I used to play Fifa from 06 up to Fifa 19, then stopped because the game was getting horrible with weekend league introduction and whatnot (and school). Came back for the first time this year because I heard "gameplay was actually good" which it was until mid-October (and because i tore my ACL / meniscus and needed a footy outlet), and all I can say after a 7 year hiatus is simply: "how?"

How has everything simply got unimaginably worse? Seriously, did all the devs leave from mid 2010s??? Nothing, absolutely nothing works. GPT 1.0 could've coded up something better than even the menu system in less than a couple hours??? I don't understand what happened.

Not even addressing the incredibly broken gameplay, how are the menus not only SIGNIFICANTLY WORSE than a decade plus ago, but actually literally broken?

how is one of the only things they actually addressed/spoke on/released was that "New Releases" tab, and it STILL doesn't work after multiple 7 hour maintenance windows??? LMAOOOOOOOO

• SBCs still don't spawn the right formation half the time
• you can't put players into your squad screen from the club at a rate faster than 1 player every 2 seconds
• transfer list breaks when mass putting players back to your club
• NEW BUG: quickly navigating to the store (quickly being anything under THREE WHOLE SECONDS) from the SBCs page simply opens the SBC your cursor is on instead of going to the store
• Half the time you try to look at an available evolution, the screen just goes blank??? So you have to ALT + F4 to get out? ALT + F4 from an EA Sports video game.... in 2026...??????
• so so so so much more. SO many bugs that have been around for SIX MONTHS NOW.

Genuinely, if anyone can log into FUT and navigate the menus for just 10 minutes without encountering either a horrible design pattern or literally a bug, please tell me your ways. This game felt so smooth for a good month but since people complained that they couldn’t defend with the lowest rated cards they’ll use all year they wanted a buff, now when we have insane defenders with meta playstyles look what happens to the AI as a result

This is a possibility. It's just typical of them. It feels like the dev team are just completely out their depth. No patch ever gets tested. The game gets worse with each patch. They should just revert the entire game back to the day 1 patch at this point. This is now just FC25 2.0 unfortunately. It's become very boring to play

Honestly should be illegal with how much they changed it after we bought it 😂. The player base is too impatient.. expecting low tier players to play the game for them and be perfect in every way. Mix that with EAs questionable need to go from one extreme to another and we end up with what we have now. A game that only really favours the ones that cried loudest and a very unenjoyable game.

Think they got extremely overwhelmed with a positive start for the game for the first time in forever, then as soon as they saw negativity they hit panic buttons and just tried to silence it all fast.

Sadly you can never make everyone happy even when you have a great product for once in a few years, do I think defending was a little too difficult at times at the start, absolutely, and I understood a fine tune to that, but they’ve only taken that to extremes. AI park the bus and spam RB that felt like only two different playstyles would work against and it got stale, game became less skill reliant and more AI reliant.

Unfortunately, that's true. Which is why I think they chose to try silence the loud minority. Yeah I think jockey speed/transition needed a little buff at the start. But it was far better than it is now. As you said, AI park the bus and spamming RB now. You spend 10-15 in game minutes trying to break them down just for their AI to intercept and you then concede on a through ball counter. I have always said you can't have a game that's "competitive" decided by the AI and not one player out playing the other. On top of that, Im absolutely fine when someone cooks me. Absolutely fine with it. But I just can't accept it when the difference in the game is the AI or some BS rebound that takes next to no skill. It just makes the game unenjoyable.

I’d rather lose by 7 than let an AI defend for me, genuinely don’t think I’ve pressed RB support once in FUT all year, same with player locks, but I don’t have issues with those because it feels like a genuine skill to know how to use properly.

100%. I have used RB in rare occasions. But I don't rely on it. I'm very aggressive with my defending at my own demise 😂. But yeah fully agree. Id rather get stomped than play like that. Player locking does take a certain level of skill for sure. I just wish the game was in a better place.

Playstyle is a cancer for the game. It's more important than player stats; we practically build our squad based on playstyles, only for EA to say, "Oh, this is too strong, let's change that," and then your whole squad looks like crap. It happened with Technical, Powershot, etc. They say they're nerfing X thing, and it ends up affecting the overall gameplay. Automatic AI, it's harder to score with the person not controlling the player than with someone playing, making everyone play the same way. It feels like I'm always against the same guy. In the first month, it was great, you could score in many ways, now we're back to sending "incisive passes" to the wingers with the striker. Cutbacks of faith, where there are 3 defenders in the ball's path and it goes through anyway, the person doesn't even think about whether it will go through or not, they just believe.
I feel like the game is going back to FC 25.

It’s not about how fast your WiFi is but it’s how far or close you are to the EA server. Your game data is being sent to a server and you are receiving game data from a server. You could have the fastest WiFi in the world but if you’re far away from a server you’ll have a constant 30ms every game.

Since the latest update whenever I try to do an SBC - click on the position I want to fill, it goes to search “any”. This has been happening forever when you click on GK, but now it is EVERY position, it doesn’t do the position search, only “any” - have to go into the menu and select the right position.
