Factions
Make the visuals of the Factions different in some way (uniforms and progress).
As it is today, if a Lamang player kills a Mithras player, the loot will be the same (uniform, weapons, helmet...).
With differences between factions, there will be an additional incentive to hunt players from another faction and to alternate between factions with each wipe to see what is different about each one (the replay factor will increase a lot).

Rappel Zones (similar to the Landing Zone, but with the RZ icon)
Create rappel zones in the forest region, so that players can rappel in a safer area and make it easier to hide from other players.
This way, a squad can rappel into the forest and split up to attack different points in a city or area, but all of this in a surprise way, without being seen.

Will rather never happen. It would be very difficult to balance factions and some would be pick one over another, ending up with potentially dead PvP.
Already more people is picking MSS and CSI leaving LRI behind to the point devs are offering $5000 bonus for signing up to LRI.

Balancing is a difficult point that will need to be worked on.

Rewards should be graded/scaled in real time, the fewer players in a faction, the better the prize.
Example: Lamang has fewer players, starts with more money
Continues with fewer players?
Starts with more money and a better rifle scope.
Continues with fewer players?
Starts with more money and a level 2 vendor released from the beginning.

These are just examples
Until there is a balance.

And if there are no differences between the factions, what is the incentive for a Mithras player to choose another faction?

If this difference exists, players will rotate more between factions.

The replayability of the game will increase a lot.

The difference between the factions are the distance between certain POI's.

LRI is the least popular faction because it is the farthest away from FN.

Well of course it's not the only factor people take into account, but it is still a sizable difference. I'm not so sure about changing the starting weapons simply because there's always going to be a better weapon than the other and aside from making the stats of whatever starting weapons you'd chose the exact same which isn't very realism savy in my opinion, that would absolutely offset populations by a large majority even more so than now by having them the same.

The balancing issue really seems best addressed in how they've currently implemented them with location/description being the primary driving factors of that choice. Changing weapons/starting vendor levels and more physical implementations could quickly spiral out of control aside from just not being fair. They already tanked and started offering more money to the least populated faction which changes based off population. I'm really not sure how much more they could do without beginning to offset stats and outright making a particular faction just better to chose than others.
