for support on attack i just using l1/r1 or lb/rb lb puts them on a run and rb calls for support and you can use right analog stick to direct when where to run

and for defending mostly use cdm to mark and tackle

as for formation people say use the one with 2 cdm but i'd say play with what fits your style
