The new Sanctum of Masters (7/16 update) gives much more points compared to previous (if old Sanctum was around 30,000 points, new Sanctum points system is around 100,000 points upon completion)

The server came back up at 9:00pm PST, and this new Sanctum points system affected the rankings for the season ending at 10:00pm PST.

Some players figured this out and completed the new Sanctum immediately after the patch before the ranking rewards were given out, and they were immediately boosted up in rankings.

Players that didn't know about this (or were away) and didn't complete Sanctum within that 1-hour window lost their ranks to players that completed the new Sanctum.

Players have spent countless hours in earning their rankings throughout the season, only to have their efforts undone in the span of 10 minutes with the new Sanctum.

This updated points system should NOT have affected rankings for a season that was 1 hour away from giving out the season rewards.

new ranking in sanctum overcame the previous ranks by such a big numbers that helped others rise up in overall ranks by big numbers. cause past ranks pre change were limited to something around 9000 or 10100 but new rankings go as far as 13000, i dont want to give names but i lost my rank 2 thanks to this issue when the person above me didn't even have SA or TF clears like mine , i was rank 2 in all demonsbane but randomly this dear player gets rank 2 and ends season as rank 2 and i am rank 3 nise for some reason i can't even make a ticket about it online in support section. please look into this and fix the ranking system

The solution is simple. They can check the logs and see who ran sanctum in that 1 hour window and issue a temp ban to players who ran sanctum. It's that simple. Whether you ran knowingly or unknowingly it was abuse, it shouldn't go unpunished.

TBH i don't want anyone banned, I didn't run sanctum and I was affected, but i'd rather just have people that lost ranks be fairly compensated with the rewards according to their rightful ranks before maintenance.

You guys are crazy thinking this is ban worthy and abuse. Clearly an unintended bug, this can be easily mended by changing the future rank reward times to the Maint time AND giving people missed jars as compensation of lost top ranks

There are prolly less than 25 people who would have been impacted the hardest, and idk how you would be able to tell if someone was just running sanctum or HAD the intention of stealing ranks specifically

not stealing ranks , whoever did it intentionally or unintentionally just won a jackpot and there is no reason for them to ruin weeks of hard work , there shouldnt be any ban or penalty , just revert the ranks and do them properly

That is 1 of those times where you gotta have "faith" in NC and their ability to see those past ranks and be able to compensate properly. Im not quite there yet tho

MY original first msg spotting something wrong was a joke about sanctum abuse because of how crazy the score was it must have been a bug. I didn't quite realize that the whole sanctum score was changed completely until stinky troll sin told me to run it and see

its only na thats affected too afaik - eu rank rewards go out during maintenance while na is right after maint or 1 hr after depending on dst. had to re-rank quickly to keep spots because of ppl doing this, and running nayul also seemed to have affected rank as well

This could be easily solvable if they moved up the time they handed out rewards to be during maintenance. And to call for people to be banned because they played the game is stupid. Are people expected to log on after maintenance and sit around to rewards because NC has a flawed system?

NA only problem due to dst and the change in both times for maint and rank rewards going outDentt wasn’t an issue before the time change worryduh

Solution:

  1. Check who had top ranks before the new system was implemented
  2. Give out appropriate compensation to people who lost their ranks
  3. OPTIONAL: roll back ranking rewards for people who "abused" the ranking
  • since you don't know who "abused", you will also have to give them their original ranking rewards

We’ve had messed up ranks at season end for several seasons already. They haven’t done anything about it so doubt anything will change

This whole issue is one of those "sweep under the rug" types. I agree with chaos and do not think anything will come of it other than maybe just changing WHEN the rank rewards happen

This was the one time it ended up giving more points if you ran after maint but before ranked rewards went out. The last two seasons you would mess up your ranks and end up lower if you did runs after maint but before ranked rewards went out

I mean this is the best message they can give you by Support. This is KR you are talking to and all they do is send infos back and forth. Bear has used up his time yesterday explaining a few things, he for sure has seen this and has no answer to it as this is how the Season Reset works and they are linked to both regions on same server.

Hey all. We have discussed this with all relevant departments. It was a unfortunate occurrance. NA and EU are going to now reset at the same time, so this situation will not occur again. We apologize for the inconvenience.

if they change the time for NA they would have to change the time for EU as well to line up. it's a lot of work prolly and they lazy tbh. this is just something people gonna have to deal with every season.

it just so happens EU's 1am falls in maint time while NA's 1am not the same....
