No the reason we don’t like it is because you have 9 players in the box and 6-8 players immediately in attack on the counter. And then the players run back at the speed of light depending on tactics. Virtually 0 downsides to that tactic

It’s a part of the game yes but there shouldn’t be a tactic / formation that has 0 downsides and so many upsides that’s my point. The rats play 451

If you play defensively you shouldn’t have so many going forwards it’s simple. The counter attacks are too good in this game.

If you want to argue I recommend that you actually read what I say 🙂

Strange to see people on here refer to others as rats for playing or not playing a certain formation. I've been playing Fut since fifa 12 and "meta" formations have always existed, 352, 41212. Removing a formation is not a solution but merely removing a symptom of a greater problem. There's a massive imbalance between the ease of attacking and the difficulty of defending.

And you could counter it with wing play and a high line.

There's not really a counter to this except for matching the meta and playing for counter attacksn or jammy goals.

It's obviously not the only formation to do this but it's the most effective. 5 midfielders supporting the defense and 5 midfielders to use in counter attacks. It puts literally every other formation at a disadvantage in each third of the pitch.

EA needs to nerf ai defending and also nerf attacking players ability to sucesfully tackle when tracking back. Just like defenders who feels slow and shoot badly in the offense due to their low dribling and shooting stats, attacker should in similar fashion make bad tackles leading to fouls more when their defending stats is like 30. This would prevent at least some of the attacking players to help much defensively and make more space for the attacking players.

I explained to you earlier why 451 is ratty. You can have all 3cms and lm/rm stay super low like dms. Impossible to play through the middle. But in attack you get 6 or more players stampeding forward. So the formation has so many players defending and so many players attacking. It’s that there isn’t a trade off. Just sit with the middle cm and let the AI defend because there’s 0 space for anything and then just spam L1 and get how much attacking support you want. And with the current counter meta the 451 perfectly displays the non existent downside to low block AI defending in this game

And before you say anything I am actually div 1 with 1 game to elite and was elite almost entire last season. I play against 451 every single game and all the midfielders sit in the lap of the defenders so there’s 0 space or 0 passing options
