I'm highly skeptical of Paralives now. Im not mad a game gets delayed because it ain't ready, but seeing what Patreons are writing about the live stream they had there yesterday, it's inexcusable they took this long to realize the game isn't ready for release. And i sincerely doubt it'll be ready in May if mere basics like pathfinding aren't even working yet. These developers spent all of their resources on paramaker and build mode and they just forgot live mode is the most important thing in their game? I guess they procrastinated making it because it's hard, and now they're realizing they might not have the skills to make it happen. I'm afraid this will turn into another life by you debacle.
Makes me happy I got my sweet big beautiful gaming pc that can run Inzoi like butter lol.
Paralives had the perfect release window in December with people jumping ship on Sims and Inzoi still being in a state where there's no satisfying long gameplay loop yet. But in May people will mostly have forgotten about EA's sale and Inzoi will be much further developed. The market will be much less favorable then.

I am a bit sad we're not getting another life sim for a while again. The genre has been a monopoly for so long that I was hoping we'd start to truly break a way from it and I don't want Inzoi to be the new monopoly if Sims continues down the path of entirely changing the IP to be away from traditional sims game and into cheap mobile spinoffs.
But man, I do feel the writing was on the wall for a long time. Every time I checked in with their development, I got more questions than answers. Which is fine early on, not so much when early access was a few months out and things like developing the town was still on their to-do list on notion.
Can they come back? I'd say game development can be a never say never. We get A LOT of wild stories

I think paralives just save themselves.Take inzoi launch,the inzoi launch to me was a bit too soon.A lot of people over hype the game and than the player base drop because there was nothing to do.( This is not to say that inzoi has not improved in the first release.It has) Now imagine you are smaller and dont have enough resources or funding sims or inzoi.If they released the game now.They would had a more negative reception.

I think that will still happen, but it will probably be a very long time from now, and they will reboot it.
like the next console generation is getting close, so after the new ownership handover, it will probably take at least a year for them to sort out their plans for the future etc.
so an actual main-line Sims game won't start development till 2029 at earliest.

I don't mind cosmetic DLC, or like new worlds as DLC, as long as all stuff that should be part of the core gameplay don't get paywalled. Like having to spend hundreds of euros just to get stuff that you need to make the game feel complete.

Yep, but you can’t change a lot type that generates roles like Stuff. Plus, until you invite your own Zois, no one comes. And for example, you can’t add a second floor to a club, there’s a building height restriction.
So, I built a 2nd floor above the arcade and replaced the creative studio, but that’s still not the kind of flexibility we need. That’s why Canvas Town and similar solutions seem promising 😌

Sadly, while it IS a spinoff and normally that'd be a nothingburger, EA has been pretty open they have no plans to make mainline sims games anymore
So Project Rene/Sims Lab: Life Together is not the Sims 5 but it IS the future of the franchise currently
