#Attacking Enemy COPs (PvP)

When attacking, after clearing any AI and players that are there. It would be a welcome change if when interacting with the laptop, it would start a timer (ex. 5 minutes for smaller COPs and 10 minutes for the large COPs)

The attacking team would have to defend for the duration of the timer to successfully seize control from the enemy faction. This timer would give the defending faction time to mobilize and set up a proper counter strike.

Could create some more meaningful fights and slightly prevent vacuuming loot up during the fight if the COP is unusable for respawn and vendor/stash access during the siege period.

It would also stop an enemy from hiding in a bush to prevent laptop use. The timer would be able to be started regardless of if an enemy is still on the premises and the only way for the defending team to stop the capture is by interacting with the laptop again.

My only thought on this - and this is just from my experience - alot of people avoid this kind of PVP and only engage in it if it "finds" them. for a solo capturing a COP then having to defend it cause no one comes to help this would be tedious or mean they do not engage with this mechanic at all.

but if you could get at least semi organised or willing to participate faction members then this idea could be very interesting to see how people developed Defend/attack strategies etc.

# mellow urchin that is a good point but imho to prevent cheesing the mechanic where COP allows ...

I agree, While contesting no one attacking or defending should be able to use stash or respawn there maybe?

and when the message to log out says something like "you are in a base and can safely log out" - well if its under attack it isnt safe, so you shouldnt be able to log out... or if you do you sacrifice your gear to log out maybe?

It's an interesting concept and its nice to see all the community suggestions how such a mechanic can be balanced etc.

You aren’t accounting for the time you have to spend to gear up out of your stash or purchase from vendors.

Once the attack on AI is triggered and you are in the area, respawning is disabled. So not sure why you want additional timers when they have to then respawn far away.

Because of unlimited enemy waves close to the COP. Take Foxtrot 3. I and a mate landed there, we got attacked. It was a long fight of hide and seek. We killed one of the two enemies and he run back in 15 seconds. We killed one again. Again, that guy was back in 15 seconds. We killed both finally - looting very fast only whats worth and trying to get away. Well .. the two enemies were back in 15 seconds with a SKS and scope and killed us both. There was no was to get away alive.

What you are talking about is a complete rework to their entire COP system. Sounds like you just aren’t being mindful of your surroundings and pushing to disable the COP. Instead you tried to loot before securing the AO.

This thread is particularly about a specific aspect of the COP sieging. Not a rework of the entire system.

Not meant that I dont agree. I also try to find solutions for some problems we have on warfare right now with the COPs
