#shooting when dragging

long as it's pistols only I would love this
and it would give incentive to carry a sidearm
i do not use side arms now but if it is in the game i will
Sidearm saved my life the other day, just saying.
I almost always have one in joint ops and maybe 20% of the time in warfare so yea it'd be big for me
saved me doing TI last night when I had to kill AI using my pistol while someone was carrying my ddm4
i know
it saves lives but sometimes it does no damage
Sidearm is a must frl 🙏🏽🔥
Yes good idea but not when in coma pls
No "Last Stand" COD bull for sure.... but small side arm with dragging should be fine. Shouldn't be overly accurate mind you, but at least enough to keep heads down.
Just to be clear, we are talking about the person doing the dragging right, not the person in a coma?
Yes
Probably with 1 hand so less recoil control

I got 30 rounds of hate to chuck at whoever pushes me, so I'm fine with it.
I wonder how people propose were shooting while dragging a 200 lb man with unknown kilos of gear on their back.
Doesn't make sense to me.
And thats a man whose dead weight in a coma, so everything's limp. Theyre not holding an arm stiff so you can get a good under the armpit purchase.
And here comes Lead with a Steel Chair of Logic!
the animation is already one handed, and you’re literally holding your rifle in the other hand as you’re dragging them. i don’t think dragging someone by their plate carrier with one hand and laying down relatively inaccurate suppressive fire with a pistol is a massive leap in logic
This, shooting with a penalty to accuracy, so long as It does not become useless, would be very cool to see
it doesn't even need to be relatively inaccurate. one handed pistol shooting isn't hard for a trained person using reasonable calibers. It shouldn't be terribly accurate while dragging just like trying to shoot while out of breath is but stopping the drag to quickly eliminate a threat should be quite doable for our characters.
If you have a pistol holstered it should it auto draw once you start dragging or if you want to be able to shoot you must swap to your pistol before initiating the drag? And it should not be able to ads, only canted so more “point shooting”
But once you stop dragging you have to manually switch back to your primary.
If you are dragging, I think you should be able to "fast drag" (two handed, no defence, move faster) or "defend drag" (pistol out, move slower, not particularly accurate).
That's how I'd balance to some degree, though I'm sure it would need fine tuning as an concept.
Remember guys, they talked alot about how hard it was for them to implement dragging.
It took them over a year to roll it out, and they worked on it a lot before they released .1.
Just saying, to ask them to change it already, is probably not going to happen. At lease not before 1.0.
Fair point to make - I wouldn't expect to see anything anytime soon, that's for sure. Still, spitballing varients can't hurt in the interim.
I imagine the hard part is out of the way.
but yeah, i don’t think people are necessarily expecting any sort of immediacy with suggestions like this. nor should people be dissuaded from making these suggestions just because they’re “low priority” or would otherwise take a while.
No doubt talking about it makes sense, just make sure to keep the thread active, and bump it to the .4 suggestions when it drops.
This way it can still be "alive".
I am not sure how much they will look at these older ones in a couple years.
That is mainly what I am getting at
Will do
It would be nice

I’ve seen a video made for Escape from Tarkov. Not gameplay but a mini movie made. There is a scene where someone is dragging their friend by rigging up to their body allowing for them to use their body to drag and freeing both hands. These were PMCs and I could see something similar being used with a small animation that takes 2-5 seconds but then you have the ability to drag and use your rifle two handed. Probably add a decent debuff to accuracy while dragging like this, but would allow for some use of your rifle.
With this said, I don’t think dragging a body should be included in the pop up menu for healing and should instead have its on dedicated key so that you’re not fumbling with trying to heal and accidentally hitting the drag body option.
a dedicated button would be nice
i think rigging will not come in game
Yea I think the mere physics of it would be a huge hurdle which I doubt they will decide to tackle. It’s just one way I’ve seen it done outside of grab and heave hoe that I feel would add some cool immersive elements to it.
Sure!
yes
nikita has been teasing a downed state like GZW and so many other games for years
and dragging
Ahh yes Tarkov: Raid. A masterpiece.
