Devs have two red lines in this game so far - no thermals or ground vehicles, period.

Between that, the devs also stating they want exploration by foot and all the established lore regarding complete and utter lack of fuel anywhere in our AO, this idea is a total no-starter.

I wouldnt mind the ability to use other vehicles to roll in, perhaps like the BTR in Tarkov (i know, comparison is unfair perhaps). You wouldnt be driving but you'd be using something different. Would at least give some variety in terms of transport and maybe help with firing off a few shots to enemy pmcs.

i believe trekking through the jungle, and forcing you to prepare for said trek, is a deliberate part of the game design.

not to mention how much griefing potential there is with a car.

not sure i understand the point about “waiting ages” for a heli too. i’ve yet to see all 4 helis in the air at the same time as of 0.3. if this is an issue for you i feel like you maybe aren’t taking advantage of the systems implemented 0.3. i very rarely even use helicopters now.

they could just increase our stamina or add simple Tier 1-2 energy drinks that give a minor stamina boost with too many of them causing toxication. Worst part of this game is running so slow, Really my PMC can Sprint but cant jog?

Shane is right though they do need to be careful with the skills and PvP balancing especially when you’re considering the spread of player levels in a server. Tarkov illustrates this problem perfectly.

we already know it’s based on some sort of “qualification” system where you have to take a test to get the skills. my hope is that skills are more niche and define a “class” for your character instead of just outright buffing your basic stats. i.e you take a marksmen qualification test and you get skills that make you specifically better at sniping.

It would suck massively to get killed by someone who has perks that make them more resistant to damage or something silly like that.

But this is kind of off topic for the original thread

Yes thats possible, but however the skills are looking like, they will probably be locked behind progression. So you need to be a specific lvl or at a specific point in the questline, in order to complete those.
So a player that have not reached that point will be in a disadvantage anyways. (Same as traders btw)
But on the other hand it would increase the motivation to level up and make your pmc stronger in any specific category.

But I agree, I hope its not something like tarkov where you have to put hundered of hours in, in order to get specific perks.

Anyways sorry for beeing off topic, me personally, Im not a huge fan of any form of vehicles (Player driven).
I could see any form of traveling from COP to COP inside a armored vehicle or even with choppers aswell.
But besides that, there is just not really a need for player driven cars since we have choppers and now COPs.
