This isn't Far Cry.
Would have been down with this before COPs, but now theyre entirely not necessary.
I do think car's trunks should be a searchable loot spot though, but just the static cars as we have now.
That's fine but driving them around I don't want to see. We have a helicopter and cops now. It's not necessary and would detract from the game in my opinion.
I wouldnt mind the ability to use other vehicles to roll in, perhaps like the BTR in Tarkov (i know, comparison is unfair perhaps). You wouldnt be driving but you'd be using something different. Would at least give some variety in terms of transport and maybe help with firing off a few shots to enemy pmcs.
Must admit i am out of touch with the world lore but surely helis work through fossil fuel?
Heli's also refuel off map, out of our AO where supplies aren't constricted presumably, but through multple quests Gunny sends us looking for fuel and complains about how hard it is to get supplies as it is, so much so we have to go hunting for guns and ammo at one point.
Ah! Fair point! Helicopters do go off map, thats true.
I still wouldnt mind seeing variety in the future but:
- It Would be very low on my list
-dropping in through copter Is absolutely the coolest thing rather than blatantly spawning in
i believe trekking through the jungle, and forcing you to prepare for said trek, is a deliberate part of the game design.
not to mention how much griefing potential there is with a car.
not sure i understand the point about “waiting ages” for a heli too. i’ve yet to see all 4 helis in the air at the same time as of 0.3. if this is an issue for you i feel like you maybe aren’t taking advantage of the systems implemented 0.3. i very rarely even use helicopters now.
Agree that helis are widely available now. I think something that "drives itself" much like a helicopter which you call on and drops you somwhere (maybe even at different locations than helicopters) and fires off a few shots Would be interesting at least and a change from Airborne insertion
👎
they could just increase our stamina or add simple Tier 1-2 energy drinks that give a minor stamina boost with too many of them causing toxication. Worst part of this game is running so slow, Really my PMC can Sprint but cant jog?
Its pretty annoying right now but if I remember correctly, PMC skills will get added in the future so we can expect increased strengh and stamina (atleast I hope so lol)
What do you mean by PMC “skills”? Are we gonna have grindable perks now? No thanks, that will completely fuck with PvP more.
No idea about grindable, but certainly a skill "certification" system of some kind that alters stats has been said is in the works.
We dont know yet how the system gonna look like, but some sort of perks/skills you can unluck by just playing.
Shane is right though they do need to be careful with the skills and PvP balancing especially when you’re considering the spread of player levels in a server. Tarkov illustrates this problem perfectly.
we already know it’s based on some sort of “qualification” system where you have to take a test to get the skills. my hope is that skills are more niche and define a “class” for your character instead of just outright buffing your basic stats. i.e you take a marksmen qualification test and you get skills that make you specifically better at sniping.
It would suck massively to get killed by someone who has perks that make them more resistant to damage or something silly like that.
exactly
But this is kind of off topic for the original thread
Yes thats possible, but however the skills are looking like, they will probably be locked behind progression. So you need to be a specific lvl or at a specific point in the questline, in order to complete those.
So a player that have not reached that point will be in a disadvantage anyways. (Same as traders btw)
But on the other hand it would increase the motivation to level up and make your pmc stronger in any specific category.
But I agree, I hope its not something like tarkov where you have to put hundered of hours in, in order to get specific perks.
Anyways sorry for beeing off topic, me personally, Im not a huge fan of any form of vehicles (Player driven).
I could see any form of traveling from COP to COP inside a armored vehicle or even with choppers aswell.
But besides that, there is just not really a need for player driven cars since we have choppers and now COPs.
