#Do not count squad kills for TI and HT

why shouldnt they count?
Terminal Initiative, being the last quest, is a challenge to prove a players worth.
As it stands, they can just hide in a closet and let the other squad members kill everyone.
Hazardous, while not as extreme as TI, is kind of preparing the player for TI.
As someone that solos terminal and hazardous, that hadn't even occurred to me - but holy crap that lowers the difficulty level far below what squadding already provides.
I mean, I solo them too, but this seems silly. Let squads play as squads and let solos play a solos.
I'm already annoyed that I cant do the squad missions solo.
Yeah, it is kinda dumb that we can do this.
We tested it on HZ, and were supprised this was an option. So then we tried it when the first person got TI, and yep same thing.
This should be a feat, not just another mission.
As some random player, how does this actually impact me? Is it ruining the economy?
It doesn't impact anything. It just makes the last quest harder for people. I think the game is fine as it is, people can do it solo if they want the challenge and aren't required.
no and my only reason is because it was fucking hilarious when there was 2 of us doing TI at once and we all just mortared the fuck out of MS to get like half the kills
MS is too far away for me to mortar. 😦
I'm not against going back how it was in theory but the hijinks that come from shared kills are too good to pass up
like the people doing it staying back but one of the people getting the kills gets coma'd so the person doing it has to go out to save them
yea but you have up to right before HQ on one side and well past mall on the other side
This option already exists... just don't squad up with your buddies when you run the OBJ. Your happy, I'm happy.
Until more AI tweaks are done I don't think this should be a thing.
Tonight me and a friend were both killed by an AI that was running full sprint away from us and was still firing his gun at us while we shot him multiple times. This also happened in Fort Narith as an AI ran into a room he was shooting through himself into me. I was coma'd and He killed himself. Other issues are with ammo still not being at the level it needs to be for TI to actually be solo challenge level. Was using SST Slugs tonight in TB just messing around and it was one tapping like crazy. go back in about 20 mins later to help a friend and I was shooting people between 3 and 7 times for a kill and headshots being a 2 or 3. Having said all that. until the AI and Ammo are tweaked more I think it should stay as is.
I'm sure that was frustrating for you, but to me that sounds like you had some serious connection issues at the root of that.
I have very few if any connection issues since 0.1. but also my friend seeing it and dying to the same thing at the same time.... would that be both of us having the exact same connection issue at the exact same time.
The AI are so much better from 0.1 and even 0.2 but I have been seeing way too many issues with ammo inconsistency as well. And I am not the only one. Some times M855 will punch through lvl 3 and sometimes it won't and that is taking the exact same shot from the exact same place and distance. Same with the shotguns and SMGs. ammo needs more overhaul before that comes back.
No, its just how the game is sometimes. It's taken me 4 days to do TI, playing a couple of times each go, because I kept dying in bullshit ways.
AI out of position, one tapping me from a bush, AI from a balcony thats not normally occupied one tapping me in the face, AI reacting to being shot themselves but still able to shoot me in the face with their rifle while they're hunched over in pain and didn't even raise their gun etc....
It's just how the game and AI are right now, doing TI solo, as I have, isn't some badge of honour. It's an excercise in patience and subbornness to surpass the AI's flaws at this moment in time, nothing more.
I will say i have played 0.1 and 0.2 to the total of 780 hours. Two completions in both (Completion then character wipe) finishing the final mission at this point in the game is not a rite of passage it is just something to do and a way for people that don't have the supporter pack to get the large TAS box. Until the final game has been dropped There is no actual Badge of Honor.
currently I am sitting at just over 1000 hours in game. I have been sitting on the final mission for two days now. I don't plan on finsihing it seeing as having the supporter pack makes the entire mission null and void to me.
"AI reacting to being shot themselves but still able to shoot me in the face with their rifle while they're hunched over in pain and didn't even raise they're gun" sounds very much like a desync.
I'm not trying to say it is something "badge of honor" or anything silly like that. I just went and did it last week with a friend, only one death between us, and it was at FN. It really feels like end game content is being geared towards squad play. Having just one other person with you makes so much of the game incredibly easier.
because it is. in every community management video with DDG he brings up that the higher tier areas are meant for squad play.
It may sound like Desync to you, but it's a well known and accepted bug by the community and devs, so regardless of what you think, you're wrong.
Yeah, it's not meant to be a solo game. Doing it solo is going to be hard by design.
They've said several times they designed the game and difficulty with squads in mind and they didn't expect so many people to solo
They over estimated my willingness to squad up for a long time. Finally found some guys that I enjoy playing with, I was pretty stubborn about it for awhile.
a feat does not have inherent rewards, that idea has come around due to games, often RPGs.
To translate to computer game terms it should be "Achievement"
I agree with @slim shard
TL;DR:
If there is a reward the squad can help
If it's for bragging rights, there is no reward (not obligatory)
IMO
idk about proving worth
all 3 spots have a spot you can cheese the kills
hq roof, the stores across from bosses' area, waterfall
No video game has ever been made to prove anyone's worth. Video games are made to be fun. Everyone and their mother agreed that, in a game that allows squading with friends, just running around and not do shit so as to not take kills from your mate was absolutely not fun, and that's why MFG introduced shared kills. Better yet, it's optional and you can still solo things if you don't want to / can't do it as a squad.
So if the only argument for removing it is "muh gotta prove I'm better for having soloed it", it stays.
Tell me how you think this feature could hurt the game or its community in any other shape or form instead, for I can't think of any.
