helix is not fully spammable outside leech/soulburn duration. During leech, helix cost 1 orb w/ 0.5s gcd and a full set of volley is 0.3+0.5+0.5=1.3s gcd which generate 3 orb, so helix never runs out during leech. Similarly with soulburn, awaken volley generate 3 orb w/ 0.3s gcd and helix use 3 orb every 0.5s so it's infinite. On the other side, if leech or soulburn is not active, with lege. volley, you always gain 3 orb each time, either from the 3rd stage of volley or from hex storm, meaning the "collect 2 orb on crit" line on helix is completely useless rn. So during that downtime, you will definitely see helix being unusable occasionally.

maybe later when they add GM on volley, there will be a line says "generate 1 orb on the first 2 stages of volley", so that would perfectly synergize with helix's "collect 2 orb on crit" to minimize helix downtime outside leech/sb.

helix already provides constant 36% crit dmg, plus any Jinsoyun/Yunma Fei/Rahu card sets one may have that also increase crit dmg. In my case I already have 278% cdmg outside of battle, with helix stacks it becomes 314%, the leech book will only push it to 324%, resulting in a 3.18% dmagae increase when crit. (It's further diluted if u stack leech with soulburn since that also give an extra 50% cdmg) Multiplying that by my crit chance in actual fight, 65% w/o soulburn, it's roughly 2% dmg increase. Then the duration being 15s, cd being about 35s, means that the uptime is about 43%, since there's more helix during leech, I'll just use 50% for simplicity, resulting in 1% total damage increase. For comparison, stacking an extra purple helix even when u already have 96 GM provides a larger total damage increase than that.

unless the cdmg from leech is multiplicative rather than additive, I wouldn't recommend anyone taking it as long as they have a lege hex storm which always insta cast, and 48GM helix

i would just take another purple volley instead of leech, leech book is such a bait... At 18GM an extra purple volley increase volley dmg by 5.28%. Since volley should be about 40% of total damage, it's equivalent to 2.11% total damage increase. Almost twice efficient as a leech book can provide.

In the short term your goal will be to reach 48 stacks on Dragon Helix

You want the Dragon Helix soul badge and the Leech mystic badge

(Iirc youll get +5 badges at the end of the new story so dont upgrade the onces you have rn)

Your damage should come from helix > rmb > v

Rmb is typically the spectral orb variant, though the v cdr variant was buffed massively (but Im not aware of seeing comparisons anywhere, so ill assume the rmb spectral orb is still correct)

Note that its not worth to spend gold to buy additional skill book change vouchers for blue books (cant check ingame, but check if youll be receiving additional random purple book chests from level achievements soon.)

Bombardment lowers CD on Dragoncall

And Crit on Dragoncall (purple) makes it instant cast again for free
