If anyone is like me and you struggle with creating pretty eye colors in CAZ, I highly recommend these eye color lens from a creator on Canvas, bykitsu. They made these gorgeous grey eyes, I would never have been able to create this color combination on my own. They have a few eye colors on there , from brown to blue and if you apply them as a lens, they won't interfere with any existing makeup on your Zoi

As you can see in my side-by-side (attached), the new system is forcing structural changes to the jawline that were never there before. Itโs imposing an unrealistic "V-line" standard on younger females and squaring off the jaws of older ones.

She actually started as a male preset, so I sculpted the face from the underlying structure up to aim for a more natural/anatomical look.

I think you nailed it. I've been trying to push for realism with my zois lately. It's challenging lol. But I've found it's all in the eyes. And little tweaks for expression in them or the mouth. And then using makeup to mimic shadows in the face. I kinda wish we had more to play with in the facial features sections with the scars and beauty marks and such.

Thank you so much! I completely agree โ the eyes are the hardest part but I enjoy the challenge and find it entertaining. I just want even more details and more options. Even when the face structure is working, the eyes can make or break the realism instantly.
Iโve also found that tiny expression/mouth tweaks matter a lot, especially because a sculpt can look good neutral but start drifting uncanny once the rig animates it. Iโve basically become an inZOI dentist at this point lol.
Since we do not directly have teeth customization yet, even though Unreal/MetaHuman-style tooth controls exist in other contexts, Iโve been working around it through the mouth and jaw structure. Each preset seems to come with its own teeth/smile behavior, so one of the early things I do in CAZ is adjust the upper and lower lip scale/widening in basic edit. That seems to affect how wide the upper/lower dental arch reads, how large the teeth look, and how the smile spaces horizontally.
Then from the side profile, I adjust the lower jaw/chin projection and upper mouth projection to control the overbite/underbite read, then rebalance the lower lip around it. In detailed mode, I adjust the mouth-corner width while the Zoi is doing the laugh animation, because that is where the smile issues show up fastest.
I also adjust the eyes and cheeks around the smile so it feels like a natural human expression, not just the mouth moving by itself. It has honestly become one of my favorite and most challenging parts of sculpting realistic Zois. I have become a real time inzoi dentist creating realistic and unique smiles.
And yes, I really wish we had more facial detail options too. More scars, beauty marks, skin irregularities, under-eye details, tear trough options, and subtle asymmetry controls would make such a difference for realism.

Absolutely. Once you have the eyes, the character begins to "speak" to you and the rest kinda flows naturally, imo. But if we had eye details? Or wrinkles, slightly crooked teeth or grills, dimples, larger moles (even for the body), double chin lol, or crows feet especially, I would be in CAZ heaven. It's the little things. And I do the same when adjusting the mouth, but with the smile, I kinda just leave it to chance, haha. Because realistically, not everyone has a great smile and that's ok lol. Plus it's a treat for me when they have a killer smile when I'm done with everything. But Inzoi has been doing amazing with these updates, I'm sure they'll add a plethora of more features for us in the future...at least, I'm hoping they will.

Ooooo, I do that too when inspiration strikes! A lot of the presets are attractive, but I started getting bored just altering them. Youโve honestly re-inspired me.
I included the unchanged female version of the male preset she started from, plus my first version of Elara. Look how much she changed/evolved!
This started as a personal CAZ challenge. Since inZOI does not currently have separate feature presets, I picked one of the least flattering male presets I could find, switched it to female, and lowered the fatness slider to 50% so I could see the underlying facial structure. I wanted to embrace the limitations and masculine structure of that preset instead of avoiding them, then see if I could transform it into a realistic female Zoi.
My main rule was that almost all of her face had to come from sculpting โ not makeup, lighting, or styling. I wanted her to still look like the same Zoi without makeup.
After spending enough time in CAZ, preset artifacts become easier to recognize. Part of the challenge was sculpting her far enough that you could no longer clearly see the original preset underneath.

Riiiight. One of the horrors I recently realized about this game was the zois look different once downloaded. And now I have to remember to open them up in game (and take some pictures) to help me see what I need to tweak to keep things the same. And here lately, I'm trying to remember to add those pictures to the final upload so others won't be bamboozled. But visuals also depends on a person's individual graphics settings and I keep mine between medium and high. And I do a similar approach in CAZ, once I have the zoi, I strip them down, no hair, no makeup, features reset to 0 so I have a raw canvas to work with, it's really interesting to see what I come up with. I have my special lighting pics, and then at least 1 with regular lighting. But honey, I love Elara's transformation! That takes determination and patience, trust I know lol

Thank you. Elara is at version 8, although I have like 10 copies between each version ๐ I'm glad you understand what it's like. I should probably start my canvas soon but I'm shy and perfectionist. If people like her I should upload her. I'm sure your portfolio on your canvas is lovely, but sure to share it with me sometime, I would love to see it!
Right now I'm waiting before I upload to see if the developer will revert the current new changes they made to age morphs back to how they were before the v.080 update by the next update. Or atleast revert the jaw changes they made. Because every zoi I created before the update is altered and I have to do intense reconstructive surgery to fix them.

Whaaa no way. I will show you pictures in DMs later but I was dissatisfied because inzoi has some cheekbone limitations as mine are higher and I was too invested in this preset before I learnt some presets have areas that can be edited and others can't.
I better at creating men as well, to the point I find it super easy, so I was trying to push myself out of my comfort zone and create women

I hate the cheek limitations, too, and makes it harder not to have same face syndrome. And don't get me started on how the "symmetry mode" button is just there for aesthetics, when it moves one side a little faster than the other, that's it! But maybe that's my eagle eye looking too close, I just end up having to manually make things even. And kudos for pushing yourself. I'm trying to do that with build mode.
