with hex storm 48GM, cd of soulburn is around 68s, meaning u would only be able to cast 2 leech per full-rotation anyway

I was still ice for awhile after the first wave of class changes. could hold top 10 but yea we have too many stronger WLs now

it is ass in comparison, and rotation is more dependent on the brand debuff so it's annoying

any fight where you lose the chance to keep hitting, it affects your skill CDs and rotation

yea it's playable, just not the stronger of the two haha. The problem is more like, if you don't hit enough, leech won't be reset nicely. So you end up being doodoo for abit

not being able to hit OR not critting enough

leech matters for the insta-cast effect for Dcall

and yes you'll need purple X for brand too. so it's something you have to be careful when doing bosses with CC (like B2, you dont wanna kd wrongly)

Not critting enough should not be that bad for me. If im looking at dragoncall gms, After the first dragoncall hit i go up to 79% crit chance for 5s on lvl 77 ennemy with my current card set, and 90% if mantra is active by some miracle at the same time.

I have crit chance on every card set except one and a 2 piece smite set

If I want to try it out, i have to prep 5600 gold for a double class swap, 2800 just to convert all my books to warlocks, and 2800 if it fails and I have to convert them again back to DL, or just become shadow

gives you less then another helix

its all based on card sets and gear

if you are under geared you use leech

if you are over geared you take it out and use helix

but i would say try the class out before

picking it because it is super glass cannon

DL probably feels boring because it hits slow, besides being easy rotation. But technically many classes become one button or close with the right macro set up.

Would say the annoying thing is just thrall besides the lack of more iframes. Summon it to blow it up wastes time and annoying esp when tanking. Bosses with multiple reds become a pain, but those with blockables become fairly simple

When I tank steel, I use thrall to bait the first red shoulder on rotation reset and free up iframes for other stuff

calculating from this, so u'r comparing 20%cr + 49%cd vs. 14%cr + 73%cd from the card sets. Assuming u have 19000 crit rate and 11500 crit damage on F3, which would translate to 35.19% cr and 241.48% cd. Adding (12%cr + 24%cd) * (8/20) from mantras, and 10%cr + 36%cd from helix, they become roughly 50%cr and 287%cd w/o card sets. With wb sets, u'll have 70%cr and 336%cd, expected damage would be 0.7 * 2.36 + 1 = 2.652 outside soulburn, and (0.7+0.2) * (2.36+0.5) + 1 = 3.574 inside soulburn; with jin sets u'll have 64%cr and 360% cd, expected damage would be 0.64 * 2.6 + 1 = 2.664 outside soulburn, and (0.64+0.2) * (2.6+0.5) + 1 = 3.604 inside soulburn. As u can see, jin sets are still stands out a tiny bit on top (less than 1% difference though). So if u don't have the jin sets already, it would be a nice budget build with the currently buffed wb sets, but if u already have them, it's not worth swapping off.

shadow's rmb rotates in 3 states (red->purple->blue) with a 0.3s, 0.5s, 0.5s gcd, and only the blue one triggers that cdr effect, so it's trigger every 1.3s

but while soulburn, all three states are turned into awaken volley, which triggers the cdr effect 3 times faster

The left side is one's dmg expectation with the cr+cd set: (x+3)% in-fight crit rate and 360% crit damage (so maxed out cardset).
The right side is that with ap+cd set: x% in-fight crit rate and (360+3)% crit damage, and 88ap provides about 2.5% increase in total damage when u have 3400ap.
This inequality solves for x<0.55352 means that if you find urself hitting less than 55.3% crit hits in an actual fight, then cr+cd set is better, otherwise ap+cd set is better.
Having incomplete card sets probably means u have even more cr and less cd, which further dilutes the effectiveness of more cr.
TL;DR: at least under current patch, where u stop at all gold line +0 and have around 3400ap, the ap+cd set still stands out, but not by much: if u have 70% in-fight cr, the ap+cd set only wins by 0.5% total damage increase

Your dmg will suffer more than u think.

The timing of imprison is really important (must be used right after two instant casts in a row + just used wingstorm to max reset effect, but at the same time dont want to hold onto it for too long). On top of only letting the first tick hit before you use other skills again. So if you use imprison with timing related to bleed. Will feel like suffering.

Wl is not really made to bleed and theres quite a few class that can do it much more easily than we do, without sacrificing so much

1. You are overcapped on crit on the green training dummy. That screws over the statistic more than you'd think.

2. Not using soulburn also screws over the statistic. Its part of your kit and gives so much crit dmg, why ignore it to try to prove a point?

3. Your dragoncall hit count is lower in the 2nd parse.

4. I never said that leech is absolute trash and should be avoided at all costs.I was just trying to say that at the absolute endgame with optimal card sets and stats, its just not worth it. On your way though, it can be a good alternative. It just needs a little more oomph to be a MUST have regardless of your gear.

it's worth to replace a volley with lege leech based on my calculation

at my current book setup and dmg distribution, -1 volley is losing 8% * 25% = 2% total damage, while getting 5% dmg increase from leech which has a 50% uptime so 5% * 50% = 2.5% gain.

but still need to see if the extra 6s leech duration fits well into the rotation.

cuz if longer leech duration leads to postponing the next soulburn after it's cooldown is already up, that's also a hidden dmg lost

there might be gms, it might have just not added yet in the client

cause if it gets added to client , it will get shown on every skill since its linked to the skill and not the book

specifically cause BM is getting a fire Tab when every other tabs come with gm effects.

if u keep the same rotation u will gain 3 sec (sf+3+leech) and an other 3 sec on the 2nd leech

the downtime with no boost after the 2nd 3 is what makes wl falls in dps

reducing that gap by 6 sec is good too
