  1. SUMMARY
Please add day and night cycle into the world in blade and soul for the sake of immersion.

  2. MAIN ISSUE
Day and night cycle is currently missing entirely in blade & soul as it always did, and yet it is a very easy way to improve immersion greatly. (as it is an RPG, immersion is important.)

  3. POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS
Add day and night cycle, matching the server's time zone (different for NA and EU), with a twilight zone between the two as it transitions from night to day, or day to night, resulting in 3 different visuals of each zone you could be in in total, as well as the lighting differences. Could make it 12-12 for day and night in hours, 1-1 hours being twilight, transitory phases.

  4. EVIDENCE/EXAMPLES
World of Warcraft had day / night cycle ever since it's release in 2004 and is a good example for an mmo with good immersion. The game world was affected by these cycles even back then, seen in fish's behaviour in the world as an example (there were fishes you could catch at night, while others at day.) or the humans that turned into werewolves at night in silverpine forest.

Very good idea

I'd also love to see rain/snow in addition to day/night cycles. This could also be tied to some buffs/debuffs or maybe events that happen during those periods, might make open world pvp and faction areas a bit more interesting as well.

If your outfit isn’t suited for the weather you get a debuff KEKW

This was to be a thing when they first showcased UE 4 but it never happened. (also raining too) I would like to add on to this as well. I'll make a new topic about it.

I would like day and night cycle

It’s a good idea, but debuff would go too far lol

Matching the server's time might not be a good idea tho. Think of players who can only play at a given time of a day. Those players would "never" be able to enjoy the other setting.

There is always the weekends to play at that other time of day
I always felt a dissonance whenever game didn't reflect time of day. Playing at midnight but the sun is high up in the sky in the game for example, which is why I suggest it to match the server time

I personally would suggest instead of a one to one match to real world time, to do a one to to four. For every real hour, four pass in game, allowing players to see all the potential effects if this suggestion is reviewed and deemed viable.

I personally think adding addition time limits to specific resource acquisitions would only make it harder to find parties, and that if the effect is completely cosmetic that it's a pointless addition.

Pokémon has done morning/day/night (which eventually split further into morning/day/evening/night) cycles so it would have ‘some’ level of immersion, but players like me who literally only play during the same timeframe every day will still only see one of those said effects if it were to be implemented

I'd personally prefer game time of day to match irl time of day, even if i can play only at a given time of the day no matter what. It's nice if my eyes aren't burnt out by bright colors at night...

The easier solution to the game being too bright at night would be to turn down the monitor and game brightness. The day-night cycle would also be really odd for Midnight Skypetal Plains and Moonlight Refuge, along with pointless for any indoor or alternate dimension dungeons.

Content totally not available in vanilla

Midnight Skypetal Plains and Moonlight Refuge are accessible with a vanilla live client. And Moon Refuge is about to become relevant again, so a day/night cycle would interfere with the moon theme.

Certain areas that had permanight or permaday (or neither) were also reflected in Pokémon with what I said earlier, so it wouldn’t be all too difficult to adjust it just for those zones, since lighting would be adjusting a skybox and you have zoneids to differentiate between areas

Shevi, if your suggestion was meant for NEO only, you should have indicated as such, given I suspect vanilla = NEO in the context of your response.

It is tagged for neo already for the OP, unless you meant for the comments

i have tagged it as neo soely

Ah, I see. Still, it would be a bit silly to think they wouldn't eventually add in the level 50 content. I don't see NEO going in a wholely different direction so accounting for unusual zones now in suggestions doesn't hurt.
