#NC Account region locked to Korea?
21 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
well those guides didnt exist back then yet. im pretty sure i didnt do anything wrong but i guess korean was the default back then. guess i'll have to make another account, thanks anyway
They 100% existed considering it was made when Purple first launched last year
look date. its september 24, i created account march 24.
we've always had a guide for purple
#🟣purple-guides message Still before your creation date. That channel was made much later to consolidate everything. It still doesn't excuse the fact that players should need a guide to make an account, however.
Not to mention we made the move to Purple in February of last year so the guide was up since February 2024.

I just want to say that the guides dont always work. friend followed it and his account still went to KR when he logged in.
Long story short, this shouldnt be an issue to begin with. Its definitely a flawed and awful system they have made for purple migration
They archived the Purple channels only to reactivate it for Neo release because the issues players had back then are still there even now
A very simple fix would be if they separated KR as its own region rather than NA+EU+KR as Global yet they won't even do that
Losing your old account and characters because NC made a bad system is really going to deter players from coming back. This bug shouldnt exist
If you're coming back for Neo that part won't be an issue in regards to losing characters but the change from locking yourself into KR to West is still possible to do.
And the only way you would still end up on KR even after "following the guide" would be if you had a KR account prior to the move to Purple.
If you created an account through the Purple client rather than on the website it bypasses the country selection process and defaults you to KR too
Players will get peeved. its a perception thing, not logical sadly.
also, followed guide to a T but still locked them to KR. This was the same account used to play BNS back in the day.
And when I followed that same exact guide, it deleted all my old characters. I did mine step by step. But at least my Account is NA Still
No characters are deleted at all. Everything is still there. You just failed the migration process.
That being said, it was all done very poorly from the getgo and the devs refused to fix the issues from last year's move despite players running into issues daily. With Neo pre-launch that will only happen again
I did not fail the migration process. I followed it to the letter. Bold of you to assume it is the user's fault when the system is inheritly bad to begin with.
Considering I've done the new account creation progress multiple times in order to try and help troubleshoot it with both new and returning players, yes, you migrated it wrong
I did the migration process with all of the inherited accounts of retired friends and players for them the day we moved to Purple and not once did I run into an issue of migrating incorrectly.
Again, following the guide exactly, how do you do it wrong? It isnt like the guide is new, its the same guide that has existed prior to their announcement today.
Its really unfortunate you blame the user when you dont know personally if the user did the process wrong. It is not a hard thing to follow even when changing the email (which is stupid imo to beginw ith)
We've seen literally hundreds if not thousands run into the same issue as you over the course of the last 12 months
Every single one ends up being user error
Which again, if it was coded properly to begin with the issues wouldn't be present in the first place.
Any account issue from "following the guide" that occurs means that somewhere along the way, something was done "wrong", whether it be where the account creation process started, what country of origin was selected, what the method of account creation was, etc. There's a lot of issues with the way the account creation process has once it launched for West, with almost all of the reasons stemming from bad coding/Global being lumped together with KR
In the end it doesnt matter. I migrated 12 17 2024 and put in a help ticketed to CS. Never received a response so I gave up on it.
November-December was also during a time when all the mass layoffs for NCSoft occurred which more likely than not included the old support team that barely did anything so it may be that your ticket was lost during the transfer process to the new support team. Did you try contacting Rownen about your ticket that was unanswered?
Anyways for the OP, sadly the only thing we have been able to do on our end with the gentleman that had the issue was to create a new Account. and recommend creating through the website not the launcher. Should help.
@astral mantle If the ticket was lost due to layoffs, it is once again yet more problems with NCWest which really shows how bad they are at handling things. I have not reached out to Rownen but I may do that since you suggested it. The thing that hurt the most was losing all the character slots to play around with things and to have all my cute outfits. Even if I was never truly to play on live, it hurts non the less to lose it. Nahmean?
Did you end up trying to change it with a new email from KR once you ended up on that side? https://id.plaync.com/account-integration/issue with conflicting accounts or accounts that ended up on the wrong server that link above can also get you back to West. Granted if it tells you that the account can be used then support is really the only other option
when he did that, it forced the brand new gmail to be Kr again despite chosing USA
