#Halve the price of ammo

I understand that it's all shipped to the other side of the world but it's ridiculous to pay 200+ dollars per magazine

covert robin
#

What are you packing into your gun?

sleek topaz
#

That's just m855

#

7x30 is $210

covert robin
#

I mean

sleek topaz
#

$420 for a 60 rounder, and if you are buying A1 from the fob exploiters you are running upwards of $1k per magazine.

covert robin
#

Gonna say this

#

For sustainability and cost cutting, if you are having money issues firing a type of ammo...maybe only use that ammo in it's respective area?

#

Like....M855 is overkill in T1/T2.

#

I can fire 7.62x39 PS, 7.62x54R 7N1, and when I choose to use an AK-19, M855, with very little cost simply because these rounds can be looted for a stockpile gain.

sleek topaz
#

I don't think it should be .50 0.39 a round like in the states, but 1800% mark up seems steep.

covert robin
#

The markup seems steep, but making such a round so cheap it can be run even more brainless than it is.....no, absolutely no.

sleek topaz
#

I really don't think that the answer is to mark it up so much. The issue is just that the M4 platform out performs almost everything else in general. Only in niche uses do other weapons edge out the M4, but then platform isn't even very far behind.

tacit bridge
#

What I don't like about this as a suggestion is that it's really an economy balance question in disguise.

"Make ammo cheaper" could easily be "make other forms of income easier" or "making specific loot sell higher".

And, as we know, you can bring back multiple 1k stripped down guns from every T3 location as a super easy baseline.

sleek topaz
#

This is a good point, but if we are importing ammo at 1800% mark up the weapons are massively under priced.

#

And weapons pack much worse than ammo will.

covert robin
#

I mean

#

Ratnik AKs are a bit overpriced lol

#

Though that can be an argument about good attachments for AKMs/74s being too cost effective for their performance

sleek topaz
#

Possibly, but I'm looking at actual DDM4's, bare with no attachments at $1,850. Say another $2k-$3k for all the furniture and optics you want, and the price in-game is only 125% marked up.

#

So either (some) weapons are too cheap, or ammo is too expensive

red oasis
#

I mean
You buy weapons occasionally while you expend ammo all the time

sleek topaz
#

That isn't exactly a reason to lower the price of ammo

tacit bridge
#

The game needs money sinks.

red oasis
#

I think we got plenty of them already without ammo and they will only grow with each major update

tacit bridge
#

Consumables, like ammo, are the default money sinks.

covert robin
#

Because repairs sure as hell aren't one.

sleek topaz
covert robin
#

Sure as hell isnt equipment

#

6B23s, 6sh104s and Plate6s drop everywhere

tacit bridge
#

You can get by on (free) 2nd tier meds if you'd like

covert robin
#

This is true.

#

And i never bought a helmet for myself this wipe.

#

And I always wear helmets

tacit bridge
#

I bought a single fastmt for running terminal. that's it.

covert robin
#

So Equipment isnt a money sink so....what are these multiple money sinks?

#

Hell I have so much cash laying around from the lack of them I buy trader levels rather than doing tasks.

#

I still havent done the first banshee task!

tacit bridge
#

And given that 855 is the best buyable ammo by a large degree, it has to remain the most expensive. So are we also going to make all other ammo cheaper?

At a certain point, we have to be comfortable with "less immersive" implementations for game balance.

This is one of those concessions.

I think the majority of players are addicted to giggle switches and burn through ammo then blame the system and not their fullautoitis.

You really don't need to take any gun out of semi, well placed shots one tap, centre mass shots two or three tap. I rarely use more than one or two rounds per target.

I just cleared fort narith from airport entrance, HQ and barracks with about 100 rounds.

It's not tarkov, hit registration by and large works and people aren't massive damage sponges. If you aren't shift Wing everywhere you go it's super easy to get the drop on AI and one tap them.

Ammo price should stay.

river bridge
#

If anything 855 needs a price increase to discourage the M4 meta and get people using other guns.

You can run it with a 9mm pistol if you wanted.

The "majority of players" thing is just something you made up. Unless you have some evidence to show people aren't primarily running semi. I run semi, everyone I've seen runs semi, and people that care about ammo price are likely to run semi just out of necessity.

Every single encounter I have with NPCs has at least one bullet sponge. At least one. It really feels like a networking issue to me because I dump half a mag into an NPC and it doesn't die, I can usually dip into hard cover and it'll just fall over eventually. But sometimes even that doesn't happen. This happens on all US servers.

#

Sometimes they'll take cover behind a sign that has an exposed bottom side. Just for testing I always shoot out their legs (in semi of course). I've used two full mags on their legs and they haven't gone down. I can see blood splatter.

#

Currently I'm running about 2 tasks before refitting. I take an AK with 7.62 SP, 5 mags, and 2 stacks of 60 in my case. I'll run out of ammo every single time but I stay topped up from looted mags. I'll have used 600-800 rounds by the time I'm done. That's ~$1,400 worth if I bought it all. And it's the cheap stuff.

Tbh I run full auto with the MCX and often with the M4 for PVP

covert robin

Hitting any T3 area I go with 180 rounds of 7.62 PS total and always leave with more ammo than I entered with, even on longer sorties, to the point where I dont buy ammo anymore so....

Every streamer I've seen uses full auto, admittedly they're primarily Tarkov streamers and they play the game like they play Tarkov, which isn't the most optimal way to play, I just cleared FN from Airport Entrance through HQ and out and heard full auto suppressed shots all the time from other teams, I see corpses riddled with spray patterns that scream full auto mag dump, I just asked a bunch of dudes chilling at Bronco and over half of them said they used Full Auto as default, people compain about lack of avalibility of 60 rounders, which have no real benefit outside mag dumps, you're in a thread with several people saying they're using full auto, and you're essentially calling them all liars. "Just made up" is a desperate attempt to claim a no existent high ground, so be civil or shut up.

This is 100% the damage model, if you're shooting legs then they wont die until they bleed out. People only drop when an organ is destroyed or they bleed out, leg shots only cause light wounds in general and have no organs, it's nothing to do with networking issues, it's the model. It's the same reason headshots below the brain and throat shots don't kill, there's no organ to damage in that area and while it might cause a severe bleed, they still take minutes to bleed out and die.

river bridge
#

Which is why we need to get the spine modeling in the game.

I just opened Grayzone on Twitch, picked the first streamer, and watched his gameplay. His current broadcast appears to be all SVD so I checked yesterday's. Clipped the first fight I saw. Look at that, semi-auto:
https://clips.twitch.tv/create/HungryHeartlessCurryPeteZarollTie-tOt6RmZFxDcPmhPn

There are two errors in your argument.

First, you're claiming that the majority of players are doing something without evidence to back that up. I already countered your anecdotal "trust me bro" evidence with my own. The majority of people I see are using semi against NPCs. When I hear people clearing cities of NPCs then I'm hearing semi-auto shots for the most part. And the streamers I've looked at are all using semi against NPCs.

Second, you're claiming that people who want cheaper ammo have fullautoicities and, gee if they just fix that, they won't have issues with the ammo economy anymore. This doesn't even qualify as a correlation fallacy because you haven't shown a correlation.

(telling me to be civil followed by telling me to shut up, nice)
