shooting when grass is too tall (often happens) or the ground does not let to get prone.

Stance characteristics:

  • hard to change position: Standing up should be as slow as prone
  • standing or very slow moving: Moving should not be possible, or at most, very very slow, usable just for minor adjustments.
  • Arm stamina drain as prone: Same arm stamina drain as prone

I also like it like R6S does when in a prone position Our legs touch a wall behind to pass the legs on the front to be able to turn and not being blocked

I can do it

sorry if you have disabilities or hating r6

No, load up in FULL kit, including plates, gear, guns, ammo, loaded ruck, etc. Then roll around like those games let people do while aiming. It still has nothing to do with what OP is talking about.

i still can do it, unless I have huge backpack ofc

#

never said it should be stable like prone position tho

#

op talk about a sit positon , what I add in the suggest is a lower height level of sitting position like semi-sit , and I have been train to shoot in this position so it exist

#

if it can be automatic while there is a collision it would make sense cuz irl I don't stay stuck, blocked by anything if I can put my legs in front

I am not sure where they come from but there are supine shooting positions for long range shooting (for sport or old techniques i guess). In this video this is a shooter from a sport association : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCZuypQLa3c

Maybe a compromise of having bino's added that don't drain arm stamina. As annoying as the arm stamina is, I do feel like it ads a critical balance aspect to the game play. And maybe eventually weapon resting/bipods. Overcomplicating the stance system is such a niche thing imo that probably takes a ton of resources to add the tiniest feature. Also then it brings up the questions of like "is this feasible with a backpack or my current kits weight", and probably takes away from the realism, and if they wanted to keep it realistic then it has to have certain stances that are only possible with or without backpacks or certain weights, and pretty soon players need a flow chart just to take a knee lol. Sometimes keeping things simple is the best solution but just my opinion. There's so much bad shooting advice, concepts, tactics, and misleading cool guy stuff out there that taking just the stuff we know is practical makes the most sense. My challenge would be to go find a combat video where people are doing any of these "alt" shooting positions to make the case stronger. IF they do ever add these alt shooting positions in game, then I just hope they offset them with appropriate times to get in and out of the position as its not always a fast or smooth process.

This is a purely speculative question - when you say "it does not happen often", how often are you talking about, and are the cases it does happen actual full combat scenarios? It is after all, one thing to be taught it, quite another to use it in a fight.

The reason I'm asking is because there's a trade off between RL coding time, use case and player uptake.

If the position is particularly niche, or doesn't happen often in a RL setting, then the argument could be made that the time taken to code it would outweigh the times you'd actually ever use it in game.

If however this happens commonly in real combat scenarios, then conversely it could be quite feasible to add it... but bear in mind, many players might never use it anyway, in favour of the more mobile crouch shooting or full prone positions.

Naturally the third one (player uptake) you can't predict until it's implemented, but the first two should give an idea if it's worth making it far enough for the third to matter.

A better idea is being able to hold your scope without a gun attached to it and using it like binoculars, or just add in binoculars
