#Mid-match crashes causing computer restart
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Happened twice so far mid match, causes an instant restart after catching the bugcheck
Was able to relog after the windows restart and finish both matches
Can you describe the windows crash in more detail? BSOD?
no BSOD, just an instant restart
Any sort of hard buzzing sound? Any specific time in match? Like unit select? Round start?
In combat, shooting at people and getting shot. I don't think there was a buzzing sound.
Got it. I ask as I was having some similar issues with my own machine in the past weeks. Based on what you're describing, the issue could be a thermal shutoff coming from your system. Are you monitoring your system's temperatures? Do you know if it's been cleaned or how old the system is (thermal pasting and all that)
The issue you're describing doesn't sound like anything caused by Gundam Evolution, nor Side 7's modifications to it
it might be your psu as well i had an issue a while ago on a 850w one that would cause my pc to shut off when i was playing at 2k because some fights would spike power draw and push me over draw enough for shut off havent had a restart since swapping to a 1000w one so it could be that or if its just old as fuck it might be dying a bit
That's possible. I similarly went from an 850w to a 1000w. The 850w was doing the same behavior you described. Recently I began observing that my 1000w would often times bsod but fail to put a crash dump out. I had it happen most often in GEVO, but occasionally with Rivals and Guild Wars 2. My eventual solution was to completely disassemble everything and reseat it all after a thorough cleaning. (I suspect a RAM stick may have been slightly loose)
I don't think it is a cooling issue, gunevo doesn't push my system nearly as hard as some other games and I'm running 85% GPU power and have proper heat targets via Nvidia app so I'd drop frames long before I crashed. Got a super big noctua cooler on the CPU. If it was temp Battlefield 6, Helldivers war for cyberstan, or Arc Raiders would definitely trip it but that hasn't happened yet.
It's more likely a spike in power draw then. This game wasn't very well optimized, both from asset implementation all the way to actual code. It has an overreliance on blueprints as well as suboptimal decisions like every skin in the game using a separate skeletal mesh (even if the skins are otherwise identical sans texture)
So a spike in asset loading driven by some suboptimal blueprints could be the culprit
mmm ok I just crashed again, this time a full freeze with the audio buzzing while slaughtering the enemy in my pale rider ult
this wasn't a problem last week, played all weekend with no issues
Faulting application name: NVIDIA App.exe, version: 128.4.13.23, time stamp: 0x696a5d27
Faulting module name: ucrtbase.dll, version: 10.0.19041.6809, time stamp: 0x2bd748bf
seems like a different bug tho
I swear I did an integrity scan after the latest windows 10 update, but there was a supposed fix to nvidia GPUs in there....
I wonder if setting the GPU up to 100% power will fix the issue
It may!
