#AI of your own team completely unrealistic and partly unplayable

Now that a bug fix update has been released for the second time, as far as I can tell, I'm still noticing a huge and extremely annoying problem with the entire AI of my own team. This makes it almost impossible to even come close to winning in at least 80% of all games in the UT.

Just as a bit of preliminary information, I have put together a team that actually has good stats, 31/33 chemistry, and all of the players I use are in their designated positions. However, in almost every game, no matter how well I play, for example with the simplest passes, where the player who is supposed to receive the ball is standing about 2 meters FREE next to me, these players always pass the ball to the opposing players! This means that a sensible build-up of play is hardly possible in any situation. Furthermore, my own players are constantly running each other over, taking unnecessary routes, and in 90% of cases don't even try to get anywhere close to free.

In sprint duels, your own players with a 90 sprint rating from the start of the sprint are almost twice as slow as opponent players, some of whom are 20 rating points below my own player!

And then there's the AI of my own goalkeeper. Personally, I have Ter Stegen in goal. He's not a legendary goalkeeper, but he's actually very solid, you'd think. Now comes the point: My opponent, as he often does, easily manages to get past my players who are running around each other and fires a shot, partly outside the penalty area. My goalkeeper, who could actually save a ball like that relatively easily if you look at it in real life, sometimes jumps to the ground before the opponent even touches the ball. And if the timing between the shot animation and the start of the save is right, the goalkeeper acts like he has a cramp in his calf and doesn't even try to reach the ball. In contrast, when I repeat a similar scenario with the opponent, the opposing goalkeeper saves every ball with ease. No matter the direction, proximity, or power of the shot, the opposing goalkeeper is suddenly the high man and saves everything, even when it's impossible to save.

It would be fantastic if something like this were fixed in a future update. It's all very well and great to see which bugs are fixed, or whether I play my next match with yellow or pink goal nets—which, by the way, I think is completely irrelevant to most FUT players—but it should be fairly clear that in a football simulation, the gameplay is what matters, not the color of the goal nets or whether the menu text is displayed in white or blue.

From what I've read in other feedback, almost 90% of players complain about exactly these problems. SO FINALLY CHANGE SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

I don't think this is good feedback because it's unclear what you're trying to say
What do you mean your gk doesn't save yet your opponent does, what do you mean your opponent can pass but u can't?

It doesn't make much sense, it sounds like you are doing something wrong if anything.

You are another player who's advocating for certain solutions basing yourself on the fact the game is a football simulation
It isn't. FUT isn't and was never publicized as a football simulation, FUT is a game, an arcadey game, nothing about it is realistic or simulative, you would rather have reactions, silk and smooth passing, precise shooting and agile players in such a formula... and that's exactly what this game tries to do and does well.

Competitive gameplay isn't realistic, it's arcade.

There's a reason authentic gameplay Is a thing, that's where the most simulative part of the game is

If you really think they will change such a winning formula in favor of realism, you're gravely mistaken

What they could do instead is make everybody happy by introducing authentic online too, let people choose

If one wants to play realistically, let them, even on FUT
If they don't, let them play arcade

But I'm absolutely against ruining the fun for others

So you think the point of the game is to give players a false sense of stats, based on which they build a team to climb ranks and win matches, which is ultimately nothing but pure deception? It's not about distinguishing between simulation and arcade, but rather about somehow ensuring that ALL players have fun playing.

And the gameplay offered, aside from being unrealistic, has nothing to do with competitiveness. It's generally full of things that mostly work to the opponent's advantage. If you disagree, tell me what you think team chemistry is good for, for example? And what the point is if everything doesn't work properly.

Furthermore, your answer is a typical answer for someone who wins his games purely through pay to win and not through good gameplay on his part.

This is purely a skill issue pal. If you are losing games, ofcourse the losing player will always say their opponent has the advantage, its a generic response.

With the goalkeeper, there is a skill gap that exists where theres a handful of skilled players who move their keeper to judge where the opponant will shoot. If you move the keeper in the correct direction, it lowers the space available for a goal which means the keeper has a higher chance of saving it. However on the other hand, if you do not move the keeper, its down to the opponent to choose the side of the goal with the most open space for a higher chance of scoring.

With you mentioning the factor of changing the colour of goal nets and pitch lines etc. I have played around 2 thousand hours since that was released in FUT and not once did I play a competitive game where the colours was different. From an EA perspective, its an additional option which fills packs with more items adding it for those players who may want to use it.

All in all, the above points mentioned from Dani isnt a typical answer from a PTW player, its a generic answer from someone who is generally decent at the game. Just because someone has an opposing point to yourself doesnt mean they PTW. Also, PTW doesnt make you good at the game, its just flexing how much money you can spend.

I'm not ptw what, last WL I used a 20k team, I had non rare Bonny in attack, no women either... I got 10-5 which isn't a bad result, but got thrashed 2 times by better teams and players who could defend better than me

I do agree defending needs tuning but your points are weird
That's why I'm asking more genuinely, why do you think your game favors your opponent for no reason?

While I sometimes agree w that, know it actually favors both.
I've been playing since FIFA 13 and that's what I could see without bias. Yes surely it looks and play unfair sometimes, I'm not saying the opposite, it does, but it is also balanced in your favor sometimes.

I'm not saying thats a good thing neither and I do understand competitive mode should be tuned because rn attacking is op compared to defending,
but the points you illustrated are questionable, that's all

First of all, my answer isn't meant as an attack on your statements. I was simply saying that my own team, despite having a fairly good team structure, rarely plays well. Be it in passing or, especially, in defense. In attack, my players sometimes circle each other several times in succession. Even the simplest passes barely reach the player despite open space, or they end up in the opposite direction with the opponent, even though the ball wasn't intended. And regarding the goalkeeper, goals happen in tight spaces, no question, but shots from over 20-25 meters, where the goalkeeper doesn't even attempt to jump... I just don't understand how the gameplay is supposed to be balanced for both sides here.

And regarding goal net colors and so on... my point is that, in my opinion, far too much attention is being paid to fixing cosmetic aspects of the game instead of improving things that, for some players, are implemented far too little or even poorly in terms of gameplay and balance. And the main point here is that some game mechanics are either overpowered or probably don't work properly at all in relation to the servers.

Sorry if some sentences may seem a bit strange, English is not my native language and for longer or more specific sentences, the translator must be used 😂
