After going through community discussions and NickRTFM’s recent Reddit Reacts, I wanted to give some direct feedback from my own experience and what I’ve seen echoed by a lot of players.
Gameplay right now feels like a nonstop sweatfest across every mode — Rivals, Champs, Squad Battles, even tournaments. It’s become harder to just casually enjoy the game. I understand defending is supposed to be more manual this year, and on PC it can feel that way, but the intensity and grind of every match removes the fun factor for most players.
There’s also an issue with how inconsistent gameplay feels. Even on stable internet, there are moments where the game feels heavy, delayed, or “stuck in mud.” It’s frustrating when you can’t turn properly or execute basic inputs. A lot of us believe this could be tied to EA’s new “open world” beta pulling on servers, because the delay issues seem to have gotten worse recently.
Player movement roles and play styles also still feel off. Inside Forwards rarely cut in like they should, Wing Backs don’t attack enough, and Center Backs drift out of position. Even though EA added more “roles,” many don’t function well and end up restricting gameplay instead of improving it. The game would genuinely play better without them. Attacking AI needs more dynamism — not just through player-lock or spammed L1/R1 runs.
And finally, it’s disappointing that realism is often used as a marketing point when the actual experience doesn’t reflect that. From time-wasting mechanics to animation delays, FC is still far from authentic football flow.
