you might have a pak that isn't whitelisted

I had that same thing happen

Whitelisting should not cause this issue. The game would fail to launcher sooner.

btw we need a thread pinned here With possible causes for the error so that people can easily find it and figure out what the issue is without having to create a completely new thread

We could do with an update. Granted 401 is particularly rare. I also suspect WooTank's issue is related to the staging environment; which most users will not encounter.

it was...had to remove the tools file

then relaunched it while also removing the pak i was using for staging

Tools file wasn't it. It was the xinput1_3.dll

ye but we're both wrong...it was the launcher.cfg file was what i removed along with whatever the unlisted mod was

The launcher config being the culprit is not one I've heard before...You aren't putting your staging and production launchers in the same directory, are you?

well it had the mod pak on it...when i removed the mod pak relaunched it...still gave me the same error...removed the launcher file and redownloaded the launcher and laucnhed the new downlaod it workd
