Salt water would be a whooooole separate game :’)
Maybe someday in the far off future, but Fish Game itself isn’t even finished yet, so it’s not really in the cards atm
I think once other systems are in place, if modding tools are made available then it could be made into a mod fairly easy, however tedious
Ah yeah, got here before me lol i just put a whole answer in the other thread
I mean saltwater and freshwater fish keeping are 2 wildly different experiences idk how easy it would be to just add salt water stuff into the game
Youde have to create like entire systems for certain things, unless ig u just have salt water designed fish in a freshwater tank lol
No like you could choose “saltwater” keeper and its liek a “dlc thing”
Still would need to be at the very least a game mode completely seperate and would need a lot of new stuff to function, it would esentially just be a whole new game anyway and wouldnt make much sense to just cram it in this one
doing saltwater fish only would be fairly easy, but it would get stale very quickly as anyone who really wants saltwater in game will want growing and fraggable coral, inverts, macro algae, customizable equipment like skimmers, reactors, etc
Wouldn’t work. This has already been discussed at length and it would definitely need to be a game on its own.
Better to bake two cookies rather than half baking a stack
It has been discussed?
way more
Quite a few times by now lol
as a person who has worked full time maintaining reef aquariums, there is so many different factors and things to calculate
While its not impossible for a saltwater fish game to come eventually i wouldnt get your hopes up because the devs are very tunnel focused on maintaining and growing this game for the forseeable future
Would be dope but its not really on the table
Sometimes being a party pooper is part of our job as a moderator :(
Thats our only job XD
Fecal matter on the social gathering as one might say
From a saltwater game basically the only thing i would want is an octopus
Gimme octopus game
for example, for coral to be able to grow, it needs appropriate light (a system that already exists) but also appropriate water flow, macro nutrients such as Nitrate, and Phosphate, and then other elements like KH, Calcium, and Magnesium, to be maintained at appropriate levels, bearing in mind that there are interactions that occur between these elements, so balancing them more complicated that "raise this and lower this", then we have to consider trace elements, coral nutrition, increasing coral pathogen likelihood when using a UV sterilizer (through dysbiosis, see Salem Clemmens talks on reef builders if you're interested in that), although that can decrease the likelihood of dish getting sick
I can just imagine the bugs that would come from them being part of the same game too "uh why is there a dead saltwater angelfish floating in one of the stores in my main game"
I think if there was a saltwater fish game they should add mantis shrimp and when you keep them theres a 0.5% chance that at any moment they just punch through glass and u get a death screen saying
GAME OVER
:]
