Some of y’all keep crying about “AI” in Fate Engine and it’s honestly showing you don’t even understand what it is.

The Fate Engine in inZOI is a simulation system, not some button that lets AI play the game for you. It just lets NPCs and the town actually live their lives, form relationships, make decisions, and react to what’s happening instead of standing around waiting for the player to control every single thing.

If you want a life sim where everything is fully handcrafted and scripted, cool — that’s basically the design direction of Paralives.

But Canvas Town isn’t trying to be that. The whole point is a world that evolves on its own so you’re not micromanaging an entire town like it’s a spreadsheet.

So calling Fate Engine “just AI” ruining the game is honestly a bad take. It’s literally there to make the simulation deeper and more dynamic.

First, I’d love to see NPCs freely using community lots like swimming pools or karaoke rooms. Also, I wish there were more interactions with busking NPCs, like being able to give them tips. And it would be great if those buskers had a proper 'finish time' or 'commute' just like other NPCs, rather than just standing there forever. Would you recommend coming back now?

I would love to suggest adding fully interactive hospitals and clinics to inZOI. It would greatly enhance realism if Zois could attend pregnancy appointments, yearly check-ups, and doctor visits when they get sick instead of only using basic medical items at home. Providing players with meaningful choices during these visits, or the option to accompany their Zois to appointments, would add greater immersion to family and life progression gameplay. It would also be amazing to introduce a medical career path where Zois advance from nursing roles to becoming licensed physicians through education, skill development, and professional experience.

I know it's an exception but there are other business models. A game like No Man's Sky has been giving out major free updates for over a decade and they simply market the game and put it on sale each time they release a major update and influxes of new players buy the game with each update they released. There are a lot of reasons why modders can't or won't update mods. Game engine change, time constraints, even loss of a computer. Mods are a privilege, not an entitlement.

how so? theres sm to do! just with horses alone, western and englisj riding, competition events, horse maintenance, breeding, etc. each animal would have to be cared for and them youd also have to get produce out of them. i think animals in general have probably some of the most potential in life sims. i think we just have yet to see a game that goes into sm depth that isnt an animal centred game to begin with

oh, i see. cows are also different types of mear producers too! you can choose to raise a cow for milk and/or beef and different cuts of it too. i think itd be nice if they intertwined farming with groceries and cooking. theyve already started with plants amd stuff so i do believe well definitely see a cooking overhaul where food and drinks will only be able to be made with proper ingredients and the non vegan stuff will have to come from animals ofc!

theyre still working on it, i personally love businesses and the direction theyre going. id rather have features be constantly worked on until theyve perfected them than them just forego them altogether. businesses will not be what they are now by the years end so im sure we can say that for other things. for example, theyre planning on making underwater diving way more expanded, they just included as it is now so thay we at least have it, its not the final design though
