I've owned Grayzone Warfare supporter edition basically since launch and want to hop back in but in fear of a ban I haven't. I've seen where players can play using proton however it results in a ban. Please please fix this as Steam OS is right around the corner for official desktop release and I'm not going back to windows anytime soon.

Been playing on Fedora 42 just fine over here. Make sure you don't have controller remapping software, if that is still an issue.

IDK, some people grew up on consoles, some people use said software for macros or something as well. I'm not sure how cheating with that software works because I've never looked into it, but I guess between macros, 'turbo' functionality, and automatic recoil mitigation or some such thing, it is an issue.

Interesting. I've converted most of my home pcs to Linux Mint in the runup to Windows 10 End of Life and will be swapping my main PC as soon as I get another M2 so I can dual boot. I was unaware of the bans mentioned by OP

My best guess is that very specific distros have some gamer garbage installed by default, or people are using software that they don't know triggers the banhammer, or possibly people deliberately cheating and blaming something else as an excuse.

I can start Gray Zone without any problems and have a very good performance, but I am a bit scared to continue playing because of an anti cheat ban.
Every now and then you read that someone has been banned under linux in the steam forums, which puts me off a bit.

I see you play GZW on catchyos like me. Do you always have to wait for the shaders to completely load every time you start the game like I do? On windows it only has to load once unless I reset the shader cache

Do you use any launch options? I use __GL_SHADER_DISK_CACHE_SKIP_CLEANUP=1 game-performance %command%
the shader one is supposed to make it so they don't clear but it definitely doesn't work on grayzone lol
And have you found a proton version that works best? I've tried catchy native, experimental, and various ge versions and they all seem the same. Game runs fine except for the damn shaders loading every time I start or end deployment
